Sorry everyone, our sound cut off at 14:23 - 15:01. Ivana was saying how she was surprised by Iași because she thought it would be in the middle of nowhere. But in fact, it’s a very lively city with tons of happening around. Ivana loved the vibes of Iași.❤️🇹🇩

14:24 - 15:08 - the sound stoped to work, would be nice some text adding to it+ it could be really cool to leave romanians to add translation text to the video in Romanian I think you just open a new bully path ;)) Lași = cowards => So the confusion was hilarious for those who don't live in Iași. Don't worry we are mock just people which are full of themself/ arrogance like Cluj-Napoca/Bucharest

Indeed, the vibe of The City is unique. The big amount of universities makes the city a center of youth between september and june each year. In july and august the city is so quite. I am glad you visit my city, from your first video în România i wondered if you ll visit Iași. I hope you ll also visit the catholic cathedral and the bothanical garden wich is in Copou, a really nice Street for sunset walks. Take care of you and can t wait for your next video. 🥰

@montiswd1620 - In Iași City there is also a famous Electronics Faculty where Bill Gates uses to get the first 6 graduates each year. Actually, the 3rd language spoken at Microsoft Seattle is...Romanian, after English and Hindi. Iași is not a town since it has over 360,000 inhabitants which makes it 1/3 of Stockholm population or if in Sweden it would be the 3rd city after the capital and Göteborg.

Hey Steve, just few historical facts. Romania was build in 1859 when Wallachia and Moldavia (two old Romanian countries) selected the same leader (Alexandru Ioan Cuza). The first name was United Principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia. In 1866, a new constitution was adopted and the name was changed in Romania. In the same year, Romania elected her first king, Carol the First (from the German family of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen). In 1877, after a war against Ottoman Empire, allied with Russia, Romania obtained his independence. Unfortunately, Russia showed his intentions when they choose to keep the eastern part of Moldova. Romania obtained in 1878 Dobruja. In 1918, at the end of the WWI, Romania obtained Transylvania and also the actual country of Moldova. In 1940, Romania lost the northern part of Transylvania to Hungary and the actual country of Moldova to USSR. After the WWII, Romania regain the Transylvanian regions but the eastern part of Moldova remain under USSR. Today that part in an independent country, Moldova. I will close this with a link to see who was Stephen the Great: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CKFhubbLQd0.html. You will like it! Greetings guys!!

you are incorrect about the Russians taking Basarabia in 1877. It was stolen by the russian in 1812, when Napoleon "gifted" it, along with other teritories, to Tzar Alexander, in order to suck up to royalty. Napoleon was as bad at reading people, as he was good at war or administration.

Moldova is one of the three big romanian regions that came toghether to form Romania. Unfortunatly the eastern half of Moldova was captured by the soviets, was heavily russified by bringing people from Siberia, propaganda etc and turned into a republic that is today the country of Moldova.
@dracowar6
@dracowar6 2 года назад
We lost the eastern half to the russians in 1812 when Napoleon gifted it to Tzar Alexander to suck up to him. Literally. He wanted to "have a friend" among the rulers or Europe, so he gave away half of Moldova, among other territories. Exactly like the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact 140 years later. After selling Basarabia to the Russians, both napoleon and hilter got exactly what they deserved for playing God.

Spot on, Steve. Stephen is a name of pedigree! I know the Romanian Church canonised Stephen the Great in the early 90s, so he's now Saint Stephen the Great or Stephen the Great and Holy. The first king of Hungary is also a Saint Stephen (reigned from about 1000 AD). So you got a classy name right there, Steve.

there in this Palace from Iasi was celebrated the first union of romanians - Moldova and Wallachia (Wallachia is the name gave by foreigners ,we say actually - Tara Romaneasca) in 24 January , 1859...this Palace is huge historical for romanians ,obviously... Transylvania was added in 1st December , 1918 , after WW1 , forming exactly the current display of Romania on map (like we see it in 2021) Tara Romaneasca+Moldova+Transilvania+Dobrogea regions = Romania in 2021

The official name was Wallachia Transalpina not Tara Romaneasca.Tara Romaneasca was an alternative name.
@Indimenticabil
@Indimenticabil 2 года назад
@@Bogdan-uu5oe Tara Romaneasca was a real local name. In romanian there were no such terms as vlach or Wallachia. Wallachia is an exonym, used only by foreigners.

@@Indimenticabil So why the Wallchian voievodes and princes signed as Woivoda/Princepes Walachei Transalpine? Țara Româneascã is used in Neacșu's letter, Neacșu was a merchant not a ruler.
@Indimenticabil
@Indimenticabil 2 года назад
@@Bogdan-uu5oe They signed like that in letters or documents related to foreigers (papacy, kings, or other european voivodes etc) because for foreigners / in foreign languages, that's how the name of romanians/romanian principalities was known. For exemple, Stephen the Great in a letter to the Venetian senate speaks about "two Wallachia", the first being his (Moldova) and the other (original text "l’altra Valachia") being Tara Romaneasca.

Pljeskavica is not necessarly a traditional Romanian dish, it is actually a Serbian dish, but it is basically a flat version of "mici" and we adopted it :)

W8, what? I thought they only serve it in Western Romania, close to the Serbian border. However, Romanian pljeskavica tastes no different from mici. I prefer the authentic one from Serbia tbh.

@@JetLagWarriors You can travel with an old steam train called Mocănița. It is taken from Vişeu de Sus. This way you can enjoy the beautiful landscape there. Then, you can visit the merry cemetery (Cimitirul vesel), in Săpânța. You can stay in one of the villages of Maramures and observe the customs and life there. The old Romanian traditions are still kept there. You can search the net for more information. Enjoy. 😊
