Game is genuinely fun, physics feel more touched up from last time, track definitely chnages how the car handles. No it's not a sim. If you want a sim it's not for you. For most people this is a great game
Literally said i want a couch game, but keep on making up things, even said if you dont own the last game to buy this one, just disappointed nothing was done, copy paste.
I find it interesting that people complain that this game is a copy paste, but literally no one has an issue with games like NASCAR Thunder 03 and 04, which are typically regarded as the GOATS. They are literally the same game with small changes (the UI, Grudges & Alliances, Speedzone, etc). Sport games have always been this way, which makes big jumps & changes like in D2D and Chase for the Cup so special. I’m not saying they couldn’t and shouldn’t have done more, but the most important things for me (physics and AI) are noticeably improved. Plus, the new challenge mode is a good way to acclimate to the new feel. This is not a Heat 4 to Heat 5 situation. There are enough differences IMO to warrant a purchase, even if you played the last one.
@@jimmymyers to an extent, yes, but any good it did made the game even easier than 03 once you got your car upgraded enough. I agree - I would love upgrades in WoO to be more realistic / deep, but at least it’s still hard.
I remember on the old world of outlaws game, having a big crash at the start of the career mode ruin the whole season..showing up to the next race with still a damaged car 🤣
I like IRacing and I’ll buy this to support them in making future grassroots racing games but I wish another company would make a high limits game and give them some competition. People would buy that just for Larson, Sweet, and Rico and it’ll force iracing to improve
The biggest negatives for me outside of it being majorly the same game were the little things. Wrecking at the beginning of the night has no effect on how the night plays out, almost nonexistent damage model still, no new paint, no real changes to sponsors. I just feel like the potential they left on the table is a killer. I loved the first game and I do enjoy this too I just wanted more out of it this time around ya know
Thanks for providing more of a critical view. I think there's a balance to be had between sim and accessible (see: GT7) and it looks like they missed again. I guess I'm still waiting until they put actual effort into the series, although that seems unlikely at this point.
I have noticed the ai making more driving errors. I was running second in a super race and the guy leading was faster but he kept hitting the burn and breaking loose. Was able to catch and pass.
And its fine if the base game is like that, but man let us adjust it, ha. Ratbag on PC was so fun to edit realistic payouts, schedules, rosters. You could make it the game you wanted.
Thats what I was afraid of. And even though the first game was good, that was essentially copied from the SRX game. Not sure if I'll be picking this up yet or not
Yeah i never played the tony stewart stuff because the graphics looked like the meme "we have sprint car at home" so i couldnt tell you if it feels the same as those.
@@Daytona_Dad SRX dirt physics weren't nearly as good. World of Outlaws greatly improved on that, but otherwise yeah, it's absolutely just the SRX game with some improvements. I mean we even had better, higher quality cockpit details in the Heat games. I think they need to bring it over to the Unreal engine. Unity is no doubt holding this game back, but not everything can be blamed on that. Some of the issues should be blamed on iRacing's decision makers.
Every real world Micro racer can only dream of getting paid nearly 2.5k for coming 12th in the B Main. The game does certainly have the potential to be great for the console audience, but certainly needs some refinement and certainly better customization. Its not iRacing, and its not trying to be iRacing, its trying to be a fun, casual sit down slinging some dirt and its doing a decent job of it, but there's some room for improvement. But certainly if someone hasn't picked up the previous game its worthwhile to grab.
@@kneebon5 I agree. There are little things they could do to help the game in a big way. The “at track” visuals. Why are we in a barn? Put us behind a trailer, and as you progress, you go from an open trailer to an enclosed, and ending in a stacker. Small things that I feel can make it just that much more realistic.
The issue for me is the physics, cars just feel janky and like they are trying to 'look' a certain way while driving them that is too contrived and arcadey and not natural. That's been and will remain the main issue for me with these games, likely the same with the iracing console title too for nascar
Thanks for saving me $60. Man that’s disappointing to see how little was put into the game. I wonder if iRacing is only doing these console games to protect rights for iRacing.
Thats not even what im wanting, i already have iracing, i just want a good couch racer, but i already have that with 22. Feels more like a scrub Brad Sweet from the menus DLC.
Yeah i am hopeful, its been so long since i had a good nascar game to play. Thunder 03 i played the hell out of while i was stuck in the sand. Give me that with 2025 graphics
They did bare minimum, no doubt about that. I said it when it was first announced, this could be a $20 DLC. They give us basically nothing and then slap us in the face by offering a "Gold" version which includes two of the only four new tracks. Why no improvements to the Street Stock model? Why not add Legends cars, since they already had them made for the Tony Stewart game. Graphically, it's no different aside from some color changes. Cockpit view details are still garbage. I'm frustrated. It's a genuinely fun game, but I'm frustrated.
