Not gonna lie, this type of format for Shorts is a great idea! Would love to see more of these (if you guys have the time) with quick first impressions of new products.
@@MrGamelover23 vertical videos are a good thing, yeah like tiktok. but what im saying is youtube shorts should be used in a useful manner like this one, short and concise. Let the memes, funny, and cringe videos remain on tiktok.
I can't believe it's been two years The device is still going strong, people had doubts at the beggining and didn't knew if this format would catch on but the reality is the present, it was a hit and probably the biggest revolution on pc gaming of the last few years. If only Valve released it worldwide...
You could reserve one on the steamdeck website (or the steam store) if you want. There is a wait time, but it will tell you your estimated ship date before you reserve it.
But it’s not a perfect line. I laughed at that because of how wrong it is. The battery life on it is terrible, and that’s weird to hear considering this is new tech and the Switch is 6 years old. How does new tech lose to old tech? The OS is unstable and you have to tinker with it so much just to get a game to run, if it runs at all. All that for twice the price. Wow.
@@alexmendez3681ou must not own one 1-2 hours of AAA gaming isn’t terrible. if you play games comparable to switch titles you get better battery. some games give me 6 hours it’s not twice the price it’s not even $100 more and the os isn’t perfectly stable but it’s great for what it is.
@@alexmendez3681LOOOL touch fuggin grass brah! steamdeck handles WAY more beautiful games than switch does. and the OLED has equal or greater than battery life. A better graphics card, runs three times the capabilities. Has access to like 1000 times more games including switch games! and you can get them on sale at steam store instead of getting hosed by nintendo. lmfao... I play helldivers 2, elden ring, buldurs gates 3, FFVII remake and more on deck. you poor nintendo weebs cyyyying so hard! b-b-but tHe BaTtErY. Lmfao. it runs right out the box and insta installs your steam games fast. pathalogical liar u r. the cope is weak with this one boys
I have a steam deck and can get any steam game running. I can stream my Xbox to it. I can use my epic games account on it. Yet to emulate older games (but it’s def possible) I customised my startup/boot video to look like a PS5. Steam deck is amazing. I have played it on the train for a few weeks. It’s great. I have hooked up multiple controller and with a USB C adapter plugged it into a 65” TV to play some couch coop games. TLDR, if you think you would use one, then get one. Simple.
Recommend you enable dev mode, in there enable cef, then install crankshaft flatpak. There's a great plugin which allows you to increase saturation which makes games look miles better
One thing I've noticed on all the reviews so far but that no one seems to talk about is the latency on the touchscreen. It really shows on sliding bars in particular.
Currently hanging in there lol. Getting one for college, seems perfect for that use case. The portability, performance, form-factor, support, and possibilities. Although I would need the dock to do any actual computing by having an external display and hooking up a mouse and keyboard.
If you're looking for games to try, I'd love to see how well Sekiro functions! I def would anticipate having to lower settings or settle for a sub 60 framerate, but having that game on the go would be lovely.
It would be cool to see some FPS games being played to see how the trackpad fares. Also some of the latest racing games. Looking forward to your full review.
I would love to see some Stronghold HD because it's not officially supported but got a Platinum rating at ProtonDB and I would really appreciate seeing a reviewer showing what that process looks like.
My buddy described this as more like computer in the palm of your hands. Rather than a jacked up switch. He can do homework and get on the internet with it. Plug mouse and keyboard into it. Thats next level.
I suggest a game. If you feel like paying. It's $20. It's fine if you don't wanna buy it, I just wanna see how it would be played on the deck. It's called 'The Isle', a dinosaur survival horror game
You should play the Batman Arkham Games and Star Wars The Force Unleashed 1 and 2. No one is playing or testing these games in their reviews. It would make your test footage more unique and it will stand out from the other reviews that just play the same games over and over again.
Quick question, how does raytracing perform? you can enable it in games that support raytracing by setting the launch options of a game that supports raytracing to: RADV_PERFTEST=rt VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 %command% and then enabling the option in the game's menu (it may not work for all games yet). I've yet to see anyone cover the raytracing support (probably because it's still in development software wise) but it would be nice to see what progress they're making on that front.
Yes, it basically bridges the gap between consoles and PCs because it is some sort of PC-handheld-console. E. g. you can use it as a Linux system to install a Nintendo Switch emulator or PS3 emulator or use it for webbrosing, basically as desktop Linux with controller imputs, options to use a keyboard and mouse. You can also just use it to play PC games on the go via Steam.
Games to try on Steam Deck: 1. Hades (top down perspective action game, great on controller) 2. Into the Breach (chess-like strategy game) 3. Persona 4 (slow paced RPG/visual novel, sold like hotcakes on the PS Vita) 4. Ori and the Blind Forest ( beautiful side-scroller, needs tight controls) These are the kind of games I would want to play on Steam Deck, so it'd be cool to see what you make of it.
Dota2 , they recently made a change which makes the game playable by joysticks which is amazing bc you need 10+ buttons in keyboard and mouse to play the game!
Don't forget those track pads can be programmed to be buttons you can have the full abxy buttons programmed into the top left right and bottom of the trackpad when you push it down at the same time it could be a trackpad for your mouse you ain't getting that customization in any other electronic gaming device on the market
Tf2, I play tf2 on my surface tablet and you can use the touch screen. Suffice it to say but it makes sniper the easiest class. Wonder if that also works with the steam deck.
@MKBHD Dude, I'm not sure if you did it intentionally, but the thumbnail makes it look like the shirt graphics are actually popping out of the Steam Deck 🤯
