Hi Josh. I'm a company driver and I have no idea how owner operators get the jobs. While you're at it could you please show us the process of getting them. This is one part that has been keeping me from becoming an owner operator, thanks! This was a very special video. Been following you for years and I know what this truck means to you and I can see how genuinely happy you are. Congratulation! Looking foreword to watching you OTR with Diesel. Just like the old days.

I would like to know if you stretch that truck that much how are you gonna to get in and out of business to make your deliveries. I already watch one guy down in South Carolina who has a W 900 who has all kinds of trouble getting into shippers with his long W9. According to him they don’t turn that sharp either.

Brother, I live in Florida, and I love that kenworth, I have a Pete from 88 and doesn’t compare to that beautiful kw. I want to start trucking but the new regulations that are placed here in Florida, it’s hard to become a trucker without dropping almost 6k right off the bat. But I’ve been watching you for about 6 years now and I’m very happy with the progress you have made. I remember you from 6 years ago you always wanted a nice kw w900. And here you are, owning a beautiful truck. Your family will always love that truck. That’s my dream truck and everybody has to admit, w900 are the legends of the highway. Love it. Brit is a woman after my own heart. Diesel is with you the most and she feels he deserves his name on the door. He is your partner in crime so to speak until the babies arrive (which I pray for you both every day). Someday if things change new decals can be done. OL Blue looks amazing sitting in your shop and I am so excited for you to start a new part of your journey.

It's a beauty for sure. I have heard some officials with ticket books don't like having blue lights visible from the front of the vehicle. Would the logo only be lit when it is parked?

Trucker Josh with a truck of his own. Here we go again.

Hi Josh. Regards from New South Wales in Oz. I like the look of your new to you W900. I sure hope you get a good trouble free run with this KW. As with all trucks, regular maintenance is needed, and parts, tyres and fuel costs nowadays are through the roof. I would hate to have to pay to run a truck now with prices so high. You mentioned extending the chassis on your W900, and maybe carrying a bike behind your sleeper. I would council you against this decision, for two good reasons. Firstly, a chassis 4, 5 or 6 feet longer than it is will drastically affect manoeuvrability, especially in a yard or truck stop, including backing into a dock. Borrow a long wheelbase prime mover in your yard, if you have one, to try it. Otherwise, speak to owners of LWB trucks at truck stops, and get their opinion. They may let you try theirs out. Also, your truck is a business investment, not a lifestyle, or a hobby. And you must treat your investment as such, and maintain it in a condition to carry as much revenue earning freight as you can get on it. To this end, you must run you truck, within reason, as light as possible, not adding heavy things like Bull Bars or frame extensions. This is one reason so much aluminium alloy is used now in boxes, bumpers, wheels, and trailers, and why cabs are now plastic, because it's all hugely lighter than steel, and allows us to carry more money making stuff on the back, and it uses less fuel when lightly loaded. When I started driving trucks, everything was steel, and we couldn't carry anything like you guys do now. Of course the rules were different then too, but our trucks were much less powerful then, but so much of that precious power was pulling around a heavy truck and trailer. I'm curious about this modern day fad of having a shoulder high gear lever. I've noticed, on other trucking channels, that quite a few of the young blokes are using them, and I must admit, I'm a little puzzled by their use, and curious about the possible detrimental wear they may put on the gear selectors. While I'm not a transmission expert in any way, I was taught (as in teach - I haven't used this word for about 30 years and the spelling is possibly wrong) to not drive with my hand on the gear lever (all trucks were manual change then) to reduce wear and tear on the gear selectors in the transmission. Having an extra long lever with this extra weight in it may do a similar thing. I don't know, Josh. Talk to a gearbox guy and see what he says, maybe. Good luck to you and your wife in your quest to start a family, and I wish you every success in your business venture. If you treat it always as a business, you'll succeed.

What’s the point of bringing your motorcycle if you’re only doing regional, not much time to ride it. I’d say save the money on building a hydraulic ramp. I’d even go as far as to say don’t stretch the frame. Leave it as is, it looks great and will look even better with a step deck behind it. But of course your truck, your decisions.

The truck is looking awesome Josh! I think I was the one who gave you the idea for the bug deflector I think it was the Volvo? Anyway, would it not be awesome for you to have a huge transparent bug deflector on the hood with ol' Blue wrote on it. Maybe even have it with glass fiber lighting so at the truck shows and when not on the road you could light it up, maybe even having a slight blue glow to it. That would be awesome

That truck is cool as hell Josh, im my short driving career i was fortunate to drive a buncha trucks and the w900 was one of them but no where nice as yours! I drove for a private contractor i would be interested in hearing you talk about how much they pay for company drivers vs owners. Seeing your fuel bill and you not busting a sweat about that makes me think owners make some good coin!

Here in BC we call it the 6 month maintenance plan, meaning bare minimum to get the truck safety'ed for the next 6 months. Not a lot of preventative maintenance going on..
