I’m a Kubota guy myself, but honestly when it all comes down to it, it’s all about dealer support and quality after the sale. I’m very fortunate and have very reputable Kubota, New Holland Bad Boy and Deere dealers all within 20min of my house.
YES, it is such a great asset to have Dealer support so close. I am lucky in that way also. Plus I have Large construction repair shops close by. With great universal PARTS inventory
I just wanted to chime in on Branson tractors. I've had a Branson 4520r since 2016. Gear drive, 12 forward/reverse. Great tractor. It is heavy, lift capacity is decent, over 2k, and it is super reliable. 1700 hrs and no signs of slowing down. Pulls a heavy 72 bush hog all day in the summer heat, has pulled hundreds of cords of logs and graded many gravel driveways. And hundreds of other uses. Bransons of this size have one of, if not the tightest turning radius of any tractor. Add the cutting brakes and it will impress you. I have mine setup as wide as possible, with the largest r4 tires I can fit and it out turns smaller tractors. A major plus. As is the low mount fuel tank, over 3k lbs of 3 point lift capacity, the list of pros over the competition go on and on..
Great comparison video! The left hydro pedal on the Branson would be a super easy mod to bring them closer together...a little more work to bring them lower but still doable. Interesting that the rep stated that Kukje is the parent company of TYM. She said "Let's go Branson" but we really know what she meant!!
I bought the Branson 2515h a little over a year ago and it has been nothing short of incredible. With fluid in the tires I can lift just about anything I want, and with the 3 range transmission there is absolutely zero bogging when in the right gear. Highly recommend to anyone looking in this class of tractor.
Good to see Branson being represented. I’ve had my 3515H for just under a year in my company. It’s plowed snow all over town, done plenty of gravel driveways, mulch deliveries, property cleanups and lifted some ridiculously heavy loads without a single hiccup. As an aside, I prefer the wider pedal spacing. When maneuvering in tight quarters, I don’t find myself hitting the wrong pedal by accident and can do forward/reverse smoothly and effortlessly. I’ve also learned to be completely comfortable with the forward mounted loader control.
I have a Kukje engine in a 47 horsepower TYM. I'm extremely pleased with the performance and the simplicity of the engine. They use a Bosch fuel injection pump (no common rail) and it doesn't require complex electronics to operate.
My 2006 Kubota L3130 is a big frame tractor for its horsepower. The rear tires are 16.9 x 24. It has the LA 723 loader. We regularly lift, stack, and move round bales with it. I made a counter weight for the 3 point hitch out of a 55 gallon drum full of concrete. Works well.
Tim I'm not sure about the newr 2515h model, but the previous model in that size and HP had the exact same engine as their 35hp version. Several videos on YT where ppl removed the governor plate and adjusted them up. Really impressive way to sneak in there, you know.
Mitch, having a hard time with the search for any information about the gov plate adjustment on a 2515. Can you please spoon feed me a link or a google search term? I may want to do this when I am out of warranty. t
Love my 2515h. It's a beast, lifts HEAVY. I live on a steep hill with sand and at times when climbing the hill with a full dump load, 4x4 in sand, the 25hp has to work a little harder than I'd like.......VERY HAPPY with it, great tractor.
Awesome! Glad you did finally look at Branson! I have a Branson 7845 - love it - it’s a beast of a machine! It’s a 2018 model, but the engine design was unchanged from prior to 2008 or 2011 ( I don’t recall the cutoff specifically ) so there is no DEF, no DPF - no EGR - no emission clogging pollution controls! It was a great find! Just wish I could use it more! Thanks for the video!
I am getting a 3515 Branson with a Cab delivered this week. It was half the cost of the Orange or Green options I priced out and took just a month to get vs 6+ that I was quoted for the others. I’ve got a 1 acre residential property and an another 4 acres of recreational land to care for here in Alaska so it will be interesting to see how it stacks up moving snow this spring.
I have the same tractor I got last summer and have about 50 hours on it and absolutely love it. Came with 3rd function and 2 rear remotes. I put a land pride grapple on the front and I am amazed at the amount of stuff I can pick up with the loader. I also put a front end snowblower running off the mid-pto on it and it works great! Snowblower is made by bercomac and was very simple to install. Just have to bolt on 2 mounting plates to pre-existing holes on the tractor then everything else is quick release pin on. Zero problems and starts up perfect even on the coldest days of the winter so far! Also used the factory remotes for hydraulic top and tilt cylinders. The heat and A/C on the cab is great as well! Only thing I wish they made was a belly mower to keep my large field mowed a little nicer. Obviously can do rear mower but would be nice to be able to have it underneath but not too many tractor this size even have mid-pto let alone a mower deck for it.
