Sorry for not uploading more content recently - been really busy but cool things happening - here's a short video of my first impressions with Godzilla - hope you enjoy! For more please subscribe!
Premium clearly the better game. Ive played hundreds of games on both. No comparison. As an operator I can understand wanting to save money and avoid extra things that might break but the advanced features of the premium greatly enhance its enjoyable play and keep players returning.
Well, I've played both and opted for the Pro. One thing I couldn't stand in the Premium was the ramps changing exit sides based upon the level the building was occupying. That was maddening! Also, I liked the look of the Pro better, especially the playing surface. It is open and inviting. I can always tell where I'm shooting and what rules are "on". I don't like the 3-D toys on the Premium and prefer the 2-D versions for a unified look. (Mecha is BIGGER than Godzilla??? C'mon!) My $.02.
On the surface this seems easily surmisable. At the end of the day the Premoum slows the game play down tremendously. After several plays it becomes frustarting to play a premium'LE model because if the interruption of flow of the game. I just bought a Pro and I think it is the better game. I have a $12k TAF and a $11.5k resto Rudy 2.0 among others The pro in this title is the better purchase if you prefer fast flow. Either game is increfible; the question is, is the Premium worth the premium? I think not. YMMV
Great video 👍. I pre-order the premium late 2021 but had 6 months waiting period so I tried out the pro and really enjoyed the nonstop ball flow. Premium has great toys sure but as a tech I made my own custom interactive mods. Both versions are great pins, for me I rather have the extra money in my pocket and still enjoy this pin. I made a RU-vid short of my mods.
Respect on your opinion, since there is no arguing that, but for me playing over 100 games of both on location, the Premium is a better game. The stop and go you point out in the video is not as pronounced between the two other than the lowering of the building. Triggering the Mechagodzilla is way more satisfying on the Premium, as it's a pretty boring loop shot on the Pro. I can see the logic of only wanting to put the Pro on location because more mechs, more toys = more repairs. In general, all the Spike 2 Pros play a little faster and harder IMO than the Premiums with few exceptions. I ranked all 22 Spike 2 pinball machines in an article I wrote recently.
If you've got the extra money I can see the premium does have some cool stuff but I don't think it fundamentally changes the gameplay which is what's important to me.
Played both. Premium so much better. Magellan and Jets so much easier to collect when the building is down. Only Stern with this many mechs. Well worth the extra money. Stern can't make the premiums fast enough.
This is what I need!! I have been so torn on Prem vs Pro and missing the mechs - especially the Mechzilla & the flying saucer rotating. Thanks a lot. David
Who are you kidding, the premium is 10X better. The building diverts differently when it’s in lock and when it’s not, mecha godzilla is so much better when it turns and exposes the Standups. The breaking bridge is super cool too. Don’t downplay it because you couldn’t afford the premium. Say, hey the pros great but I couldn’t afford the premium.
Premium is the better game, like you mentioned. This completely downplays all the advantages of the Premium and there really is no more stop and go gameplay on the premium than there is on the Pro. The amount of variety in the shots on the Premium sold it for me and it's by far the superior game.
That building diversion shifting the balls exit SUCKS BIG TIME. I couldn't despise that any more than I do now. Oh, and that comment about "not being able to afford" is WEAK. What are you, like 12 or something? You buying this with your allowance, big guy? And it's also DUMB. Who has $7k disposable but couldn't come up with $10k? Are you joking? That is a non-point, Adam Henry. Think before typing.
If I was a operator, I can definitely see why you would go with Pro, but as a player and someone who would like to add this game to my home collection, I would definitely go Premium as I like the Tower and the Bridge and the flying saucer and I do think they enhance the game experience.
What I am finding is that most people prefer the flow of the pro. The tows of the premium are nice. But they interrupt the flow. I like flow. I'd rather have a game that is fast than a game that has fancy features that delay the game. I just bought a pro today for $6900 with a shaker motor and many other upgrades.
Hi Cary, My current Pinball Collecting Strategy is 50/50 old vs new. For new, I concentrate on Zombie Yeti Art. I have GB and TMNT. assuming I can only buy ONE, would you help? Your take on Jurassic Park PRO or Godzilla PRO?
It's funny. I have put some good time on a premium and I am so sick of waiting for that stupid building to fall. Like you said its cool the first few times but after a whole all the stuff on the premium just slows the game down so much.
I agree completely. I also used to own a Doctor who and the center mechanism that rose and fell like the building in Godzilla was a real pain if it broke, I worry that that could happen in Godzilla.
@@PinballHelp Yes, the Pro seems so much easier to maintain. If you see side by side photos of under the playfields, the Premium is way more cluttered with stuff that can break.
Normally I wouldn't want to add extra stuff to a pinball machine but I think in this case replacing the Godzilla and maxilla plastics with actual molded figures would definitely be an improvement so I will probably do that as soon as I can find a good source
Pro is the better most flow friendly model, the premium is ok if you like long periods of downtime when the building and bridge fall and mechs that will break. The flow is much better with the pro.
That's a good question. I think Maiden is a different game than Godzilla. I would say I think Maiden is easier to play than Godzilla. Godzilla is a bit more linear with its ruleset than Iron Maiden, but not as linear as Jurassic Park. I think Godzilla's rules will continue to be developed. I don't feel the game is completely "finished" yet so hard to make a final comparison yet.
Yea, so insulting somebody personally simply because you disagree is a pretty immature thing to do, bro. And the difference between me and you is that I didn't say my opinion was superior. I just gave my opinion and (check this out) I also explained WHY. Like nobody is going, "What does nick-8013 think of Godzilla? I need to know?" People have different things they like and I explained why I prefer this or that, so people could make up their own minds without being so insecure as to hurl insults.
@@imnitguy I'll take sacrificing a little bit of flow for a good mech. Pinball is getting expensive, yet the manufacturers still don't put in good mechs to give us pinball moments
As a player and not owner premium is preferable for public use imo. I'm not consistent at many games but some are easier to understand than others. If I'm not going to do well, then at least I can see cool features once in awhile.
Godzilla Pro the better game?! PFFFFT! Pros are great for operators to put cheaper games on route. For me, home use pinball is WAY better enjoyed with full game features!
In many cases these "full game features" don't really have much impact on the gameplay. In some cases they make games easier or more difficult - depending upon the game. Some designers make the pro version, then add extra stuff. Some designers make the premium version, and then take stuff away. It varies.
@@PinballHelp Hmmm. I've always seen Stern designers say they start with the Premium/LE and then remove features as needed to get to the Pro's required BOM.
I've played both and I think the Premium is the more complete, satisfying experience for me. That said, for the msrp price, the Pro is a great game. I was able to get a Premium for msrp delivered fast so I went with that. At msrp, I think the Premium is at least as good a value as the Pro if not better. Premium is definitely more stop and go, but I find it a better overall immersive experience. If I couldn't have gotten a Premium at msrp delivered fast, I would have bought a Pro and been totally satisfied. Basically you can't go wrong.
