God damn almost every prototype these days seem to crash even if pushed 50%. But again it's always good ,when I was designing my rc planes I had lots of crashes too, they taught me way more than any theory ever could
It's so ambitious that you build your own mach 0.9 rc plane. But it seems like you got a lot of help from other people. I would love to see the first real flight soon, so good luck with everything.
People often see success and think it happened overnight bc they only hear about the end of the story. I can tell you this project has hundreds of contributions from Russia to across the USA. The one common thread is Ivan's vision, persistence and focus on the goal. Mala dietz!! C Maier
@@ivanmarkovavia Yes, but interstingly I worked in the circus where we launch humans. If you loop bungee around multiple times it is acheivable. The mechanism needs to be of steel. p.s. why do you use imperial units?
Agree! The only way to launch it from a car like that would probably be to build a narrow and quite tall base to hold it, just so it gets out of the way from the turbulence of the car.
@@OrwellNailedIt Agree on the takeoff, but disagree on using FPV. LoS flying is very easy and natural to people who've spent a bit of time doing it, especially on larger models. I was into RC well before FPV was common, and I fly far better LoS than via FPV. In my opinion it's just another system to go wrong on an experimental aircraft like this, and not really necessary (unless the pilot is much more comfortable with FPV - in which case it might be justified). FPV really shines for things like racing quads, where you're flying a small, fast vehicle which is also lacking on strong visual orientation cues.
What if you put like a metal strip on the bottom of the fuselage just for testing or a thicker bottom of fuselage. Or would that mess up the cg to much
You really need access to a wind tunnel. Perhaps you could build one. If you build it they will come. Hmmm. A wind tunnel for the public... I could use access to that. We could make a portable smoke wand
Maybe take off with an additional wing with a larger area that can be detached and dropped after reaching the required speed, altitude and flight stability?
Could also work with launching the prototype from a bigger plane after it has gained enough altitude to give it a headstart and some acceleration with gravity. That would give the model plenty of margin of error, but for the price of having to build another plane capable of carrying and dropping the prototype. But it would be cool, wouldn't it? 😆
Making a jet engine alone without the backup of billion doller compaines who get all their money from the government and having all the scientists who work out the mathmatics of changing pressures with speed, making it on your own...no. you must have access to what has already been done and what did not work then go from there to progress to what we really need next.