@@D70340 I really wanted a 3R Deere with a cab but here in Alaska it is north of $70k optioned out to match my Branson and they were over 6 months out for delivery.
This has been said before, but service, parts availability, and dealer support should be at the top of the list when considering any purchase like this. My own experience with a Branson 3515R that my father owned was terrible. Hard start/no start conditions constantly recurring, front axle leak that never was resolved, a steering valve that occasionally wouldn't steer without dang near a full rotation, and a bucket curl leakdown situation that was deemed "normal" by the technician sent to inspect it. A full load of manure would need to be curled again every several seconds while tranporting it to prevent it from dumping some out. All this on a 1 year old tractor with 60 hours on it. Dealer support was non-existent, the shortest amount of time the tractor was down while waiting for repair was a month, sitting at the "dealer". As I was taking care of my father in his later years, it was a constant source of a PITA to add that to my growing list of responsibilities. Once my father passed on, that tractor was sold at a steep discount just to get it to sell. Even in a relatively hot market at the time, it seemed nobody in the area wanted to deal with that brand of tractor, probably due to the poor dealer reputation. The lesson is, make sure you take into account all the variables involved in purchasing any piece of equipment, because a tractor that's cheap up front may not be cheaper in the long term (or even the near term!). I wish I had been aware of my father's impending tractor purchase plans, I would have steered him towards a used Deere instead of a new off-brand machine for similar prices.
Branson did have some growth/ teething issues at one time. I bought a 3725 12 speed open cab 3 years ago. Not one problem. I much prefer the larger stronger frame on the Bransons compared to every other brand at the same hp. Your dealer should have replaced the loader hydraulic spool valve. Branson would have covered the repair, you just had a really crappy dealer. Car dealers are the same, a good dealer fixes stuff, a crappy dealer says it's normal until the warranty is over, then they want to charge you.
The word on the street is that those Kukje engines are modeled after old Cummins engines, and are the most simple engines to work on you can get in any compact tractor. Specifically, the emissions controls/engine controls are stone age simple and can be dealt with at home unlike other brands.
Interesting to see the features and info on other brands. Competition breeds improvements and innovations. Thanks for checking them out and sharing. Blessings.
@@TallTexasGMan The Cabelas tractor was made by TYM, Northern Tools is Chinese. TYM also builds several tractors for Mahindra as well as all of the Rural King tractors.
As these tractor manufacturers put the sub-25 hp engines in the larger bodies, I wonder if any consider moving back to a gasoline engine in these tractors to allow for higher HP, but still eliminating the need for all the diesel regulations? We always had good luck with the Continental 40 hp engine in our Cockshutt 540 tractor, and even the good old gas engine in our Ford 8N.
They're sub-compact, so yes they're light weight, the tractors in this video are NOT sub-compact, they're compact utility tractors....quite a size and weight difference and no comparison to a sub-compact tractor that's meant to be light weight to keep from destroying your lawn.
@@ERICMB24MF37U24F39 Well but then a dedicated mower is far better at it, weighs less, and are generally less expensive. I really don't see why people buy them for mowing.
@@court2379 I bought my 2025R with 60" deck because I wanted a tractor and don't have room for 2 machines. With the mowing I do I'd get maybe 20 hours a year on the tractor.
I’ll be getting one, gotta pay off my bad boy rogue 72” zero turn I bought back in the spring that I absolutely love, the neighbors told me it would never cut the 10 acres of field around my house, it went thru it like butter; now I’ve got a 10 acre yard.
Picked up a Branson last year packaged with 4ft box blade, Tiller, Cutter, Post hole digger, Forks with skid steer attachment for bucket out the door for $19,000.00. Now i have owned John Deere's - Mahindra's in the past. I opted to go with Branson because you can't beet the packaged deal i got from my East Dallas Dealership. I traveled from the Houston area to pick this up. Is the Branson hands down better than my two previous tractors, No. Worth the cost, Yes! The Branson 2400 is slightly bigger than the 1023E i had. Definitely stronger then the Deere both in lifting and HP. I am pleased with Branson Tractors. Now if they would only send me my hats they promised.
