Thank you so much for this detailed and exciting update! 🙌 I’m thrilled to see the future of Craft unfolding with Objects Beta. The potential to enhance workflows and structure thoughts in new and powerful ways sounds incredible. 🚀 I’m really looking forward to participating in the beta and exploring all the new features. Your team’s hard work and dedication are truly appreciated! 👏✨
Great step forward. No more reason, then, to consider switching to Capacities or AnyType. I suggest that when you group objects e.g. by status, you could also show the grouping in columns like a Kanban view. For projects and todos that would be a gamechanger.
oh my! I didn't see this coming...Craft is only getting more and more enticing for those in the market. This may make Craft closer to being a contender in the task-management market. Anxious to work with it and see!
I've been a Tana user for ~2 years now, but increasingly frustrated at their UX. Meanwhile, when I tried Craft the UX was excellent, but the deep functionality just wasn't there. I wonder if Craft will be able to match Tana on functionality before Tana is able to match Craft on UX. Interesting stuff.
Wow...! This was unexpected and amazing! It's wonderful to see a beautiful app like Craft add power-user features like this! I'm sure you will attract a lot of new users🙂 Good work!
Wow! That's a great evolution to Craft and I"'m already thinking how I'm going to change my Craft usage to better take advantage of this! Very excited!
It would be great to have more options when it comes to the visual layout of Object-groups. I'm used to this type of functionality in Airtable and Coda and being able to add conditional formatting (such as coloring and bold text) really makes a big difference for us users who like not just a functional but beautifully formatted user interface
This is a pretty interesting update. I can understand why you all have resisted the calls to add things like tags now. I can start to see how tags could be implemented as a species of objects and, I would think, accommodate most of the functionality that people would want from tags.
Oh wow, finally, it's here. Craft is my favorite tool for PKM and an essential part of my daily life, but I still had to manage my tasks and projects elsewhere. So this is the last piece I needed - to combine my knowledge base with things that need to be done. Viktor, that's wonderful; thank you! I can't wait to see that in the next update.👍🤩
This is cool! You should consider (for the Mac at least) to include the ability to “tab” to the next field when adding a task, or assign a shortcut to the object field when typing the task in. For example, if I have assigned the “#” to the project link field, I would just have to type in the “#” symbol to have it bring up the list of tasks. Or if I assign the “!” Symbol to the priority field, It would bring up the priority list as soon as I type in the “!” Symbol. May make it more functional that way. Great job!
Amazing! But as a windows user, now that the most wanted feature of me is the tab-like top sidebar in ios and mac. Hope that windows could have it soon!
Super excited for this update! I have to be honest, I have been flirting with others, this redeems my commitment to Craft. This will make working within Craft so much more than a document repo.
This is really promising. I only wish the custom fields could be displayed kinda like a table at the beginning of the document instead of always looking like tags. That'd be way better for knowledge bases and wikis (I use Craft as my D&D campaign manager).
If we just can have TAGS feature enabled on block level, and a better search capability through queries… Craft would be my only goto notes and productivity app. One more ask, the integration with readwise!😢
EXACTLY, we don't need to make craft more complex than it is by adding objects. What we need are tags, the most fundamental feature of any PKM and notes app and a Readwise integration.
I love Craft so much, I've been using this since late 2022! I use this for filmmaking projects and scripts. I love using your app for note taking. I have so many folders and documents!!😊
Users who have used Craft have never deleted the app, I am sure and craft has no comparison in the user experience, it is really incredible and if in addition to this begins to have functions that allow the user more power of organization and management, it is a total victory for craft in terms of competition in this type of application is concerned. Good Luck
Thank you Viktor and the rest of the team. I'm wondering...is there a way aggregate all tasks that are already in daily notes into this feature, without having to go into each daily note?
Yup, looks like a light db for project planning and sorting. With smart filters I can see this becoming a powerful addition getting rid of yet another app alongside Craft 😉... also nice to see you in action Viktor!
I I'm very excited about the potential of using objects. Although I have not got to play with it yet, I believe I've gotten your first feature request the ability to filter on a Element category based on another object. An example of this and use would be creating a task and associating it with a project and always seeing projects that are not completed
A very interesting addition to Craft. I'm already thinking about how my workflow will change to take advantage of this new and exciting feature. Question: You used the mouse for most of the selections and inputs. I'm hoping we can easily navigate these fields with keyboard as well.
Cool stuff! My first Object will be "Medical Drug", so I can gather metrics like dosage, indication, side effects etc. I´m very excited to hear the news about objects!
Hi Victor, looks great!! I would love to have a Admin option to enable it for specific users.. so users who don't need it don't get the clutter! And (power) users can use your new stuff!
I was just looking through web and youtube for instructions on adding drop down menus and I've came across to this! Hahaha love this update already! Good job team! Any ETA on ver. 3? 😁
You will be able to create relations between Objects - I would recommend to give it a try and apply to the Invitation Beta - craftdocs.typeform.com/to/sZRDclzG so you can try it out yourself!
Hi is this the option from Craft to Notion Databases?. I think objects can help us to organize better the pages and provide an additional plus to consolidate the day to day work
I'm going to guess here but from what I saw. Folders are just spaces where you store all your documents. Objects are more like databases that can relate to other objects. And I think you will be able to put together different objects inside a folder.
