What a great sounding unit. If I get this to replace my old BR1 that ran a 2x2 mimo either omni or directional (i swapped them when needed) could I hook both the 2x2 omni and 2x2 directional at the same time and get the best of both worlds? Thanks again, you just gained a sub :)
Combining a directional and omnidirectional in that way is definitely not recommended. We have other videos on the channel and guides on our website cover antenna selection.
It seems that the primecare sub is $99/yr. The Balance 20x was only $49/yr. So 5 year outlay for this device is about $1000 plus tax vs about $650 for the B20x. Seeing as the B-one 5G replaced the B20x, they effectively raised the price by 50% while also removing features (GPS, expandable modules etc). Sure, the 5G modem might be faster (depends on a lot of factors) but functionally, if you need a router for a wired primary and a cellular backup connection (of whatever speed), this is more expensive.
It is more expensive and does lack some of the features of the B20x, but has things the B20x doesn't. Plus going from a Cat-4/7 LTE modem to an X62 5G modem is a massive upgrade in cellular capability - few people will want to run a first-generation LTE modem five years from now. And the B20X was always hobbled by a 150Mbps cellular bus limitation, a slower internals generally, slower Wi-Fi, a single dedicated WAN port, etc. There's certainly nothing wrong with the B20X and it remains one of our Top Picks, but it's really difficult to recommend the B20x today when the B One 5G is so much more future-proof. Plus, not everyone needs an ongoing Primecare subscription.
Does it need an Speedfusion cloud subscription to properly work? I.e. the bonding, load balancing, etc are only available if you purchase a speedfusion monthly service? how much is that subscription? Thanks.
SpeedFusion is included with their PrimeCare subscription, or data can be purchased Ala carte. 1-Year PrimeCare is included with Peplink Routers, and then renewed annually if desired. More here for our members: www.rvmobileinternet.com/peplink-primecare
Besides lacking temperature protection, do you have any additional concerns with using this in a campervan/class b? Will excess road vibration have an impact on the internals? (in other words, besides the heat sink, does the BR1 Pro 5g have any other internal vibration protection/shock mounting etc, that this one omits?) I am looking to replace my T-Mobile Home Internet setup in my Class B, with the change to Away plan coming.
I have visible. Can I add a line and place the sim card in this PEP device to receive unlimited data through it? If so, I'd like to connect the PEP to a cellular directional antenna to make our home internet speed useable for multiple people to stream in the house at the same time. Right now our cable internet is too slow at around 5 to 10 mbps depending on the time of day.
@@MobileInternetResourceCenter I would be interested in a product that is just a high quality 5g cellular modem with antenna jacks on one side and an Ethernet jack on the other side. No built-in router. Do you know of any good solutions for a stand alone modem?
We classify those as adapters - and there are several on the market. Such as Invisigig and Insty Connect’s new POE option. Check our Gear Center for details on options.
