not deliberately, the price will be announced with the Kickstarter, i don't think the price on their website will necessarily be the same as Kickstarter. But I'll add the price to the description and pinned comment when it's live :)
If it was not a kickstarter or indigogo I would consider $250. But looking at their website I’m guessing they will be asking $350/$400 - which is too much for a device that even if produced, odds are there will be delays.
Other choice could be switchbot universal remote that use IR and bluetooth for remote. A hub with bluetooth and IR receiver. Next gen SB Remote should mix 1) unfolded circle remote 3 and 2) ZM-RM01 4) aquara M2. IR Database are old and too limited ( 3 devices for BLE remote.).i have LG TV magic remote so SB remote unusable ( wait update). No Audio video receiver icon ...so no remote devices (wiim ultra) in DB. Hub is mandatory to record IR with SB hardware remote , SB hub 2 ll do less than aquara M3 hub that is also thread border router. All SB devices use BT beetween hub and devices ( no zigbee no zwave see).
Very nice explanation of this remote. Maybe I missed it, but how do you select INDIVIDUAL CHANNELS while watching TV?? For instance, my Harmony has a key pad on it, so I can go from channel 702 to 722 by pushing the numbers. How does this one do that? Thanks for a great video and your time.
No ir receiver ? How remotz can learn new remite ? No support for bluetooth remote for box tv like firestick apple tv, LG tv. Nice easy integration with sonos, denon, philips hue. I think android should work by itself . Support for rm mini broadlink ll be nice ...
chromecast is connect using hdmi.... by configure cec on your TV, the iv remote shoud control gui of chromecast .New chromecast have now a remote like firestick but i think firestick use bluetooth. Switchbot remote use bluetooth pairing mode but i don"t know if other protocol is use ( ir wifi...)?
I haven't been able to try the Remote 3 yet, but i have been using the R2 everyday for a while. and i had to send the RS90 back (as it was a sample). Hopefully i can try the R3 soon, the R2's software, although not completed yet, was a lot further ahead than the RS90 at the time of testing, so the R2 worked with everything pretty much and was really good at it. the R2/R3 has the edge with home assistant support (fully working) and not needing an account or to go through a cloud. the RS90 had a long way to go with software, and you needed to create an account in an app to use it. The R2/R3 doesn't need any app. The last 2 (HA & no app) are really important to me and my setup, RS90 might change and deliver those things, but i have been really happy using my R2.
@@BuzStringer Thank you. i appreciate your insight on tis/ its a little nerve wrecking to order something on kickstarter with no guarantee that you will receive an item. but its a gamble i might just take
@@rue2241 I actually decided to back the R3 yesterday. First Kickstarter I've backed for the same reason but A - their goal was 200,000 euros, it's over 1.5 million euros at this point B - While they had issues with stuff not being ready at launch of the R2, the R3 runs the same software so everything working on the R2 will work on the R3 (plus some extras). It runs a stripped down custom Linux OS on ARM, similar to this which is a stripped down highly customized version of Android. They have already started production. Everything but the hardware is open source, open sour e free API for developers and third party integrations, including user integrations in the future. I'm glad there is another remote maker out there following the same path, especially with Home Assistant but the R3 has an internal webpage for configuration with drag and drop support or you can configure directly on the remote. This using an Android app just seems like it would be "more fun" to set up or make changes.
