I am not a fan of the headband design. It appears to be the same cheap junk used on Sony WH's that breaks frequently.

not a replacement. MDR 7506 is $99 USD, the MDR M1 is $250 USD

Dude they are a repackaged MDR-V6 (Japan model only), which have been the standard pair of Studio Monitor Headphones since the 80s... of course they will be good! In fact these will probably be slightly better than the V6s (V6s that were made in Japan). Just compare the specs of this upcoming MDR-M1 to the MDR-V6 and you'll see what I mean. This is top notch stuff, Sony does not mess around when it comes to making their flagship Studio Monitor headphones.
