The Palace of Culture and Science is no longer the tallest building in Poland, it is the building visible next to it, i.e. the Varso Tower. Varso Tower is also probably the highest in the EU.
@@LDNpat Wrong. the antenna counts-according to official measures.: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tallest_buildings_in_the_European_Union Also Shard top roof is 244m (not 309m)
Just to inform, palm tree at Jeruzalem avenue was set here on order to commemorate "small Jeruzalem", a jews settlement from XVIIIc. Each symbol, monument, sign etc on Warsaw has some connection to history :)
Love your videos, I live in Australia & my local Doctor is Polish, its taken me years to get used to his strong accent. Fabulous cities & country, you seem to be enjoying the culture. Stay safe with the current outbreak of war in Ukraine. We keep praying for Peace!
This tarrace on Palace is on 140 m height, in a year or even this year new tarrace will open on Varso Tower on 230m high so twice as high and it will have trees on the tarrace!
I love your videos! So inspirational. I just booked five weeks holiday in Poland. I'll keep watching your old videos. You're the best. Enjoy and stay safe
Wow so beautiful country thank you for sharing with us my idols still nice adventures so awesome beautiful building wow take care guy’s and always enjoy your journey 👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰👌👌👌
You're warmly welcome to Tanzania in this coming summer season which starts from June - October and see the large group of wildebeest migrants from one place to another. The Great Wildebeest Migration is the largest animal migration in the world. Every year, more than 2 million animals (wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle) are in the northern Serengeti plains, and you have a chance of seeing up to thousands crossing the river. As the sight of the wildebeest crossing is so dramatic, it is considered by many and the most desirable time to see the migration.
Polish people say that the best view of Warsaw is from the observation deck at the top of the Palace of Culture..why ? Because you cant see the Palace of Culture. 😀 .
@@dabbleandtravel and in most cases actually true . It is because it is ugly and reminds them of Russian occupation behind the iron curtain. Many smaller Russian statues in provincial towns have been removed and probably most of them will be , now that there is the Ukrainian issue .
The stadium you have seen it’s the Polish National Stadium. The Legia Warsaw stadium is located almost in the same place but on the same side of the river as you are standing
Harriet and i were there in the summer of 2019 . We enjoyed the architecture and the lonely palm tree. What great memories we had. The views from your drone are stunning. Thank you for taking us along. Hope you did something special for each other on Valentine's Day Sending you lots of love💖💖 Jim and Harriet. Richmond, Va.
3:11 It's the tallest building for now, because construction of Verso Tower(third on left of Palace of scince) is on finisch, and this 310m tall building will take first spot on list of the tallest buildings in poland and EU
The tallest building is the one with jetsons style needle at the top. To the left at the beginning. It has a viewing terrace that's 100m above the one that you were at. Not sure when they're opening it though.
Excellent vlog. Thinking of returning in a few weeks. The summer vibe is completly different they have little artificial beach bars along the river. Also an excellent time to go to all the parks
This seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
I suggest you visit two places "Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego" (Warsaw Uprising Museum) and Centrum Nauki Kopernik ( kopernik Science Center) that two places are must seen in Warsaw you will not regret.
Go to Lublin :) In some summer afternoon, I think it has the prettiest Old Town in Poland, totally different that all the others, more like Prague I would say, with small streets and lots of artistic instalations on the building walls.
In fact, the modern city centre with the Palace of Culture and other high-rise buildings that you saw at the beginning is not "the new town". The New Town (Nowe Miasto in Polish) is the official name of the district that starts a few metres north of the Old Town. This historic New Town was built as late as in the 14/15th century, hence the name :)
WARSAW really SAW the WAR, looking at the pctures from 1945 I wouldnt even know where to start rebuilding it... anyway, happy to see it like this now x
12:15 right down there, behind you, in that courtyard that was once the property of the owner of the palace that hosts hotel Indigo nowadays, there is a number of shot bars (more than 20 probably) with the most amazing night life you could experience. I really hope you discovered it while staying in the hotel and would show it in one of your next videos. If you haven't, then... well, look around you more carefully next time, sometimes you can find unexpected gems if you do.
Congratulations for your nice pictures of the town. An other piece of information : Warsaw city has several interesting museums, f.e. the remarkable Polin.
In My opiniom Poland is the place to traveling. itli's amazing Gdańsk, Malbork, Toruń, Warszawa, Lublin, Łódź, Kraków, Katowice, Wrocław, Poznań, Szczecin
That cheese is not oscypek, it can only be bought in mountain region and some places in Małopolskie where it is brought by highlanders , it's a local product and cannot be made anywhere else 👍
It's actually illegal to sell 'Gołka' cheese as 'Oscypek'. Gołka is 2 maybe 3 times cheaper to make because it uses cow milk instead of sheep (they're milked only in the season and you can't preserve the cheese quality). It was a common practice between dishonest shop owners to sell it to tourists. Nowadays they try some crafty ways to name them like: a'la Oscypek or something like this haha. Oscypek is not necessarily better though. A lot of people prefer Gołka.
Goddamn you two, after watching this you make me wanna go there and see it. And me being Polish and living in Poznań, I don't like Warsaw that much ^^ But you two are bloody convincing, I'll give you that. Anyway, reconsider visiting Poland again during summer, it's worth it.
Thanks for mention the 15km. I will be there in 4 weeks. I will not walk the 15km too🤣. The Palm is actually one of the most famouse trees in Poland I think.
@@JPAGH I think you should check exchange rate first mate as even in February British pound was about 5.30 zloty and above so if you caculute 20 zloty it will convert to about £3.70 not £7 😎
I remember he told me that it was meant to show from air/space that it is USSR ground, but I hope someone has more and better info about this ☺️ (he is from Warsaw though)
Hi guys, I'm planning a trip for April next year and I still can't decide between Warsaw and Gdansk or Belgrade as a base with day trips to Novi Sad, Nos, Subotica and Tara National Park.
@@dabbleandtravel so, I'll have 8 to 9 days next April and I thought maybe 4 days in Warsaw and 4 days in Gdansk or 8/9 days in Belgrade with day trips to the aformentioned cities. My priorities are mainly food and good attractions, all for a reasonable price.
My Grandfather was from Warsaw (though his Dad and family were actually born in, what is NOW, Ukraine (Kiev) but was part of the Russian Empire back then. His family is STEEPED in awesome History and I was hoping to visit Warsaw or possibly Suwalki - can anybody recommend any good British restaurants/shops, etc, as we are a family of very picky eaters! Lol! But we'd really really love to visit for a short break just to experience it and look at family History.
