FIRST IMPRESSIONS | Sutliff Cringle Flake 2021 

My tins came in this morning and I'm just finishing my 1st bowl ever when your video popped up...

My thoughts exactly. I’ve been smoking this off and on the last couple weeks and I thought “bread, fermented fruits, and a little spice.” 👍🏻

In my country,,,, pipe smoking is vary rare

Smoking pipes got it first week of December so yeah it was later than usual. Sold out quickly too.

I got a vinegary/toasty note from it in the beginning, then fruity. Very Christmasy like you said, and I personally loved it. Cheers and enjoy!

Got 16 tins this year. Regret not getting more.

I got the smoking pipes email at midnight, while I was sleeping, and it was sold out by 7:30 when I got up. Happy to live vicariously through you today! Edit: Watched through the video and now I'm sad I couldn't get my hands on it! My personal favorite Christmas blend is C&D's Corn Cob Pipe: its Fruity, nutty and bright

Interesting. I have a couple of tins of the 2019 Cringle Flake jarred up, which doesn't have perique, and the red Virginia has a strong vinegar quality to it that I didn't care for. I was able to get a tin of the 2021 version, and I'm tempted to open it up and try it soon. Thanks for the review.

Great first impressions! I definitely plan on trying their 2022 version. Awesome pipe! I love the looks of a nice billiard. Might have to get one similar to this one day

18 year old Perique, wow. I didn't realize it would be aged so much, given the intense fermentation that it goes through anyway. One would think it would achieve its potential quickly.

Not a fan of the more commonly found type of fruit cake (at least as it's presented here in the U.S.) either, but it's mostly those candied "fruits" in them, and sometimes people can go overboard with the spices. Had a former girlfriend's Grandmother that felt the same way - she left out the fruit, instead loading it with pecans. Now THAT was, in my opinion, an excellent "fruit cake"! 😀
