nah, jimmy doesnt have the seat time, those guys have been in countless comps, plus he is in a car he isnt used to yet. anything can happen and i would love jimmy to somehow pull it off, but he is definitely an underdog
@@seanharrison6162 what you think people are going to drift worse on purpose so jimmy can win? its all for fun sure but the drivers there are elite, denofa, taylor ray, LZ, Fink, Nate Hamilton... these guys couldnt drive bad if they wanted to, have loads of comp experience, not to mention they all already have set up cars not a brand new build they are getting used to.. jimmy has hardly any seat time in this car, they are still shaking it down and he is still getting used to RHD. from their website " Competition will be laid-back and fun, but judging will be taken seriously with prizes worth over $30,000." i love jimmy more than any of them and hope somehow he wins but realistically its a very slim chance

@@seanharrison6162 being competitive literally means having a shot at winning or to be on the same level as your competition,he isn’t yet, those guys have been doing it way longer. It’s great experience for him and I hope it goes smoothly and he does welll but of course everyone is going to be driving 100% it’s a massive event, public and sponsors watching, not to mention they are all competitive people otherwise they wouldn’t be competing and the engines as prizes are just the cherry on top. Just because we want jimmy to win it won’t make it so. But I would love to be proven wrong as jimmy is my favorite of the RU-vidrs and I love e36s

jimmy, if this is going to be your big boy drift car, you have to throw a winters quick change in it. the upfront cost now will be worth it in the long run.
Nah bro, see adams most recent video. The Supra’s Winters diff split in half on the traction difference from a puddle of water. E36 diffs ain’t hard to change anyway
10:30 BMW does not make power steering pumps. Theres ZF pumps and theres LUK pumps. They look similar but the brackets are slightly different and the hoses are slightly different too. You can swap them back and forth easierly, but you need the accessories, which cost not much i guess you need to know that first. The ZF is the "better" pump. It's more durable to abuse, but thats only if we are talking 30 year old pumps. if you get a new one today, LUK or ZF its going to last the life of the E36 if you take properly care of it and run the right ATF and dont have leaks and let it run dry. Just putting info out if anyone needs it
Hey Jimmy awesome tip for doing suspension work when you're doing your final tightening of all the bolts it's good to have weight on the suspension and it doesn't find when you put the weight down on the car if you have it all hanging when you tighten the fasteners it puts bind on the suspension when you lower the vehicle I'm sure you know this it's just good to practice it

I think you should try to have the same grip on the shifter every time you're changing gears. Now you're changing the grip every time you're touching the shifter.
I've been waiting and wanting to see a purpose built unlimited rules tube chassis drift car and unlimited drift series for so long. Every other style of motorsports haves tube chassis purposely built for its environment yet drifting (even at its highest) level is forced to use a stock car then modify it. Do away with middle man that is restricting and let's see the next level!!!
i think most people, me included love the fact that drifting still has "real" cars. tube chassi would be cool as a one off but i would much rather watch production cars drift
@@charlieward7606 If you look at what is left from the “real car” it’s basically a bit of the front/rear subframes, part of the trans tunnel and the centre of the body, with the cage, front and rear bash bars, quick change and removable carbon panels, there’s not much that isn’t custom built.
That blue circle car thing Arron has i thought about something like that being the way forward as a drift car its saves busting up a good car few more panels tho
Jimmy please put a 315 diff or 294 im NA s52 and hated it on 391 it was way too short and had to use 3rd a lot, you have the power to back up the longer diff ratio you be much happier and the car too
Idk how you hated that. 3.91 in my m50 literally brought the car back to life. Being able to swap back and forth between 2nd-3rd will also help save your trans too. I’ve blown up two transmissions with a 3.15.
@@bradgraham8272 you absolutely right it is about the wheel speed but at 500+ hp and 3.91 diff 2nd gear is only 47mph you ain’t goin no where at this point he’s on rev limiter all the time and he doesn’t want to change gears all the time where 3.15 diff with zf trans would put him to 60mph on 2nd or 2.94 diff would be 65mph which it would be perfect for this track. All other guys are probly around 60-70mph wheel speed on this track
@@Chattsteezy you need to figure out your setup first and Match that and yes 3.91 diff with m50 and getrag trans is pretty good setup since you only workin with 150 hp. I’ve had 3.91 diff with m52 zf trans and it was pretty good, once I swapped s52 in i was on rev limiter all the time (50hp more and it was whole new animal) and I was goin no where cuz it was just blowing the tires off just like him on the video (and yes I was playing with my grip tire pressure tires and springs) with s52 and 2.94 diff I don’t have to clutch kit car is planted it’s fast and i finally get tire smoke. Every setup has its own sweet spot and it depends on the track too.
The 325/328 diff's (US M3) are actually pretty sturdy. My buddy has run the original 325i diff to the cars vin in his 600hp M60B40 swapped E36. Only broken 2 used OEM axels in about 20 events over the past 5 years too. I can't believe it's holding together. With a supercharger and all that torque you clutch kick far less than most of these lazy turbo motors, and it just eats.
@@weedshoes5089 We dont even cool them, just stock back plates and send it. It's usually the guys with the small diffs and axels that have the most problems
I love the e36 you need a quick change rear end for it you look like you will be way more competitive in it than you were in the s13 coupe you should really dial this can in and stay H pattern because if you do go to different countries they're not going to have manual dct's or whatever but this is a weapon and when the motor goes then you just go 2jz and it's gonna be unstoppable!!! Love the channel and buy a ton of merch
@@weedshoes5089 i run 4.45 on mine so it will spin third ahaha only 200hp tho xD dont really get how he cant use third as well with that much power and that short of gearing
@Charlie Ward I had a 3.91 in my 325i after I swapped the transmission before I swapped the diff. It was useless. Wrong rpm everywhere, not enough wheel speed range in the power band. 3.38 is the highest you want with a 5 speed in an e36
