Great idea for an episode-- and, maybe, it's the only way that you two can get around to playing some of those games that you've always meant to try. Hopefully this will become a series. I really enjoy hearing loose/off-the-cuff impressions within the first couple of hours of play.
Great idea for a video guys! Every gamer has a backlog that haunts them. Another great topic to make a series of vids out of. All your videos always introduce me to at least one or two games I've never seen before and would want to try out, thanks for all the quality content!
This is such a great idea...and it's something collectors deal with in terms of their own collections. I am down for tons more of this type of episode.
Thank you, Game Sack. You consistently put out quality videos. They have great production value, use obscure games, have interesting review commentary, and great humor. We appreciate it. Keep them coming
I hope there's another back log video, I'm going through all your episodes in order till I have watch them all. Love this show that much. Keep up the good work lads. 175 episodes down, god knows how many more :)
Gun is one of my favorite games on the PS2. I wish you would have mentioned the all star cast (Thomas Jane, Chris Christopherson, Lane Hendrickson, Ron Pearlman etc.) and all the references to classic Western movies in the levels, and the game is way more fun and intense on the Hard setting. I really loved that game.
Yet another excellent video..that has kept me up past normal sleeping hours! GUN is an amazing game and in my opinion quite underrated...def. in my top 5 ps2 games.
This is something the young folks out there don't seem to understand when it comes up, usually about why i don't play RPG's with tons of grinding. The (gaming) struggle is real.
Yeah same here. I've been wanting to play Lunar SSS so bad, but it's hard after a long work day. Not like when i was a kid and could throw in a solid 30 to 40 hours in an rpg in a week or so, lol.
Hi super great American video game enthusiast friends! Just wanted to check in with my favorite Colorado guys and let you know that your RU-vid entertainment video productions are, as always, keeping my bowels healthy and regular! I was just watching this superb display of human friendship while doing the dumping and there was red in there! Yikes! I thought that perhaps my uncontainable enjoyment of your hit internet series had finally blown a blood vessel in my dung bucket, but in fact it was just the red Gatorade I had consumed to refresh myself today! Crisis averted! All thanks to your powerful friendship! America and video games are awesome! Goodbye for now!
Toe Jam & Earl 3 actually looks a lot cooler than i was expecting. I actually want to buy it now after seeing that. It's for sure gotta be better than the horrid panic on funkatron one that was a 2d platformer.
Out of all of the games that I have finished Shape Shifter was one of the more challenging games for me. That final boss took me a while to finally defeat.
Love this episode idea! I have an original Xbox that I picked up last year with about 20 games; 19 of those games are part of my backlog. Of course, that's only the beginning of my backlog...
Spawn: In The Demon's Hand and Powerstone 2 was all myself and my friends ever played back in the day. Countless hours kicking each others assess from dusk till dawn. Such good times.
As has already been said, great idea for an episode, guys! I hope to see more like it. It's the perfect reason for you guys to play games that you haven't gotten around to playing yet, and if you guys haven't played a game before, it's very likely that it'll be new to me (and just about everyone else) too. :)
I loved Gun, such a great and underrated game with a really impressive and atmospheric soundtrack. I remember getting it for Christmas back when it first came out, I spent all day in my room playing it. Too bad they never made a sequel.
15:00 OMG that game! Me and my brother would play 2v2 or battle royale with a 4 cabinet set up at the arcade every weekend when I was younger. That place would get packed. Also, the boss spawns after you kill enough of the smaller enemies, or eventually if you're just slow.
The random games episodes are some of my favorites. The end was hilarious. Reminds me that we always had that one friend with sweaty palms when gaming together and when they pass it off you're like did you lick the controller? Then you had friends who licked controllers...
Omg yea Gun! Still one of my absolute favorites ever. It was one of the first games for my 360 that I actually hooked up to a sweet HD computer monitor after playing on a CRTTV and omg! It was like night and day!
