(Mamounia) After 20 years, King Mohammed VI, like his father previously, ordered the renovation of El Mamounia, which closed its doors in 2006 for works that lasted until September 2009. After three years and spending 120 million euros, the hotel reopened and its environment, designed by Jacques Garcia, is clear and dark, shaded and mesmerized. This renovation is for a 2 500 m2 mineral bath sponsored by Shiseido Japan. With this renovation, the number of workers reached 800, and the price rose drastically 🇲🇦

I've remembered spending 10 days in Marrakesh on my 2nd visit to Morocco which included the 3 day Sahara tour. Jardin Marjorelle was a nice relaxing place to visit but the Djemaa el Fna square is crazy. The Koutobia Mosque and the surrounding gardens was nice, but we went to the Medina and visited Saadian Tombs and Bahia Palace. Also went to Ben Youssef Madrassa, Agdal Gardens, and Badi Palace. We did quad biking in Palmaraie outside Marrakesh too. Did day trips to Imlil (Toubkal National Park) in the Atlas, Agadir, Ouzoud Waterfalls and Casablanca (to visit Hassan II Mosque) as well as the 3 day Sahara tour which covers Tizi Tichka (highest pass in the Atlas), Ait Ben Haddou heritage site, Ouarzazate, Dades Gorge, Todra Gorge, Merzouga, Erg Chebbi sand dunes in the Sahara as well as staying in the bedouin camp

just like watching disney's mm movie ALADIN in real time and molly looks like one of the character by wearing that outfit.and the man that gave tea to you had a little resemblance to antonio banderas when look at him at a certain angle.

Interesting video! Just a couple points of clarification, as we just returned from Marrakech, stayed a week in Riad Camilia. 1) you characterized the Soux as being 'touristy'. It is the home and business community of thousands of Moroccans and Berbers who live within it's walls. It is as much 'touristy' as any shopping center or mall in our respective communities 2) to suggest that walking outside the Soux you would get better prices is not factual. You will get better prices by haggling - it's not like there is this secret border you crossed after you left the soux. Any length of time truly discovering beyond your 24hrs, you would have realized that the "starting" prices are not that different. Candidly, they may have seen you as opportunistic at the shop(s) you were at (esp. with your camera) and jacked up that starting price accordingly :)

I will travel almost anywhere, any time. The one place--the only place--I'll never go back to: Marrakech. The harassment, intimidation, scams, grifts, price switching, product switching, incorrect change, it's like a gleeful game to the locals, who then complain that their feelings get hurt when you call them out on it. It's all fucking exhausting. If you go there, expect to hand out all your money to pay for vlogging videos and photos.

من الملحوظ ان كثيرا من السواح الانكلوسكسونيين يلاحظون أول الأمر تأثير فرنسا ومخلفاتها في عدد من الأمور عدا اللغة. ثم يكتشفون ان هناك كذلك ثراتا عتيقة يكرس حضارة مذهلة. وعليه وجب التخلص من كل ما يغطي او يحجب حقيقة الحضارة المغربية العريقة . أما مسألة الكحول والجعة فهي أضحوكة و سمعتم ماذا قالوا : أغلى جعة في العالم!!

I just came back from Marrakech and stayed 3days that was plenty for me interesting culture and nice food, good portion sizes but too crazy messy,bikes everywhere.

Just out of dumb luck we ended up buying a teapot from a guy who looks very similar to the guy who sold you the scarf. The shop looks different but he told the same story of handing off to his brothers and being from the Sahara. He showed us all those silver rings from the trunk. He insisted on making us tea with our new teapot. Maybe it was his brother. We like mint tea now so we needed a teapot.

Moroccans can speak Arabic but the actual Moroccan language is not Arabic. It's a dilect of Arabic. They use Arabic words Spanish and French and berber depending on which region your in.
