DANNYY, PLEASSSE, unlike Ukrainian ----- they are normal, sane people......not corrupt as ukrainians and idiots and insane - not logical people like ukrainians with their heads in the cloud - unrealistic..
I have visited Romania 3 times and I love it there, I find the country so fascinating, interesting architecture and the scenery if fantastic, the country around Brasov is for me, motorcycle heaven, Transfagarasan and transalpina , Sibiu , just amazing. Bucharest is a well kept secret and well worth a visit.
@@MigthyDucksz24Exactly, post-communist, not post-soviet! For an Eastern European country, Romanian is actually more of a Romance/Latin language, as opposed to slavic as its neighbours are.
@@0Ciju0 Its not ”more of” a romance/latin language. It IS a romance/latin language! Also, yes! I live in Bulgaria myself and ive been to Bucharest once so i am well aware of eastern europe. Romania like Hungary are rather misplaced in linguistic terms. Still the lifestyles arent that much different between all of the eastern, south-eastern (balkan) european countries. Comparing Romania to Bulgaria is like comparing Sweden to Finland. Two countries with different languages, while having very similar people and lifestyle.
The statue in front of the Marriott entrance is the Firefighters monument, remembering the battle of 13th of September 1848, when a small detachment of firefighters supporting a few Army units tried to prevent the city from being attacked by 3 Otoman regiments. That happened pretty much in that area. It ended up in a loss, but it was a heroical "300" kind of thing.
I was "feuding" with a friend from Cluj a while back. Joking about Bucharest vs Cluj, taunting him that Cluj doesn't have a subway system, the usual. And he just landed it on me: "Look who's talking! When the Turkish army attacked you, you had to call the firemen to save you!". I simply burst out laughing, not expecting this bit of trivia from him and declared him the winner of the argument.
@@filipcolumbeanu4845 His comeback was childish and not very well documented - the firefighters were there to support the army. And after all, why not, in case the shit hits the fan, you want more men who are used to face dangers to be there for you. They probably have also been drafted before so they damn well knew how to fire a weapon. Only thing is, you're usually outnumbered when facing the turks :)
What the hell, man! You went to Romania to eat Italian food?!? I'm appalled! Romania has some of the best dishes you'll ever try! What is wrong with you?
Could be worse, could have travelled to the USA and eat what americans like to pretend is something even remotely close to Italian food 🤣 (I wouldn't be surprised if some Americans think Mac N Cheese count as Italian food)
@@teodora7219 That is not the point! Italian Food may be great in Romania, they might even do good Chinese or Indian or whatever. But this is supposed to be a Travel Channel showing different countries and their LOCAL culture, which also includes food. And Romanian food is not exotic, like some Asian cuisine can be, but very hearty, down to earth Food like in most Balkan countries. Open fire spit roast lamb and suckling pig served with roasted potatoes, rice pilaf with vegetables, string beans cooked with tomatoes, garllc, onion and bacon would be a typical Holiday meal. Cabbage rolls stuffed with rice and meat, cooked with smoked meats, called SARMALE, would come before that. MAMALIGA, a cornmeal porridge, like Italian polenta, usually with cheese, comes with most meals. And there are phantastic pastries, just like in Budapest and Vienna, and last, but not least, good wines and brandies to go with the food!!!
Very beautiful vlog ! Thank you for the nice words about our capital! All the best from Romania! And as a small remark, to restore the historical truth, Romania was never part of the USSR!
We are glad you enjoyed your stay in Bucuresti :D Come back anytime and discover more of its hidden gems : The Therme Spas, the Cotroceni neighborhood (filled with old stone villas upon the hill), the friendly workers district of Drumul Taberei and many more :D
If you want something extra in Romania, there is TRANSYLVANIA! Check mountains, villages with medieval churches. The most valuable asset is, no doubts, the PEOPLE. Welcome to Romania!
29:58 all the houses are from 1700-1800s donated by people. Most big romanian cities have one museum like that. It is an omage to the romanian pesant and our old folk country life/heritage. The houses are from diferent regions and climates in order to see how people used by the sea, in mountain area, transilvania, vallwchia, moldova. Interesting to see how climate influences the way the housee are build, but also how diferet regions had different type of houses as Romania is basically 3 provinces which belonged to diferent empires: otomas, austrian, rusian etc
This is obviously a hotel advertisement. I know the hotel, I've been there for various events or at the restaurant and I had a subscription to the gym for several years. It is an elegant hotel that deserves publicity.