That track in the credits, Tobal 2 - The Speeder, is so catchy!! i love some of the cool tunes you all have introduced me to. My uncle had that game when it came out and i was a teen, and i always wanted it after loving the first one but i didn't have a jp ps1. I need to get one and relive the memories.
Look forward to a part 2 you guys seemed to enjoy playing some games you haven't had a chance to. Who knows maybe you'll actually get through your back log.
Great episode. I think we all have a few games like this, buy them and then not remember to play them. I played Gun with my younger cousin all the time when I was younger. It was really a great designed game. The world felt so open and vast, but still there was so much to do in each town and along the way. We were pretty young to be playing the game. I remember being able to purchase escorts and the story got pretty racist at times. I think we had to mute the sound during cutscenes! The horses controlled as well and needed and it was enjoyable controlling them. The races were great.
Yea more backlog videos would be awesome. My backlog just keeps growing, but I figure if I can at least get around to playing a good amount of a game then I'm happy. The ones I never even tried yet or the ones that are still sealed breaks my heart. I think it's an interesting topic
I feel this so hard, I actually just got all my games out of storage, nothing compared to you guys collections but I'm going to play through all of my damn games,
I've seen used copies of GUN for all three consoles of the time countless times and had never really heard about what kind of game it is before this video. It does sound like something I would have loved back in the day. If I ever see it again, I will definitely pick it up.
I thought this was going to be commentating on your litural backlog of videos for some reason. Glad it ended up being a fresh episode of just games that were stuck in your backlog of catchups.
Great episode and great topic too, guys. I (and I imagine many others)have a pretty big back catalog.( Some dating back to my PS2, Digital Devil Saga 2 to be exact.)Would love to see a part two. Also, thank you Dave for enjoying Legend for what it is. I thought I was the only person who really liked that game.
I know you guys probably receive a million episode suggestions, but here's one more: I loved the Renovation games episode, It brought up so many great memories for me. I would love it if you did an episode on Compile. In my book they could do no wrong back in the day. They never made a bad game, and these days they do not get the recognition they deserve. The Guardian Legend is one of my all-time favorite NES games. All of their games are excellent.
Great episode! I was really impressed with the parallax scrolling in Shapeshifter, especially considering the Turbo only has one background layer natively. TJ&EIII is kinda fun but also very annoying later in the game when it's swarming with enemies and each and everyone has a voice sample. I have yet to beat it with my friend.
Definately my favorite thing to watch. Been following this channel for a long time now. This was a great idea and episode. Toe Jam 3 actually looks pretty solid. I am not into collecting in games at all. Which was huge during the n64 period. So I did not really get into those games. I was more on playstation. Toe Jam and earl looks like something id like to check out though, because I loved the original and owned it back then. The style was very unique.
Part 2 absolutely! I liked, I am commenting now, and I have been subscribed for years! I know it was a joke at the end, but I got a good laugh out of that and the reaction that Joe had when Dave said it. Keep up the excellent work guys! :) Big fan from Massachusetts, USA.
Owned Castle in the Darkness since it came out. Played it for 5 minutes and loved it, but I just don't have time to play more. Soundtrack is freaking amazing.
Carrier was really fun to play as well as Spawn In the Demon's Hand. Gun was a rental for me, on Gamecube, and it was fun for a rental. Finished it way too fast. Damn good topic and episode guys. I got a back log of about 30 games right now and I'm still chipping away.
When I saw the clip of you putting Gun in the ps2 I audibly cheered and woke up my dog. The GameCube version was one of my favorites growing up and I consider it way better than Red Dead Revolver.
I most certainly would like to see a Part 2 of this episode! Btw, when you brought up the Spawn game's lack of online multiplayer, I was expecting you to follow it up with "Not that it would work anymore, anyway."
I would like to see one of this between the themed ones, is a nice change of pace and would give the guys more time to blend the "want to play" games with the "this one is for the episode" ones.
