These two scenes: 'docking from Interstellar' and 'landing from the First Man' are one of the best scenes ever created in history of movie making. Emotions and expressions match to the core on both. Background music so perfect that one can watch with the interchanged/experimented and it fits right in. Its just Spine Chilling...

I just finished “first man” I think Damien did a great job and the soundtrack was brilliant and beautiful but for some reason I started to imagine Hans zimmer music from interstellar for that particular scene so googled it and I saw this video and your other video of Interstellar and I loved and enjoyed both of them so thank u for this .

i played this when perseverance was landing on mars (when it already did 7 minutes ago relative to us), and I gotta say this music sure makes it intense when their isn't much time to react in the moment, without making it so obvious.

Dude. His name was Neil. N E I L. He's arguably one of the most famous and well known humans who ever existed. How, HOW did you manage to go and disrespect the first human to walk on the moon by not even bothering to get his fucking name right? Seriously? How unfathomably stupid can you possibly be? You can't even get the 4 letter name of the most famous human after fucking JESUS right. Unbelievable. There's no hope for humanity anymore.

The sync is absolutely amazing, and I think it makes you realise the debt the visuals owe to Nolan. But it also made me wish that Nolan trusted his visuals the way Chazelle does, rather than relying on Zimmer to tell us how we should be feeling.
@KNadoli

I dunno, think the original docking scene in Interstellar absolutely showed Nolan's trust in the visuals to carry the scene. But Zimmers score just makes it otherwordly

That was sensational. The only thing I would have liked to see different was at the very end I would have played the real transmissions from the real astronauts. "Contact light. Engine stop. Uh Huston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed." Really had me on the edge of my seat though, but as even other astronauts of that era said. They didn't think Armstrong was actually going to abort, he was simply the right stuff.

Personally I really like the original soundtrack, but in this specific scene I would have preferred no music at all. It would be more realistic and maybe you would feel more of the tension in the cabin if you just hear the radio comm and their breathing.

what's with all the rocking? the landing was smooth as hell
@cleverusername9369
@cleverusername9369 4 года назад
I've seen a few people say that but I feel like without having actually experienced it, how can we be sure? The thing was moving at thousand of miles an hour and decelerating rapidly, to me it makes sense that it would rattle and jolt a lot. Unless there's something to do with the lack of air on the moon, and thereby a lack of friction? Idk I'm not Neil DeGrasse Tyson.

The craft was very thin and the engine was right beneath them. In the background of the audio you can hear the roar of the engine. I'm sure it added some vibrations as well.

Did Neil/Buzz really make the landing with the cabin lights to the LM off(just the panel lights)? Or is this just Hollywood BS?
@StormsandSaugeye
@StormsandSaugeye 5 лет назад
During the pass in which they were on the "Dark side" of the moon they had cabin lights on. During descent half the cabin lights were off. Specifically lights which would have obscured their view through the gimble lense. Further, they required a clear view of the panels in order to see the precise readouts, which required lower light levels. However, it is not believed that it was this dark during the landing phase.