It almost sounded like you were making fun of Kubota for having a treadle pedal, but I know you just meant that Kubota is the one manufacturer that actually got it right. The Bad Boy looks pretty good for what it is, at least it's the right color!
Greetings Tim! As always great video and information. FYI - I owned a Branson 2400h before I purchased the 1023E I'm currently using and didn't have any major issues with the tractor. Kukje builds a fairly decent machine...albeit minus some of the bells and whistles Deere and Kubota have on their equipment. My complaint with Branson was the dealer network and individual dealer policies regarding working on tractors that were not purchased at their dealership. We lived in Central FL at the time I purchased the 2400h from a dealership near Rome GA., knowing we were soon retiring to Knoxville TN. My issue came to light when the tractor had an intermittent problem with the starter circuit and the various "safety" interlock switches preventing it from starting. The closest dealer to us (Spring City TN.) would not work on it because I did not buy it from them. I called Branson and was told that's permissible within their dealer network. That's all it took to convince me to "upgrade" and go green. However, Branson, Bad Boy, TYM and any other brands that Kukje builds for are decent, entry-level machines for the budget minded tractor buyer.
Haha I love it tim when you said 2200 is at the pins not the bucket you should of gave him the link to all the tests You have done on you tube. He didn't argue with that great honest review done by you thanks for sharing
Tim, the last few videos when you talked about the loader lift capacity /specs of different bran, I noticed the representative's body language change to a stiff look and avoided the topic like a cat on a hot tin roof lol. Great seeing the videos of the other brands!
we considered buying a branson tractor, the dealer was 15 miles away, 1 year after chooseing a more popular brand with more dealers, we see the branson dealer is gone , there are no branson dealers within 100 miles of us now.
Tim, it could be that the 960 rpm on the BadBoy is for a front linkage (usually 1000 rpm). Front pto is usually driven by the crankshaft but sometimes also by the midpto...
Branson 2515h at $24,900 MSRP! Wow, I bought my 2515h mid-2021 and MSRP was $17,999. Definitely, Let's Go Branson. The tractor is a little tank. Zero issues (70 hrs), almost lifts too much. My last tractor was a Kubota L2501 which was also a good tractor but could be hard to keep running cool in Florida heat. Always had to keep an eye on the 'Bota temp gauge and be meticulous with the radiator screen. The Branson doesn't care about heat or a clean radiator screen near as much.
Nice job guys .. I like the shuttle shift . My legs done like that type of movement . I need some kind of arm rest with a joy stick to work the the bucket .
Love the different looks at alternative brands. That big 25 horse Branson is really appealing. If my needs were a little different and had a dealer, I might’ve considered one. You can definitely see the difference in fit and finish between these and the traditional greens and oranges.
The way that the forward peddle for the Branson Tractor you could purchase one then cut it down to the width that works for you. Then if you sell the tractor you supply the original one so the they could go back.
Tim, thank you for the great videos and the wealth of information you provide. During the review of the 5520 (Branson), there seemed to be a bit of a snobby tone. Granted, the 2515 is likely the best tractor currently available, with its outstanding performance. One crucial aspect to highlight is its impressive 68.5 lb-ft of torque. Particularly when using the lower gear, even though work might be slower, it proves to be an exceptionally capable beast.
Nice seeing the new branson tractors. I used to have a 2013 Branson 3510H had quiet a few issues with it and decided to trade it in for a Lovol M504 black edition.
Talking about the hydrostatic pedals, I prefer gear drive. To me it just seems more robust and more control. But I only buy manual transmission vehicles too so I’m probably just weird🤣
So funny when Billy came up & tells about the Branson 2515 : 25 hp & 2300 lb loader lift capacity while above his head it says 24 hp & 2200 lb lift capacity ... Ah , sales people always have to prop up the numbers a bit !
I wonder who’s going to be the first manufacturer to increase displacement, decrease rpm and put out big torque while maintaining 25 hp to give you a non-emission management tractor that can punch well above the rules.
@@maxball6388 that’s got similar specs and displacement to the Deere 3025e, it’s a nudge in that direction but it’s not a big leap like going 6.6L duramax to 13L cat engines where torque goes from 700 to 2600, but hp is in the same range.
