Wow So Great Glad you put the longer video up here. Excellent pilot Knows what he doing. And you see how that Culver Prop just whisk him along through the sir 'with the greatest of ease'
There are some really nice kits of WWI & WWII planes out there now, with the advance in materials & electronics even the all wood & film planes have advanced and gotten lighter, making for better flying planes..the modern RC radial engines are beautiful too.. Typically the bigger the model the better it flies, as structure, hardware, & electronics "density" increases in a smaller airframe, and the surface area increases as volume decreases, so more drag, denser, less space for equipment, less stability when acting upon so little air, less power, 🤔😬Our grand /great grandparents were nearly or equally as much pioneers in flight as the folks who brought full scale to flight.. Whatever end of the spectrum of flight we are on, there is the camaraderie of family..& the miracle..the joy.. of flight.. OH, BOY ARE WE SO LUCKY! The vintage history, & modern tech!😎👍
Pretty outstanding! It would be nice to see a four blade prop on the SE5. It would also be nice if the owner lived near me in South Mo. Because I'd be thrilled just to see this flying around!
That is so awesome! It must be satisfying for Culver Props to see your hard work in the flying around on such a piece of history. Note: I think my lawnmower has more horsepower.
@@CulverProps Bud Davison wrote an article on the new Model A available, and it got me thinking about what he suggested. A Fokker DVII or SPAD XIII flying a Model A (and scaled to match the engine but still keeping all the original lines accurate). Too many scale replicas ruin the look of these aircraft. SE5a would be another good candidate for that.
what kind of HP do those put out? The big bore vw engines with redrive are rated for 100+ where old model As are rated at less than 50 (not to mention way more than double of that of the vw engine). Where can one find said article?@@SoloRenegade
@@barnabyandanthonysofficial1497 You'll have to dig into it more yourself. The article was in EAA's January 2022 Sport Aviation magazine.
