FIRST IN HISTORY!!! City of London Joins in Celebrating Ramadhan
For the first time in British history, 1.3 million Muslims in London's West End welcomed the holy month of Ramadan 1444 AH by lighting 30,000 lights along the streets.
Sadiq Aman Khan, the Muslim Mayor of London, has lit the first Ramadan lights in the Piccadilly Circus area.
This is the most vibrant moment to welcome the fasting month that has never happened in the country before. The iconic West End streets will be lit up during Ramadan 1444 H.
Coventry Street, the street connecting Leicester Square with Piccadilly Circus, was lit up with a large display reading “Happy Ramadan”. Star moon ornaments and colorful lights look striking in various busy spots. The sparkling decoration is said to symbolize the unity and solidarity of Muslims in London.
Likewise, London's West End, England has been decorated to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan for the first time in history.
This famous district of the British capital has been decorated with lanterns and lamps shaped like crescents and stars, with the words “Happy Ramadan” erected on Coventry Street between Piccadilly and Leicester Square, to usher in the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