@@nataliadumitru3833 Romanians avoid big hotels, in general. But for business people or for those who want to spend more and receive a wider range of services (which many of us consider useless) it is ok. Don't be negative. 😂
Seen from luxury hotels looks good sure thing. I am born and raised in Bucuresti and I am telling you, if you want to see the city and his history follow the river Dambovitza. And ask to see old churches around the town.
Like you, I am no longer a fan of cities like Paris; I prefer upward trends over decay. Glad you enjoyed “the Paris of the East”. Come visit my hometown of Cluj-Napoca and the rest of Transylvania. I appreciate you! Keep pluggin’ away!!
Just to clarify, the Romanian Parliament Building is the 2nd heaviest (not largest as in volume) administrative building in the world. And I've been to Bucharest, I actually wanna go back, I had a good time there!
Well, actually a very few people know that the size is considered as the total square metre of the floorings but considering the huge high rooms of the first floors/levels which are not existing in the Pentagon building the volum of building is probably as well the largest in the world.
"Ceaușescu" is the only leader we Romanians will never bother to correct you on how to say it. It's funny how foreigners manage to give him even better nicknames than us ! 😂😂😂😂
Beautiful city, cool vid! I also liked how you did pronation biceps, before back training, at the gym. lol Actually Ceausescu era was not all gray communism and dictatorship. Besides the Parliament building think about other projects like Transfagarasanu, a mountain dislocated to build 150 km of sinuous road, with the large Vidraru dam on top, for military purpose.
@@Danygotaworldtosee The DEVIL😁 I get what you're saying, but even communism comes in different forms. Most probably MAO was influenced by others, Engels and Marx, his upbringing and awful personality.
When was your video shot? Is it in November? Because the weather looks really nice and we are planning a trip to Bucharest this November. Kindly reply.
Have been following you for quite some time but can't you get your audio production resolved to a state when it is audible in the video ALL the Time. Other wise nice coverage.
the REAL charm of romania is going to the rural/rustical/backwoods area (sadly hard to reach) that equal lord of the rings sights and also dine with locals like it's 1950
Romania has many other cities which are more beautiful than Bucharest like Brasov, Iasi, Constanta, Cluj, Timisoara, Oradea, Rasnov, Alba Iulia etc. which are more tourist friendly cities with more history and touristic attractions
Dani dear, why you didn't expect the city oft Bucharest being what it is: an 800 years old European capital? Even if you travel often you are a bit too ignorant dear! Level up - I suggest- your information. Thanks!.
U gonna visit other cities from Romania also ? Bucharest its not really tourist friendly ^^ Also if u still in Bucharest big tip u shoulnd miss Therme Bucharest .
@@Danygotaworldtosee hi from belgrad at the moment!i like plata universitate to stroll in the nicht.i always avoid lipscani old town and i like walk in universitate.

I am very happy that youre showing Romania to the world but youre still doing a mistake that many travelers do. You arent coming with an open mind. If youre gonna come with the thought of Romania being a communist dirty country then you will only focus and notice those things about the country. I asume you arent going to Berlin thinking about seeing dirty communist buildings even tho Berlin was communist. Yes Romania was communist but thats only a very small percentage of our total history. Its sad that Eastern Europe in general is only depicted by the a the short communist rule compared to 100s of years of history and traditions. Russia did indeed ruin our reputation but at the end of the day Eastern Europe is a diverse place with unique traditions the same way all of Western Europe isnt generalized into on stereotype. Romania for example may have some slavic influences but it still is completely different compared to the rest of Eastern Europe. Our language Romanian may have a few Slavic influences but that doesnt make Romanian any less latin than the other Romance languages. It still is a Latin language. French also has many Germanic influences but it still is considered a Latin language. So should Romanian. Anyway i didnt mean it as hate but just as informing you.
He visited Bucharest as a tourist and liked it and like him are many that like this city. Bucharest is a city that's constantly evolving and reinventing itself, and it's this dynamic spirit that resonates with so many visitors. From its historic landmarks to its modern art galleries, Bucharest offers a captivating blend of old and new. While it's understandable that not everyone will love every city, I believe it's unfair to discourage others from experiencing Bucharest for themselves.