Really enjoyed the first release of this game, which I bought after seeing the playthroughs on this channel. Seems like the limited amount of new content and limited customizations might be negatives for this release. On the flip side, I'm interested to see what the career mode restructuring, dynamic track state changes between sessions and wing adjustments add to the experience. Could be swings and roundabouts for this one, we like to say.
@@joshmills7368 dang, that sucks! I realize it's a console game so accessibility is vital, but it also needs enough variability to maintain the interest and challenge over the long run. Not to mention that finding the line on a changing track is the crux of dirt racing.
@@martin-hall-northern-soul it’s the exact same as the old game except for the track appearance.. the center of the track will look dry slick but it’s not slick at all 😭
If who you are selling to want a sim, you give them that, otherwise this 'fun arcade game' ends up in the bargain bin sooner rather than later. Look at Road to Knoxville or more of the recent nascar games. Crap like this doesn't sell and make producers gun shy about making future releases.
@HillaryClintonWinning that's because it was highly anticipated. If the quality isn't there and physics and gameplay are very cartoonish, word will get around and sales for this game will be worse. Right now, there doesn't seem to be that much of a reason for me to go purchase this game.
Man i hope you spent less than 2 seconds on that "gotcha" comment. 1. It is iRacing not i-racing. 2. iRacing is the publisher not the developer. 3. iRacing devs helped tweak the physics for 22, but Monster who is owned by iRacing was the developer, with assets shared with Monster from iRacing. 4. What does this have to do with the point of the video that its the same game from 22. Guess you got me though... good effort... about as much as they put into 24 from 22.
Exact same game, disappointing. Should have just been dlc for the first one with the couple of new tracks and cars. But they probably wouldn't have sold as many as a "brand new" game. I hope it's the case that they have all their development resources tied up in the new nascar game and just didn't have the time to do anything for this and just wanted the cash. Otherwise I'd be worried
Yeah, micro feels different than every other car though. But jumping back and forth from the new game to the old game on the other cars, felt nothing different.
That’s what I wanted to kno good to kno nothing has changed but the 23 to a 24 I feel like the game drove like shit tbh so I will drive the last game when I get to feeling like dirt racing
Just bought '23 for my switch for 10 bucks at Walmart. For as little as I will play it (probably just flights), it's great. Definitely would not spend extra for 2 tracks, and probably a worse driver roster.
Yeah, i just hope there is enough people out there that are okay with full price dlc so we have another chance if them making upgrades to the game for 26
@@kneebon5 Agreed! I cannot say that I feel surprise at the state of this release but damn, it is exactly what I was worried about. I cannot see how this will not damage the long-term relationship between the consumers and the product.
Huge dirt racing guy. No way I'm buying this. Terrible damage model. Dirt is predictable every night on every track. Lame career mode. Should have a calendar where you chose where to go each night. Should have local tracks running weekly events with changing dirt. 410 sprint car roster is freaking terrible. Where are the midwest guys? Why are we running 15 second laps in a 360 at Knoxville? Just too bad that we can't improve games anymore.
Yeah I really thought with how the first game started out, that the second game would build on that, so thats why you can hear me just slowly dying inside as I realize that even though iRacing is behind it, it was just the same game.
As I'm watching your video, I'm 11 minutes in and I'm really getting annoyed now. I just want to say I haven't watched the career mode stuff yet. I paused it up to this point. It looks like a copy and paste game and that's frustrating cuz that's really looking forward to the next one
Fans of sports games will understand that there hasnt been a new game since like 2010 for console. NHL, Madden, NBA, all these games have just copy paste for a decade or more. I honestly dont know anyone that plays console games anymore...
@kneebon5 compared to dirt on iracing.. it's trash.. the only people who don't realize how trash it is are the console players that are force fed trash. Iracing could have done something great with the game. They could have given console players the iracing experience. Instead they financed another title from monster who's dirt physics are in fact trash. I don't even understand not releasing on pc. It's not competition to the iracing service. It's arcade trash. The physics between the two are worlds apart. I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. You've done both. Your not doing any favors for console players when you say it's anything other than trash. It's simply another monster games dirt game with iracing brand on the cover. People should be worried about that nascar 25... I'm skeptical until they prove me wrong.
@ChasinTracks no it's unrealistic by the devs/ publishers choice. Assetto Corsa.... seemed to make sim physics work on console. No console player has ever said I hope the next game as even more watered down physics and is super easy to control. They want a real dirt racing game .... nobody asked for what they got.
