Wow what an impressive range! It's the little thought out engineering that excite me, external socket, easy hookup point, aerial in and the folding towel rail - oh and the roof mounted solar panel....makes life all that little bit easier. Thumbs up Bailey!
A nice sized...sh'wah??!!! ;@) Tip-top review Mr T! Totally agree that a window is missing from the kitchen of the 2-berth - I think that would really have opened up the rear of the van. Also I noticed the gas locker right at the back of that one... hmm... However, I think Bailey has another winner on its hands, nice one!
Good job man very informative .... looks like Bailey has came a long way from around 2006 or so when we bought a new van (Elddis). ..Very tempting and thank you!
Thanks for your review and I really like the Baileys - I have a Seville and it is truly wonderful. However, the new range has completely ruined the Seville. By putting the kitchen at the end it creates 2 awful problems - 1) the kitchen staff (me) are always in the way for anyone entering or leaving the van - 2) the kitchen staff (me) are not part of the social gathering since I always have my back to the others in the van sitting at the front and sipping the wine - definitely a upstairs downstairs environment. I had a motorhome with this layout and it was very unsociable.
I tend to agree. I too have a Seville with the end bathroom. When Dan entered the new Seville I was disappointed to see the end kitchen layout. Personal taste thing I guess but I wouldn't buy this layout.
I have a non topic question you promised to put up your chilli con carne recipe up and I haven't seen it yet the missus is after it for our next trip as It did look nice ...Thanks for all the great videos they are great to watch and informative too .😊
The Trudgians thanks Dan the missus is going mad to make it. And has been waiting for the recipe with anticipation for a while ..we are going on our first touring trip in a few weeks with our new caravan can't wait because it's just going to be us 2 ( doesnt happen very often !! ) and our 2 German shepherds ☺ The missus said she will forgive you when the video is up 😂 and she loves the videos you and your family do 😊 .
Right, this should tide you over... 1 pack of mince, 400g 2 Onions 1 tin tomatoes 1 tin red kidney beans 1 tin baked beans 1 stock cube 1 clove garlic 1 dollop marmite (optional) 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika 1 teaspoon hot chilli powder 1 teaspoon cumin seeds Brown the mince, add the onions, sweat off until clear, add the garlic, then add the wet ingredients bring to the boil, add the spices and half a can of water, turn down the heat and simmer for a couple of hours. stir occasionally. We add a little bit more chilli, & Paprika as we like it quite hot. We serve with Rice - We have 1 cup of Long grain easy cook rice, 2 cups of water in the microwave for 25 mins - If its a bit wet, put it back in for a couple of minutes. (What ever the quantity of rice, add double the amount of water etc) This is all from the top of my head, but this is the basis of our chilli. For the slow cook version, we simply throw all the ingredients in the slow cooker and instead of using mince, we buy a small roasting joint, and leave all day. 30 mins before dishing up, take the meat out and shred with 2 forks - add back in and start the rice... I hope that helps you guys.. Dan
The Trudgians this is the missus 😊 thank you as ive seen you with your pot on many of the videos and we have both said how nice it looks especially when.you arrive . It will definitely be getting made before our trip just need to find a pot like yours next so it wont spill. Thanks again im looking forward to your next video and any advice as we have took your advice.on a few things most recent is that we have swapped the plastic plates for real .. 😃 much better 🙋 From vicki Oh and your forgiven😁
Hi we are considering bailey Segovia could you possibly gave your opinion on build quality and durability on bailey Vs Elddis while you were searching for your new caravan did you come to any issues apart from from regular Colorado schemes and TV mounts 😁
A great video Dan that last one you showed would do me and Wendy nicely . We hope this model of caravan will come to New Zealand at some time . We do have Bailey model's here but they are the old model's. My son and daughter n law are looking at Bailey..
We recently bought 2017 Bailey unicorn Valencia and the overall finish of the van was poor with leaking pipes hole in window blinds loose fitting windows radio poorly installed sticking cupboard locks and the heating system that didn't work. Having changed from a coachman do you think the baileys finish has improved?
No wardrobes? Caravans always used to have one hanging wardrobe - maybe today's fashions don't require it? We always used to take a dress or skirt each for dressing up in the evening on long trips.
A lot more informative than er.. Caravan channels offering. I have to admit I really like the new Vigo. This may tempt me away from the Lunar quasar 574. Thanks Dan
Hi Marilyn, The NEC in October will have all the leading manufacturers & dealers that you can walk around and discuss your requirements. You can also win a pair of tickets by entering this competition we are running. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_7LeFrI8M20.html Dan
Nice review, Dan! The Unicorns have some really useful features, and the two birth layout is excellent. Style is subjective of course, but I always think Bailey struggle with style when compared with a... Coachman lets say. (Not that I'm biased!)