@@valleytractorservices9310 so that’s why tractor trailers have cat engines instead of a duramax? Yes a duramax can move the 100,000 lb load, up to about 15 mph, to hit 70 you need the big torque that’s not geared down. Big torque will keep a big mower running. The simple fact is big torque can do big work without big hp. Big hp cannot do big work without torque. An example of that is an f1 car. Hundred’s of hp, but very easy to stall when you let off the clutch. “If you just want to go fast and hit 140 mph, then horsepower would be more effective for you. However, if you want a strong car that can pull boulders and take off quickly, a high torque might be more important to you. In short, torque makes your vehicle quick. Horsepower makes it quick”
The Branson 2515 has the Cummins designed A1700 in it. It's a 1.7L. they are "turned down" to 25hp. They are the same motor as the 30-35hp models. With a simple turn up, guys are bringing them to 30ish HP quite nicely. They are the hidden gem. Most the other 24hp tractors are smaller displacements turned UP.
I like your videos Tim I grew up with John Deere I know Larry tractors have their ups and downs but I got to stick with my John Deere cuz that's what I grew up with thanks and keep up the good videos
Thanks guys! I'm on a shoestring budget still looking Is the warranty the same with a backhoe and what is the base price (s) I want to stay away from Regen if possible!
Ken is right on the Branson 5520CH the twinpedals are to far apart, but maybe it is possible to loose those bolts and bring them closer together? Just my 2cents^^ (one)
Is the motor in that last tractor a de tuned 35-40hp motor or a small 1025r sized motor? Basically what I am asking is after warranty can I bring it to the diesel shop and with the turn of a screw, turn it up to an appropriate HP?
The smart large frame, 25 HP tractor makers would be putting bigger engines in them detuned so as delivered they were 25 HP factory but if the customer say in another country..... Wanted to turn the injector pump up so they did a reliable 40 HP, then that would be easy to get the full potential of the machine. :0) Maybe Tims Friends can start producing Turbo kits for these tractors that could well use the extra power?
I've been following your channel for years and I really enjoy the fair way in which you evaluate the various tractors you feature. I would like to offer one slight correction, you stated that cab tractors have to have the joystick on the fender. That's not completely accurate. I have a cab model Yanmar YT359C and the joystick is on the side console, not the fender. Keep up the good work Tim and may God bless you and your family.
@@TractorTimewithTim You were correct, I misunderstood what you were saying. My apologies for that. Keep up the great work you do. I truly enjoy your videos and watching as you evaluate options for current and future tractor owners. Best Regards.
I'm partial to greene but if I could only afford the red then that's what I would get..many cheaper tractors will do the same thing as my john deere ...my main concern is getting parts and a mechanic to work on it.
I really like the videos of comparing tractors and equipment maybe you could do a rk tractor someday if there is a rural king handy in your area I would like your take on the rk25 I’m really looking into getting one for myself
I got a rk 25. Really enjoy it. Just know going into it that you will most likely be more knowledgeable about tractors then the person "selling" you the tractor at rural king.
I have a “rebranded” tractor. I have an old Farmtrac. It is an LG tractor which was branded as a Farmtrac, Montana, and I believe LS. It hasn’t been a bad tractor.
@@TractorTimewithTim It can be a challenge at times. The dealer I purchased it from has a supply and the internet helps. Also Wix makes filters that fit it.
I could live with it. Parts availability and service is what counts. I'd like to see more 🇺🇸 made subcompact tractors. I'd like to see some videos done on like Toro Dingo type skidloaders. You can put a rototiller on them and shreaders among other things. They'll get into tighter places than a subcompact. I suppose they'll be slower. But it would be a fair trade off. Thanks and take care
@Brian Uhing We would all love to see more American made tractors but the truth is there aren't any, none, zero, zip !!! And don't use John Deere as an American made tractor because they're not!!!!!!
@@pmaint1 corporate America sold this country out. I waited 3 months for a ECM for my pickup. I also had GM call me for a month wanting me to trade. I'd say more but I think he gets a picture.
I guess Ken needs to get out more 😃. New Holland had a compact with a 2 range hydro on their TC35D/3040 and larger models that also had a shift on the fly electronic hi/lo for each range. Basically a 4 range hydro.
You know these Govt regulations are a good reason, for the companies to work on developing new gearing ratios and technologies. Think of how the big steam engines and old tractors of yesteryear could do massive work and didn't have hydrostatic transmissions or even hydraulics at all. I've thought for a while how great it would be for tractors to have big flywheels again, more gears, and feed into weight for ground engaging force. Even multi-stage hydraulic pumps. We have woodsplitters that run on a 5HP Briggs and have more force than most of the tractors on the market.
