Great review Jenny! One thing to mention is that the trigger lock only works when you fully depress the trigger and the sander is running at full speed, according to the speed settings 1-5.
I have an older corded dewalt belt sander but this seems like a nice tool. You must have had included battery in the tool weight, its about 8 lbs bare tool.
I like all Dewalt tools, that cordless sander would make a great addition to all my other tools.Thank you again for another great presentation, you're the best Jen!!!
I had those exact same 2 belt sanders. I bought the black & decker a few years ago, recently replaced it with the dewalt cordless. Then i sold the B&D.
Would be cool if the compatible dust extractor wasn't so expensive. I still dont understand why a BL XR shop vac hasn't been out as yet. Pre SBD Porter Cable OG sanders were the benchmark.
i had a tae kwon do instructor a long tima ago her name was Dale Saunders....i always think of my black belt when i think of her. DalWalt Belt Saunder. coiNciDeNcE??? i think NOT. THIS justifies why i will be purchasing yet another tool. ahhh. i feel better now.
I sure would like to try one of these out. I have an Old Sears that has never failed me. Just wonder if it can be clamped down and used stationary. Mine has a flat top for doing this. When Sears was going out of business they had marked their belts at $1.00. This was the price on the box. They rang up 2 boxes at $1.00 each instead of the belts. I think I will have enough for a while. Rockler has a Great dust collection set with a bunch of attachments to fit any tool. Even square ports.

I'm looking over the info given to me in the press release and don't see an actual number, but the reviews on Amazon might be helpful. I wish the company would give an estimate with the highest setting. I just used mine on the end table I refurbished but didn't run it continuosly or pay attention to time. It's hard to combine filming and actual working. lol www.amazon.com/DEWALT-Sander-Cordless-Brushless-DCW220B/product-reviews/B0BY2T3XVT/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_show_all_btm?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=all_reviews
I just used this yesterday for my first time, but for some reason the battery would only last about 1 minute before I'd have to replace it with another. The battery was also very hot once I took it off. Any thoughts?
I'm not sure it would be balanced if not, though? My Restorer is the same way and I think my Black and Decker belt sander is too. Maybe it would get away from you if it wasn't designed like that? I actually had to take a look at others online. Most do look as though your hand is out front a bit. I used this tool the other day on a hutch I'm redoing, it couldn't get to the inside corners but overall it's an MVP with removing material quickly. (My Restorer is awesome too!)
@@Jennyfromtheshop yeah but that’s the reason I use makita’s corded. It’s just on too many occasions I needed that specific design , so I am after it in the tool. Anyways, great review, reveals all that needs to be known.
