This is a first look at a pre-release prototype of the One Netbook T1 Windows tablet with a 12th-gen Intel Core processor. The final hardware may be a little different: One Netbook says build quality and performance should be improved in the retail hardware.

I like the industrial design with the ability to actually open the back panel. The keyboard cover looks a bit... cheap, but maybe looks are deceiving. The lack of palm rejection is a big miss. Nice compliment of ports if nothing else.

Not bad, currently looking to get a 128GB, 11th gen i5, Surface Pro 7+. This checks my boxes I'm looking for, SD slot and a upgradable SSD, full sized nvme too. Shame there's no i3 version.

So you won't be able to play games on it then since the keyboard gets locked up while writing it you touch the palm and key board at the same time, major draw back on this and they raised the price I looked

With the i7 model is it better for gaming what fps do you get in games, is battery life about 1 - 2 hours max on battery?

@@Liliputing Thanks. Wow, is it that bad? On all other machines as well? I mean the single core result is as expected, but the multicore for this cpu should be around 10k, but in your test it didn't even reach 5k. Are these results for the first test or after 30minutes of constant testing?

First result. I did reboot and run it again several times because I was surprised was well. The first score was the highest.

@@Liliputing Wow, so this is really bad. What is interesting all the rest devices with 11th gen are also very bad, way below their marks on notebookcheck or cpu monkey. I fully expect some performance limitations in this form factor, but 50%??? You're right, they might as well have gone with i3s in these machines - we'd get similar performance but with longer battery life :/

@@kaczorefx I'd be curious to see what setting a manual, more aggressive fan curve and undervolting the CPU could do. Maybe even sticking one of those dorky exterior fans onto the chassis to help conduct some more heat away. Thing is, especially with the 12th generation chips, there's just so many cores generating heat that really specialized cooling systems need to be designed. From what I saw on this, there's only one measly ultrabook-style heatpipe carrying away heat to a slim, possibly 40mm fan. It's gotta be really thermally-constrained, and manufacturers are simply NOT optimizing tablet builds (they prioritize silent fan speeds and underclocked CPU that can do short productivity bursts). The only one that's even tried is Asus with the ROG Z13 Flow. I was able to get between 15-20% performance gain on a Lenovo X1 tablet with an 8th generation Intel CPU by playing with those two factors. i7 chips are pretty beasty and I could hit a stable undervolt reliably at -110 mV. You can also just raise BDPROCHOT by 5 degrees to let the tablet's CPU hit the thermal barrier around 95 C instead of 90. Squeezes a few more drops out of it, too.

totally overpriced, i5 is much slower than iPad Air. All window laptops are overprice by about $300 at least, Suface is $500 over priced. Why bother with this. Just get a Mac Air (even though I don't like it at all). Average user should do much better with iPad Air or even iPad Mini 6.

They don't make a Mac that can convert to a tablet, and they never well. Not a valid alternative.
