This is also my first time seeing Lima, and it is really cool! Its coastline and park are so beautiful. I like the mosaic tiles in the park, which is very reminiscent of Barcelona, Spain! That Lima cultural site is well preserved, but curious what to do when it rains? Peruvian corn kernels are really big, I probably haven’t seen any one bigger than that. Thank you very much for sharing! 👍🥰🙏
Los Picarones look like doughnuts but it does not taste the same, it is different, soifter and with the syrup is very good. Peruvian Ceviche/Cebiche is a delicious dish, like many others.delicacy dishes from there.

So glad you are in my home country, Lima is beautiful and you will fall in love with Cusco ( hope altitude sickness doesn’t ruin your stay there) , and the picarones are not for breakfast , enjoy Peru
Love Peru! In Lima dinner at La Rosa Nautica. Main plaza at night is beautiful. Drivers in Lima are crazy. Love Cusco, Terapoto, Loreto, Ausangate, Manchu Picchu. The train to Manchu Picchu is epic. Swam in the Amazon every day.
Chris & Carol: I wish you guys safe journeys & good luck to you guys for heading Lima,Peru to visits these remarkable historical Landmarks this week in October of 2023❤❤❤
Peru, 🇵🇪 also known as the millennial country of CULTURAL DIVERSITY and 5,000 flavors. It is the only country in the world with at least 8 types of cuisine: Creole, Marine, Andean, Amazonian, Nikkei, Chifa, Vegetarian and Haute cuisine. And CEVICHE is part of the Marine cuisine of Peru. According to the Guines Record, Peru has the record of 491 typical dishes, thus becoming the country with the largest number of typical dishes in the world. It also has 2,500 native soups, 250 desserts and more than 3,000 varieties of potatoes. We can feel proud that God has blessed us with a gastronomy that is unique in the world. 🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪
Great to see videos from Peru. Apart from the Cusco area there is a great coastal run. The historic centre of Arequipa is great. You can also head to the Colca canyon. Nasca then to fly the lines. Haucochino oasis for the great sand dunes. Paracas for wild life off the coast.
Enjoyed your video of Lima. I spent a few days there a few years ago on my way to Machu Picchu. You covered many of the places I also went to. I was surprised you could take photos in the cathedral. When I went we could not. I was also surprised you did not go into the catacombs. There they had the bones of up to 28000 people. It was a bit spooky but interesting. They definitely did not allow photos down there then. I am glad you saw the Love Park and the ruins in the city. I also stumbled upon those ruins when there. Too bad you did not get a chance to go to the Aquapark next to the stadium. It is an amazing place also. Something else I saw there was the changing of the guard at the Presidential Palace. That was a good experience. You were there next to the palace though. One food that is unique to Peru is the Guinea pig. I did not see you trying that lol 😂 You may know there is a place in the Sacred Valley called the Sky Lodge. Several RU-vidrs have stayed there. You can see it from the train to Aguas Caliente. Good luck on your Peruvian travels.
I haven’t visited Peru in over 6 years, this video is making me want to go back. I did the paragliding in Larco Mar, it was such an amazing experience with breathtaking views.
Looks like Lima has improved since I was there in the late 90's. Back then they had just vanquished the Shining Path guerillas, who'd forced tons of people into huge slums around the city. Miraflores is the best neighborhood still.
yeap!! fortunately things have changed since those gloomy times.....The City Centre of Lima has also started recovering little by little its brightness.....
@@billyholic There's around 8 districts in Lima which are decent to live in, so not really that bad, obviously the outskirtrs are all slums but you don't really go there unless you are broke
I love Lima 🇵🇪 and Peru, my mom’s country. We just visited a couple weeks ago. Love your channel and videos BTW! I wish to do the same as you guys in the future 😊
When you get to Cusco, eat at Organika restaurant. Delicious food, from farm to table. If you have time, definitely recommend seeing Arequipa and Colca Canyon too.
This place must have changed so much - I was there in '86 and we were warned not to walk around too much since it would be too dangerous for foreigners! So we just walked through the modern part of Lima, from Miraflores, to the travel agency to reconfirm our flights... which was also in vain, actually none of our flights worked all right by that time and we spent a lot of time at airports during the 2 weeks! Saw Cuzco, Iquitos, Machu Picchu.
