Another top exclusive video for the community. Thanks for doing the tear down. The flat orientation of the controller might be interesting for some DIY builders. The Hero itself also looks pretty good. Would have been interesting to see some weights of the naked Hero vs the batteries.
It’s more beautiful than I thought. Easily, the most appealing EUC Begode has in it’s inventory. If the battery and motor matched the design it would have been a must have. The only complete Begode(Gotway) ever made was the Nikola. Is there any information on a updated Nikola? Thanks
Great job Kevin! I'm glat to see these companies taking your insights seriously in order to produce the quality we deserve for our money. I really hope Begode makes the nessessary adjustments to secure better waterproofing in there designs before I put money down on the Master. I just don't understand the goofy mentallity of installing a rubber gasket aroun one one bundle of circutes, but not the other. WTF??? lol Kind of like the first two generations of the v11. The berrings kept rusting in the hollow motors because someone in there design department obviously didn't think it woud be smart to pack them with marine grease and use a rubber gasket. I don't get it! These are not genious mistakes. These are the mistakes of people smoking very potent weed on the job. lol Keep up the awsome work! Vidios like this keeps these guys accountable. P.S. You should be on their payroll for educating their design teams in "Obvious Dumbass Mistakes 101" haha
Begode spent some engineering time on that one! It's only the V1 of many iterations to come of the same design probably. Hopefully they'll manage to get the weight down and battery capacity up on the next one. Respect for the effort. I chose the S20 tho, which seems like it could have all that but better. The Hero doesn't really seem to be worth the tradeoffs. Thanks for the video Kevin!
Thank you for great content we will see in near future how be hero vs s20 in real situation comparable. honestly i am disapointed by S20 abrams and comander actualy but i was sceptical with sherman too and after i buy V2 sherman i am happy owner.
Awesome work Kevin! I'm really looking forward to hearing your ride impressions. I know the c-38 version is a little more geared to trail riding, but I really hope you consider taking it on the street too. Your impressions of what the ride is like on rough roads 25 to 35 mph (40-56 km/h) would be great. Knowing if fairly sizable bumps or potholes at higher speeds could be handled pretty well by this wheel would be a really good thing to know. Also if you have the time or interest, it would be a real bonus to hear if you think the proprietary suspension can be swapped. Maybe the existing suspension is okay, but I bet people who buy this wheel would be interested to know if it can be upgraded. (even if relocating the charge ports and/or dremeling some space in the seating area might be necessary...maybe not?) Anyway apparently there were a few people who upgraded their s18 suspensions with good results. I think EUC suspensions that are included with the wheel are kind of like the included headphones with a new phone or music player. Usually the headphones are okay, but you can often get a much better experience if you are willing to put a little time and money into making a good upgrade. Either the DNM BURNER-RCP2S or a similar suspension is supposed to go in the s20. I think Begode may have said that their proprietary suspension is not designed to be upgradeable, but if it could somehow be upgraded to an S20-like suspension, that could be a major improvement.
Would something along the lines of a DNM BURNER-RCP2S fit? That's supposedly the shock that's going in the s20, or something pretty similar. If you actually can get a decent suspension to go in there and get good results, please don't keep it to yourself. And if they turn out to be necessary/helpful, please consider signing me up as a customer for any fabricated spacers you make, if you don't mind making a few extra. 😁
@@Cr125stin I know I would happily relocate the charging ports or even dremel the seating area if that meant I could put a really good suspension in there. Fingers crossed!
Great tear down, looks like the speaker may also be a water intake? Not sure about the battery protection being where they are and do you know if the wheel is easy to remove? Is it just those 4 screws ? Cheers
Well done review. It really is a shame that current gen wheels use so much plastic. Considering the price I'd expect more aluminum, esp. on those protective parts i.e. around batteries. I wonder how the hollow motor will work out in the long run and if bearing issues will appear. It is basically a hippopotamus in terms of water resilience, if begode can be trusted.
All i know are those few teasers where they basically shower their wheel and have a super "phun" time in aqua town.. After seeing this breakdown it just boggles me how this could be safe vs water ingress. Maybe a 2nd gen of the hero might be worth paying the sum begide already asks for. Too many 'what if's' remain for me.
Wow…..just wow! While on some ways GW has gone the extra meter todo someting nice and safe, there are still some things that left me Head scratching! One example would be the missing waterproof on the 12/5Volt board that Kevin found. But mostly its the Suspension design! while first it looks like a S18 copy, here in this video ypu can see that the small pedal hangers are just directly connected to the moving rod inside the flat middle part? Thats …..hmh….for me at least head scratching. Negatives i see: Proprietary shock without rebound and all. Positives: Looks like the batteries all follow the new design of a short protected BMS just using 3 wires for charhing and Powering, which would be great……its just hard to judge as Kevin unfortunately has left that part out.

@@steveo6034 Not to me.. S20 looks like its gonna be a Great Wheel.. cheap plastic is easily addressed... other things are what matters... like the smart bms... good suspension, and the Best Design.
Looks reasonable re overall shape, however the type of cheap plastcs used and clip in design of upper section I can see breaking in the first 2 weeks , no leather or even imitation leather for seat section is poor. No I’ll pass, maybe S20.
Cheap looking plastic.. Everything with holes for water to get in on top: speaker, charger.. One fall and everything broken, next crap from gotway in line.. I wonder if they have fixed the battery problem on this one at least. Aka no protection and so on.
