Lived for four years in Khartoum, in the eighties. Went to Comboni College. Best days of my life. Love the country. Such a shame about the coups, battles and overall insecurity nowadays. Beautiful people, left a lot of friends down there.

I lived in Khartoum as a child in the late 1940’s.,and went to Sister’s School near the Catholic Church. It was much cleaner then!

@@jayeff6712 Yes….They also never questioned that I regularly escaped and went across the road to swim in the Sudan Club pool. I was 7 years old and no adult in sight ,I could have drowned.

Every thing is nice but next time it's good to have some candies for a kid . So cute kids, you have to have always something for children when you visit these countries , and I think since the gasoline is expensive there , 1 dollar for rickshaw is very cheap. These two words -cheap and expensive ,you can hear many times in this video💕

Hey you I am admired the way you edited the video covering the raw life of Sudanese with no make up and the invitations you accepted and greeting were in natural way. And the negotiations and the escape art with the shopkeepers and drivers you bet are so so true. And of course the locations like market, nursery, bus stand, tuk-tuk stop and the very your instant opinion on the visa centers, hotel views, etc., etc. Especially you madam who disagreed to have a tea on the road-side shop is quite natural as most women prefer to stay reserved on their style and comfort in a hygienic way. Expensive, expensive, expensive you would have told at least 10 times shows it's really costly. Your immediate response to the child beggars at times of no money in your hand. But one opinion over the "Calling of Prayer" through loud speaker in Egypt felt screaming for you shouldn't have been generalized. The word scream degrades. However you opinioned whole-heartedly. The word "Sudan means Safe" is no more good and very particularly Khartoum is in danger today.

I think that the glaring underdevelopment is a result of decades of US sanctions. Sanctions are sometimes worse than war, they can devastate an entire country's economy and cripple its health sector. Praying for peace for Sudan. 💪

Is trash littering the streets a sign of "under-development" or simply a lack of hygiene? You don't need to de developed to arrange an organized system of garbage collection and disposal. Khartoum is the capital and if that is viewed as "undeveloped" what about the rest of the country?

Sadly, Sudan has been through 15 coups since gaining independence in 1956. Also, there’s been several civil wars, killing over 1.5 million people, and splitting the country up. It’s a mess, and I don’t see it improving anytime soon.
