First Mods to my New eBike 

That bike is sick ... Never really Liked folding bikes until now no it's really cool especially with a new handlebars that look even better I never liked those t-bars I was like the BMX style really makes it pop great work man

Nice upgrades. Pro tip. Invest in some decent tools. Don't attempt M4 and bigger allen bolts with a foldable tool. You get no leverage. Buy a simple 3/8" rachet, doesn't have to be Snap-on level, just a basic ratchet wrench, a reducer to 1/4" and a set of socket allens. Life will be MUCH easier. As to the Bafang motor, my credo and I believe you may lean this way, it, run as much power through it as you like. When you burn it up, upgrade to 1500 -2000 watt direct or geared hub drive. Grin Industries make great motors and you can find one for your wheel size or have it laced up. Then its a matter of choice of controller. I would consider both a battery and controller change before the rear hub change. Voltage shouldn't be considered in a vacuum of course because Watts = Volts X amps. That rear hub drive motor which is likely around 1000w 'peak' can take 72 volts no problem aka your old battery. You just need the right controller to keep the amps below 25a or so. You can experiment and let the 'heat of the motor' be the determinant of whether you are over cooking it with a combination of too many Volts combined with too many amps. Ride it hard and feel the motor being careful not to burn your hand. Btw, I think you know this has been done by a few on that style of ebike. If want a roadmap, check out DavidBrandNew's youtube channel...he has videos upgrading the rear hub motor and controller on a very similar bike aka the Lectric XP. Some have also gone dual hub drives on that config. of folding bike. Ride safe and have fun.

I love the new ride, dude! I have had my custom ebike for just over a month now. Very enjoyable. I love being able to ride to places an hour away with little effort. I'm only rocking a 52v battery but it is 20ah. Enjoy!

I have a 72 volts on my ariel rider x52 Stock motor and is running great not overheating. And the controller is a savboton 45 amps, sometimes showing me aver 3900 watts.

I love how pumped you are about this foldable bike. I just bought a Wallke Aniioke A7 Pro foldable e-bike that's should be arriving on Sunday. It's very similar to your bike so I'll probably be making some of the same upgrades that you are.

on my Aventon SINCH (similar folding bike) I have a 7 (or 12?) gallon storage tote ratched strapped to the rear rack and it can carry so much stuff. Maybe not a high score in aesthetics, but those racks can usually hold 50+ pounds so its so useful to have the cargo bay. I could probably fit 2 rectangular batteries in the tote and have room left for storage

Excellent vid, exactly what I am doing to mine.

The 72 volt battery can get you extra speed but only if you have enough torque to reach the higher rpm available with the extra volts. You will need more amps if you want enough torque to reach the 40+ mph speed that 72v is capable of. So you end up with peak wattage near 3000 and your current hub motor will not survive that. To make use of 72v you will need to either get a big high wattage direct drive hub in the back or add a front hub motor to share the torque and wattage load with the current rear hub. If you settle for 60v it will go about 35mph but will need at least a 35 amp controller to achieve the speed. Your hub might survive that wattage for a bit if used carefully. Maybe for the build you should go ahead and start trying to push the limits of your stock hub and find out how much you can get away with before it blows. That would be fun to watch lol. And if you do end up running 72v you might also consider using a pair of 36v in series in case the smaller batteries have better placement options.

Hello there, Thanks for the really nice videos of the Crooked Path. Looks like we are on the same page my friend with the upgrades. I have also replaced the handlebars. I gotta laugh though buddy. Why not more info on the throttle setup? LOL its a mess isn't it? That stock throttle is a piece of work. I replaced mine at the same time and none of that crazy stock throttle. Also you should have mentioned how you got the phone holder to mount to the middle bar. I sure you just added Shims, that's what i had to do. Anyways Great videos buddy, thank you. It’s looking good buddy. Don’t Frey about the battery as you can add another one of the same size, or a measly 10amps that’ll hide on the rack like it’s not even there, but greatly enhance your higher power for much longer as well as the range either way. That handlebar looks good, but damn 29” I don’t know maybe for a thick bike it’s best, but 25 3/4” is noticeable to me, and I have another bike with 22” and still feel like a 20” might be best for a non electric bike mind you.

You need to worry more about heat when you up the amps than you do with overvolting. That motor should be fine at 72 volts. Ride on & enjoy;)

Geard hub over volted will definitely run hot ..get direct drive 2000 watt 72 volts Because direct drive with big volts will have same torque as gear drive.. Maybe 60v is better for geared hub looks great 👍

Hey were did you get the quill stem adapter ? I want to switch out my handlebars but dont know what i need to do so

@NPL Ventures - I'm very curious to ask - if you were to mod the Lunacycle Eclipse (similar body style) what would you do - it's also a Bafang hub motor which I think Luna already added more amps to - is the next step a higher voltage battery? Looks great,but that seat is too big and funky looking with the granny springs underneath imo, takes away from the athletic look..

the frame is aluminum you can NEVER do jumps with that. I did see a cro moly frame on one e bike
