We travel to China to Guangzhou for the first ever time, find out what we find in the capital of Guangdong.
We're expericing the metro, nightlife and the skyline in Guangzhou
🏨 For all our hotels in China, we booked them through Trip which we genuinely found the best rates on, check out special rates here: trip.tp.st/foe...
🚆 Looking for trains in China? We bought all our trains in China through Trip - it’s not only the most straightforward but it offered the best rates here: trip.tp.st/foe...
📲 the CHEAPEST and BEST eSim company, we've used this brand consistently in China, Europe and they offer deals across the world - they're always half the price of the other eSim brands: mobimatter.com....\
📱 the BIGGEST e-sim company in the world, not as cheap as the above, but well known and we've used them comfortably: airalo.tp.st/b...
🚘 These guys make getting around Asia easy! Especially in South East Asia: 12go.tp.st/dwA...
These are all trusted sites we use regularly, feel free to use them - if you do, please consider using our links as this helps support the channel.

We are Pat & Giulia, a couple from 🇬🇧 and 🇮🇹 living in London.
We decided to go travelling and ended up living getting stuck in Malaysia during 2020 which spurred the creation of this channel, we're now back on the road after a lengthy hiatus!
We're travel enthusiasts who enjoy discovering spots off the tourist trail and don’t like taking ourselves too seriously.
We don't make silly faces for thumbnails, make stuff up for RU-vid or play our best Hollywood roles - if you want that, go search the country and look for 'Can't believe this is..' 'Shocked...', 😂
We dislike the name VeggiesOnTour, but it got stuck with us during Covid in 2020 and we've not been able to shake it since. We are quite well known in Malaysia for it, so it's stuck.
Unfortunately we get a lot of stick online for being vegetarians, believe it or not. So play nice!

10.1-10.7 is China’s National Day holiday. You will see a huge crowd, so please be mentally prepared. So try to avoid attractions that are too popular, otherwise you may collapse if there are too many people.China is relatively free and tolerant. Chinese office workers generally do not need to wear suits. Those who wear suits are usually real estate agents and bank managers. Chinese businessmen generally drive luxury cars or EV cars, so it is difficult to see businessmen on the subway. Japanese society is relatively old-fashioned and formal. It is stipulated that you must wear a suit to work, so you can see suits on the subway. The entire Japanese society is relatively lifeless and lifeless. You rarely see Japanese smiles on the Japanese subway. Japan's technology is very backward. I only saw the news last year that the Japanese government agency finally phased out the 3.5-inch floppy disk (an antique product from 30 years ago). I was shocked!

1. what you eat is Chongqing noodle, it's a chain restaurant, you will see lots of Chongqing noodle everywhere in the street. 2. China has 10000km metro system in more than 60 cities. 9 of 10 cities with the most longest metro system in the world are from China. 3. People in China especially in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, they don't need wear a suit to work, it's more close to US style, you can wear what you want. more people like the casual style.

05:39 Everything in Japan came from China, including its people except for the so-called aborigines, like Burakumins, Ainus, etc. Some things which seem to be firmly established "facts", like Japanese Karate actually came from Fujian in China. The elaborate Japanese tea ceremony (茶道 or "The Way of Tea") or chanoyu (茶の湯) was copied directly from that of the Tang Dynasty yet in spite of the cultural appropriation, Japan claims them as their own and never really openly acknowledged that they came from China (except for Son Goku or Sun Wukong in Dragon Ball). What do you expect? The people actually came from China, after all. All this had been fully documented in Chinese literature and historical archives on paper and bamboo scripts, etc. The Chinese have a joke that the Japanese and their culture are Tang Dynasty fossils. So, everything can be traced back to China. The cat called Maneki Neko 招き猫 in Japan is known as 招财猫 or Zhao Cai Mao in Mandarin Chinese.

Nice video, thanks for sharing. It doesn't have to end after your first visit to China. There's many many other cities and places to visit on your second trip to China. Aside from the big megacities, try a different scenery. The rural areas of the Yunnan province with ancient towns of Lijiang, Dali and Shangri-La will blow your mind of what China's countryside looks like.

Is ok to comes across now and again rude ppl on local area, you don't have to negative about your own country. I only can think why they act that way because some ppl got no patient to wait or something. I come across one when me and my partner visit Penang Island and one of the noob just horn and swear at us while we getting into the car with bags and etc. F me ppl like got a short fuse xD. Like I said that kind of ppl exist all over the world 😂 I prefer to order face to face the old fashion way but I did come across McDonald's you have the optional to order through machine 😊 in UK your own country haha. Yes I love the Chinese chilies oil I call it. The noodle you like. Its available in UK as long as you visit to Chinese supermarket you can get them in UK too 😊. One of my favourite hot food. Beside sambal Malaysia, I do love Chinese spicy flavour too haha. I also did tried Korea its call Korea Kimchi? If you already tried then you know what I mean I love it too 😊. Congrats to your gf got the White 🙀 lucky cat wahhh 😂😊 Suits and tie its a British thing in it? I think China already adapts lots of Western stuff. They even borrow the technology from UK and improve it in China. Which is great. China known to be factory for the world... Slave for the world making stuff and now China have right to experience luxury Western life style haha. I'm so envy BTW. They even have fake France tower thingy in China or London tower or London wheel China got it haha. Not just that they even managed to 100% duplicate old British building style and make one on their own how great is that. That way local Chinese ppl don't have to go to UK or France anymore haha. You will see them in Guangchow or Shanghai I forgot where they are now in China sorry. You have to do some research 😊 Hope you found explore more of China in depth lol. You only have seen like 1% of metro city in China. You have not yet seen the beauty of China in rural area, holiday place and proper Chinese village 😊 also I'm sure you will come across dark poor area, back of building abit dirty. You get them in Malaysia UK and China I'm sure. Atm you at metro city tourist area. Sorry I comment more next time. Keep post lovely video of China lor. Also if you want to see more of China do rent car to travel different places lor. Enjoy your holiday plus adventure 😊

you don't have to buy metro tickets each time. there is a transport mini-app within your payment app that you can set up. it will generate a qr code you can scan to enter and exit the metro. no need to waste time picking out lines and destination! did you check out the driverless bus? or the lightshow? as others mentioned, your videos are too short lol

The suit question is probably because 1) the weather doesn’t permit and makes suits wearing difficult 2) guangzhou isn’t a financial hub like Shanghai or Hong Kong

11:28 It was probably still summer or early autumn (fall), so the businessmen don't wear suits except when indoors. They are more chill (and less rigid) in that sense. Yeah... but most businessmen do wear suits. 😄😃😀

China has the lowest electricity production cost in the world, which is why electricity is abundant, and people don’t need to worry much about their electricity bills. When I lived in Shanghai, electricity during off-peak hours was only $4 cents per kilowatt-hour.
