Incredible to see a real manager with pedigree infront of the camera talking about this special club. Here's hoping we stay up because if we do the summer window is going to be one of the most exciting ones we may ever have had at the club
I really think we've made the right choice here, aslong as we stay up and he gets that first transfer window under his belt I think he can lead us on to good things.
A man who sounds as though he really wants to impress. I wish him all the best and if the players show the same commitment then it pushes them in the right direction. At this stage finishing outside of the relegation zone would be an achievement
Welcome Darren to port vale I look forward to seeing such a high profile manager at our club and wish you all the best in your role and know you will give us the best chance of getting where we want to be up the vale.
Wednesdayite here, Darren Moore is a brilliant man, he will unite the fan base if it needs uniting. He got some great results for us but this may sound strange, I wasn't sad to see him go. I like a manger who has a go at the opposition, in his time with us, Darren was very conservative, often playing a very defensive system. In his first season we had the biggest budget in League 1, and arguably the best squad, but we lost in the play off semi against Sunderland, the first leg ended 1-0 to the Mackems at their place, but we didn't have a go at them at Hillsborough, we just sat back, we went in front mid way through the second half and sat back again, Sunderland equalised in injury time to take the tie, we had beaten Sunderland 3-0 earlier in the season. Second season, despite again having a budget that was only bettered by Ipswich, we got a massive lead at the top of the table, being 5 points clear, with 2 games in hand over Ipswich and Plymouth, but we went on an awful run which started with a hammering by Barnsley, Darren simply didn't know how to turn the bad results round, we got hammered 4-0 away at Peterborough in the play off 1st leg, only when Darren had to give it a real go in the second leg did we see what we were capable of. Admittedly, Darren won the play off final with the last kick of the game against a 10 man Barnsley who outplayed us for the 3rd time that season. In conclusion, Darren achieved his target of promotion, but his football was dire to watch. I'll be interested to see what his tactics are like at Vale, hopefully he will start playing on the front foot and have a go at teams. I live in Doncaster amongst a lot of Donny fans, when he left Donny to join Wednesday, the Donny supporters were not sorrow to see him go, I thought they were just being a bit jealous because he had left them to join us, after a few months with us I started to understand why the Donny fans were happy he left.
This is a coup for the Vale. Hope he saves you from relegation and gets you up to the Championship. From a Stoke fan who would love to see us both in the Premier League. Good luck x
Always rated this bloke, never ever thought or even expected to see him managing the vale. I hope flitcroft stays out of his way and lets Moore get on with it. I feel flitcroft will learn a lot from him.
Great appointment, shows the intent of the owners, well done Dave Flitcroft 👍 hope people get off his back now, he’s been made a scapegoat by people jumping on the bandwagon who just want to vent. Get behind the club and those running it, that’s what it means to support your club. UTV✊
Huddersfield fans view on this guy - very nice guy, defensively his teams are ok but his attacking style is very stop start and boring due to a lack of freedom. He’s media trained so his interviews give away very little and are quite repetitively boring
A lovely gentle bloke, never criticise or moans about anything, always keeps his dignity and respects other managers and other clubs. However, as a manager, very dull and unadventurous. He is over defensive, over cautious and his methods are predictable and often very boring. Lacks boldness and charisma to spark his teams. His spell at Huddersfield a disaster.
Get prepared for dreary Darren's football...3 wins in 23 games for us...the caretaker has just got 2 wins in the 3 matches since he's gone!...shocking manager and communicator
If the Fans could play each week, Vale wouldn't be in the position it's currently in. If you get a good Manager but the players aren't good enough, thats down to recruitment, not the Boss. Of course, a good Manager can bring out qualities that weren't shown before but if most players dont give a ☆☆☆t, the Manager is screwed, just like our previous 2 Managers.
You're not going to get any of that from a Darren Moore side , He couldn't manage a brothel..He didn't even connect himself to our fan so to meet and greet you guys you'll be lucky Feel so sorry for you having to put up with his tosh and negative football , I wish you all the very best from an Huddersfield fan
