Did you know that Jakarta is the only capital city in Southeast asia that has multiple islands with beautiful white sandy beaches and coral reefs? yes, they are called Kepulauan Seribu (thousand islands), highly recommended to go there while in Jakarta. Just go to the Muara Angke Port in Jakarta Utara, and take a speedboat from there to thousand islands. have fun
Yes thank you I was just reading about that! Interesting in Ontario, Canada where I (Jenn) am from there is also an area called the 1000 islands! We will visit these island on our next visit as we are focusing our time on Jakarta and possibly a day trip to Bandung if we have time! The natural places in Bandung are really amazing.. the weather is cool, different with Jakarta 😅 While in Jogjakarta, there is more cultural places and more local.. In Jakarta, you can try to explore the city with different kinds of transportation.. Commuter line, bus, or even MRT. Most foreigners try and experience the public transportation here too 😁 Have a nice day 💞

It's very large and interesting for both of you. I live at Surabaya Metropolitan the second big city in Indonesia.

Most of the city of Jakarta is in the process of renewal. a lot of road repair work, subway mode of transportation. fast trains and relocation of roadside markets so that the city of Jakarta in the future will be more beautiful and comfortable for pedestrians
Thank you for the comment. Yes when the MRT is complete that should help ease the traffic and when the capital is moved to Kalimantan that should also ease things up with all of the politicians moving etc

Hi Jenn and Leon..welcome to Jakarta.. for hotel i though better you stay in central Jakarta area such wahid hasyim area (behind Sarinah Mall). There are many good hotel with affordable price there and the best value is its near with public transportation, mall and some sight seeing area. You can walk from there to Bundaran HI (Grand Indonesia Mall), Monumen Nasional (Monas), National Museum ( Museum Gadjah), Istiqlal Mosque and Jakarta Cathedral or culinary street Jalan Sabang. This area also near with Tanah Abang Textile Market ( its the biggest in South East Asia), so you can find many affordable clothing there. Most things to do in Jakarta is jogging in CAR FREE DAY on SUNDAY morning from 06.00 to 10.00 am start from Monas (Mh Thamrin street) to Sudirman Street. ENJOY JAKARTA ..

We have been here for almost 1 month now so after we will go to Malaysia for one month and then the philippines for one month and then we will return to JAVA for a month to explore the island more!
It's definitely a tight fit right now but it will help relieve the pressure and traffic congestion in the future! We enjoyed the hotel and it's easy to get around with Grab! But yes not ideal for walking at the moment!
