I appreciate your golden thought. That was a good one. I watched a video where you started your hydroponic garden. I have a small one my husband got me one year fir Christmas. Do you not need air flow? Also I have a question about your self watering system. Lol...I don't understand how it works. I'd love to do that with some of my pots but I don't understand it.

We appreciate you watching our videos and yes, when I read the golden thought, I knew I wanted to share it. In answer to your question on hydroponic gardening. Yes, they need air flow, when we put the cup with a plant in barrel/container the water level only comes about 1/4 up the cup. That leaves the rest of the cup for air flow. As the roots grow drinking up the water the water level gets lower and lower. The time will come the cup itself won't be in water, but the roots will be going deeper and the water level lowers. Self-wicking, we have a video of putting a self-wicking container together. There is corrugated pipe on the bottom with ground fabric covering it so dirt will not be able to get in. The pvc pipe is how we get water down to the bottom of container. So, there is a water reservoir on the bottom and the roots of mature plants can benefit from getting water from there. There is also a hole on the side of the container for overflow of water to come out. The hole is lower than the top of the corrugated pipe so there is also air at the bottom.
