Hamas is launching just as many air strikes, but Palestine has no defense system, so when Israel hits back, after years of getting bombed with just as little defense, all the media only covers the deaths in Palestine. It's a complicated issue with no real answer, but that's my opinion.

I like the part when the soldier carrying a gun confronted the reporter, "turn off the camera, or I will call the police"... It's very professional. In some other countries, some reporters will be kidnap or even shot.

Though many languages pronounce the word for "police" in a similar fashion, that is not the case in Israel, where "police" is pronounced "mishtara". 2. He is a soldier, so it would be bizarre if he were to call the police.

With all due respect to Hamas and Israel, two wrongs don't make a right. Let it be known that since 1948 Israel has always been threatened with violence from arab states that don't want them there. Hamas has sworn to destroy Israel on numerous occassions. Hamas does fire rockets while hiding among civilians. However, just because Hamas hides amongst civilians, it doesn't give Israel the right to break international law. As a supporter of Israel my frustrations with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Likud party has grown ten fold since 2009. In spite of all the threats, and rockets Hamas could throw at Israel. Israel must be held to account for all the civilans, especially children that have been killed in the name of defending Israel. The last hope for the middle east was Prime Minister Rabin. I think its safe to say Rabin must be rolling in his grave with all the fuckery the Likud party are engaging in.

I find this situation pretty brutal from israel. It's like one person laying down on a sofa and then a second person (israel) coming over punching him in the face and making him move over so he can sit down, then when the original person (the palestinians) gives a small push in defiance, Israel whips out a stanley knife and starts repeatedly stabbing him. Are you serious Israel?? so far 2 israelis have died and one was in a soldier in a friendly fire incident over 270 innocent palestinian civilians have been killed and they don't even mention how many people loose their legs or end up paralysed. I understand going in to defeat hamas, if my country had enemies at the doorstep I would want us to clear them out but when there are that many civilian and child deaths and in some cases they have directly targeted a hospital and water supply lines, it takes one sick bastard to attack these targets just to get one or perhaps 2 terrorists. I know this reporter is trying to get information on the current situation, but even if those soldiers have their official orders with a plan of infiltration and attack, they aren't gonna tell him. It would be dumb to give any information like that away to a source that could be relayed to the enemy.

Regardless of weather you think the incursion is justified or not, these soldiers feel that they are fighting to protect their country and destroy a terrorist cell that threatens their lives and the Gazan people. There is no other army in the world that takes the precautions that they do. Unfortunately as you can see from the video footage in the following dispatches, their can not be morality where there is no morality. Prey that all IDF soldiers come home alive and that civilian casualties are limited and for a true cease fire to begin.

Israel's main interest is not to defeat or discourage Hamas. Hamas is their least important concern in their long term strategy. Group like Hamas will come and go. What's important to Israel is discouraging Palestinians to live as Israel's neighbor, breaking their will to live and give up their remaining lands. Israel needs Hamas to do that.

When North Vietnamese troops launched the Tet offensive and attacked the city of Hue without warning, the civilians abandoned the ENTIRE city. During the War of 1812 , when the British entered Washington D.C., people were in the middle of fleeing. Why do you think they used to fight out side of cities back in the Napolionic times? To save civilians the trouble of having to flee. Why populous, famous cities during the WWII declared open cities? To save the city and prevent civilians from having to flee. It is true that not all people can flee an attacked city and it is also true that people choose to stay after a city is occupied BUT you mean to tell me that thousands of inhabitants inside the Gaza Strip or Fallujah (in Afghanistan) didnt have the chance or ability to flee a city they KNEW had a militarant force in it and was going to be continously attacked by uniformed soldiers? No, they knew and they were/are there to support that militarant group just like civilans were their to support militarants during the Hungaraian Revoultion and Warsaw Uprising. You cant tell me that me that men in uniform and a clear invasion annoucement on t.v. isn't a fair warning, because militarant groups dont do that. They dress like civilians and attack from hidden locations or at night WITHOUT warning. You cant argue that Israel wont accept "Paleistians" or Arabs because thousands (at least) of Arabs, Muslims and Christians live in Israel. ALL of these Israeli Arabs, Muslims, Christians have the choice to move to another country. Israel is surronded by Arab, muslim-friendly nations and Israel holds good relations with Western Christian-friendly nations.