Jim why do Bailey insist on putting the fridge vents on many of its models into the awning which gets very hot in the summer? The 240 plug in is also on the awning side why?
Another great video (love the intro graphics) ..... however not liking the new baileys ...... one piece aluminium back looks old fashioned .... in my view they are not a patch on swifts design..... a few nice features like the usbs in the lights, but overall they are starting to look like some of the older Dutch vans ...... just a personal view of course ..... keep up the good work Mr T
Hi Dan, hope you and family are well, my question I'm afraid has nothing to do with this video, I have looked everywhere for a video on how to change the awning bulb on my 2005 Colchester caravan, I am terrified to force the casing in case i break it completely, there is no screws or anything, please help lol, regards desperate annoyed female
Myra Little it does take a bit of force. Assuming it is the rounded rectangle looking ones, squeeze it in at the top and bottom and it will pop off. Feels like your forcing it and it'll break but mine never has. But I will say they can get a bit brittle over time as plastic left outside for many years can, but hope you will be ok, mine is 2 years older and has been.
We have the Unicorn 2 Valencia and would have updated to the 4 HOWEVER: with the introduction of the "tall" fridge/freezer appliance (since 3) valuable separate worktop space is lost. The set of draws with worktop over and microwave above (on the right as you enter) is really useful arrangement, we only require the under worktop fridge/freezer installation, for that reason alone we will not be buying another. Also the sink drainer layout in the Unicorn 2 is much more practical as the drainer is deployed all the time and not using valuable work space. Don't like the "unnecessary" deletion (since 3) of the two front side lockers either. I try to like Bailey but like so many of the manufacturers we are seeing more glam in preference to substance.
Great looking vans, really like the small touches, little tip though try to turn the camera a little slower, felt a little dizzy at times when you was turning, would also suggest trying to film further away as felt in your face at times but understand you was by yourself so would have been a little difficult, loving the videos though keep up the good work 👍
Any more videos coming up of other 2018 caravans? I'm looking to purchase our first caravan and really enjoy the videos, do think the caravan manufacturers should embrace more of RU-vid to appeal more to the younger generation, if they don't there missing out on a potential good market that costs them essentially nothing
In the Cadiz model the wardrobes should be positioned over the feet end of each single bed .......like in the Adria (uses that empty space) the wash room then becomes larger..
Great video. The caravans however not so much. Nice designs but look as if they will fall apart and leak in no time. I will never understand why the showers are not one piece molded construction. Fully sealed with seams is not sealed at all and water damage starts with the first use.
The Trudgians thank you nice of you to reply keep doing what your doing. You filming has been invaluable not to mention entertaining .please keep going
When I look at these new vans I see nothing to say is a new idea as such as it's like they have taken what is standard on my hymer swing 530kz from hiding the sink and cooker completely to the right Upton the bulkhead seating they are nice I cannot agree more on that good video as always ty on another note when will any caravan developer make a desent size freezer not these tiny jobs as a family of 5 stirring good cold frozen foods is a godsend but a couple of boxes and these tiny freezers are useless we take a freezer with us
Some really nice features and ideas shown on this film, but why are manufacturers happy to plonk those cheap looking, early 80's taillights on the back? I'm buying my first van this Autumn and as it's going to be a 10 year thing, it's got to be spot on. Manufacturers, take note!
I have a Bailey Unicorn and was thinking buying a new one in 2018, so I have been to my local dealer to view the new range. The Bailey Unicorn Range 2018 is awful. The front cupboards make to interior feel cramped. The old 2017 range is far better. It has shelves that are handy for laptops and maps etc. that do not fit in the silly little cupboards. The tv point has moved from the useful front table area to where the coats should be hung The nice shelf on the front of the van that is each side of the draws has gone. The settee has many individual back sections that make an uncomfortable sleeping surface. The wine thing is a waste of space and totally impractical to use. The shower and the impractical sink is a joke. Where do you put the soap and it is difficult to clean the bowl when water runs down the back. That black grab rail on the back looks awful as does the black hitch. The sockets in the kitchen area are vertical rather than horizontal, where will the wires hang? The Vigo bed is not practical, you need two types of special sheets to fit the design - no thanks. Bailey, you need to sack your design team, they have messed up a great product!!!!!Read more Show less
Close but no cigar, no descent plays for a tv & sat box , on this subject, why only 1 sat point on the outside, Sky+ needs 2 sockets . On the plus side , it's good to see they have got rid of the stupid round sink. Speaking of sinks the shower room sink is all show and not practical.. imagine this .. wash your hands and face and your putting the soap down, drips all over the surface & water will run down the outside of the bowl , that's a given.
