First Fall Hike of the Year - Summiting Waterrock Knob, Mount Lyn Lowry, and Plott Balsam 

Fall has started in the Blue Ridge Mountains, so of course I went hiking to see the start of fall colors. Leaves start changing at higher elevations first, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to work on the Carolina Mountain Club's South Beyond 6000 challenge. I summitted Waterrock Knob (which is right off of the Blue Ridge Parkway), then continued on summit Mount Lyn Lowry and Plott Balsam. This trail was a bit more challenging than expected, but it also had some great views along the way.