Well, to compare that Peru of your visit in 1986 to this Peru 2023 is like to compare Germany to any african country in the middle of a civil war.....yes, like any latin american country, Lima and the rest of the country still have very unsafe neighborhoods but on average, the country is safe.....I recommend you to visit Peru now, you will enjoy not only Inka´s ruins but also very good food.... =)👍
Hiya. Chris and Carol. Happy Friday and Weekend. How lovely you arrived when the flower fair was there. That cat looked well-fed. Taking a snooze in the afternoon. He looked like he had eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner. ☺He looked out of it. You two are brave to do paragliding. My knees go funny thinking about it. I did parasailing. Never again. Mile high up. Scared the life out of me. 🤣😆 Gorgeous views. Perfect waves for surfing. Informative tour around. Sad to hear the history of the sacrifices. Interesting about the animals and agriculture. The cathedral is beautiful. Very interesting all the art and tombs. Beautiful walking streets. The colourful buildings. Beautiful. I have never seen anything like that. The man who was dancing with the doll. I thought it was real at first. ☺😂 Those pigeons must have been annoying. Your food looked tasty. Agree. Like you said. I have never seen corn that size. The donuts looked delicious. Great price to stay with breakfast. Lovely hotel with chill-out areas. Lovely video. Thank you for sharing. Wishing you a lovely weekend. See you on the next one.
Yes we thought it was a woman at first dancing until they spun around haha. Cheers once again Nicky for the nice comments and observations. Have a great weekend!

After experiencing the culinary delights of the Americas, I can confidently say that Lima-Peru is the food capital of the whole continent, with top-notch and incredibly delicious cuisine.👍💓
The trick to getting a sim card in miraflores without queues is the saga falabella store if i remember 3rd floor they have 2 or three different providers that strictly do sim cards for foreigners. Maybe locals as well.
A local told us about a little store that was just one block from that claro store, so we ended up getting the sim card there the day after and we topped it up at the pharmacy :D
Yeah you can do that too. But a little more difficult. Typically the folks in falabella sell the sim with a data package so no reason to go all over if you dont have to :) good luck and check out suterito maketto.
Hola, my favorite couple, you are living my dream. Love your content. I am trying to catch up on your travels, but you won. Next, I am going to peru and gatamala. be safe one love🖤💚💛
Peru is probably the most exciting food country I have visited, the fusions of food cultures from all over the world is amazing. Guinea pig is overrated though... Incidentally I witnessed a robbery at gunpoint at that exact intersection you start the video, shots fired up in the air and a lot of screaming... quite surprising as it was around ten o'clock on a saturday morning.
@@JumpingPlaces It was in march (during carnival) 2019, which actually is a good time of year to visit Peru and Machu Picchu as its in between the rainy season and tourist season. We spent half day in Machu Picchu without any crowds. Carnival traditions in Peru differs a lot from Brazil (they are throwing water on each other)
I will be in peru for the first time in 2 weeks. Me and gf who is from there will be staying 3 weeks. I am nervous bc of the crime but this video made me feel slightly better.😅
Lima is awesome! You gotta try the alpaca steak in Cusco, it’s so yummy and soft. Are you hiking the Inca trail or taking the train to Aquas Calientes?
I cannot wait to try this restaurant very soon! Also, traveling to Peru, if you don’t have a lot of money and time to travel to Peru, would staying only Lima and traveling only there without Machu Pachu, would be a good experience without going to Machu Pachu?
Lima was nice, used it as a base for 3 months. That was def a regret. Horrible traffic, loud honking. I'd return, but if I never went back, that would be fine. Airport also leaves a lot to be desired.
I'm Canadian, but I'm glad you had a positive experience in Peru. On the contrary, I had a different experience, as people called me 'chino' or 'chinito' almost every single day. I felt so sad why the people in the country so meant to me
Awe don’t take it as disrespect. A lot of Peruvians call themselves chino and that’s their nickname. Chinito is actually a term of endearment because of the “-ito, ”It’s not intended to offend you. There are a lot of Peruvian-Chinese people and many of our plates are fusion of Chinese and Peruvian food.
