Dear Nikki, an old guy from Germany watches with great joy your videos. Since the "rescue" of camper I have watched all your videos. You are such a kind Lady. Greetings to your wonderful family. All the love from Germany❤❤❤
I think a pop up canopy with sides may help with "cooking in the elements" issue. Plus you'll want to sit outside & not get soaked in a storm. Hugs to Camper & Rodney ❤
Just a FYI... for the slippery center console, I cut a piece of floor carpet large enough to hang over the side and tucked in between the seat and console.. easy to remove if I need access to it.. and my boy doesn't dig his nails if he's standing on it.. and a tent that you can back the truck into so you have a place to sit for those not so sunny days.. makes the truck camping a little more enjoyable.. a pass through window from front to back is also nice..
Tailgate lift: fold over an old seat belt piece or tow strap, remove one of the bolts of the tailgate inside face then run that bolt back through the strap making a loop handle to lift the gate x2.
The fact that you can do these things all by yourself fascinates me in every video. I wish I could pass through the screen and help you. It also helps that you are the most beautiful, sweetest woman I have ever seen. Best wishes to you. Loves from Turkey!
My wife and i just tried truck bed camping and it was awesome. FYI if your topper door doesn’t lock automatically like ours there is a cool trick to be able to lock from inside using pvc pipe on each side to keep it from being opened from outside.
You might want to look into a retractable bumper step for the truck. Makes it a lot easier to get into the bed without having to jump, particularly if you're going to have it lifted.
Yay! We've been so looking forward to the truck campers maiden adventure 😊 06:47 I live how Rodney always looks so deep in pensive philosophising when sitting and staring our the windows. Also, it's been so rewarding witnessing Camper's journey and development from being scared of the water to now loving going fishing in it 🫶 Please give some love to Camper and Rod for us. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend 💚
Omg we just got the the "All Roads" blanket part 😭 it's so beautiful and perfect! Amazing amazing amazing job, and as always thank you so much for all your do to love and support all the animals that you can. It's so special and important 💚
Great to see you grow!! Nikki, me and my daughter love your videos and the awareness you bring to camping, we been watching for 3 years now and she still bites her carrots 🥕 for her salads 🥗 lol we appreciate all you do!! Stay happy and healthy!
When I saw you were using the truck I thought it would be with Justin, but makes sense to do a demo run first. Lovely to see Camper going straight into the water. I miss my dog waking me up and also seeing him curled up for the night x
Hi Nikki 👋 you and Justin did a awesome job on the truck! With all those slides and storage compartments, your design works! Just need your black out covers for the inside and pull rope (maybe) for the back end of the truck door to close it up when you're already inside for the night. Great to see Camper got over his fear of the water. 💦 Good boy!! 🐕
I would suggest adding a handle or strap to the top edge of the tailgate so that when you want to close the tail gate from the inside of the truck. Mount it centered (or slightly off centered) on the tailgate edge, and simple loop should work.
That van is a pos those Mercedes have a ton of problems she has had to get it fixed like a dozen times sad how they can’t make good stuff considering how expensive the vans are
I think you called it right... when you said just keep a positive attitude and just deal with it. I agree with you in that I like the connecting with nature, which includes the natural sounds of the outdoors... but more than that, people have a right to enjoy their freedoms however they want to.
Rodney & Camper looking so handsome and healthy!!!❤ interesting build. My 78 Ford Econoline van conversion was designed by my mom and built by stepdad. The kingsize bed folded down from a couch with a table insert. Custom heavy duty foam cushions upolstered in a heavy grey/ white tweed design. The most comfortable bed I've slept on ever!!!❤I had a fridge powered by block of ice. Microwave, sink with water pump, coleman porta potty. I just paid $1.00 a shower at trailer/ rv parks. Back in my day they were like 7 to 12 bucks a night to hook up. I had 110 hook up running from a plug under back bumper. I had full kitchen area and a hot plate. Coffee pot, etc. I didn't have cell phone or solar power generators. I used trucker fans and I plugged them into batter jump starters! Kept me and the cat cool. Plus I had an ac that fit in passenger window at night while we camped in really hot states. I could stand cuz we had the fiberglass roof extention.... I lived and traveled in my van for 10 years!!!❤
I’m usually at home when I watch your videos, but today I was sitting in my car with my dog, in a beautiful green park right in front of the water… felt like we were hanging out. Don’t know where you are but it’s really beautiful. I may sell my house and travel, so much to see and experience out there in nature. The bros are so cute together now, love each other’s company, adorable. Love the blanket, I’ll check out your shop site.
Something else you might want to consider for your truck is to add mesh screens to the side windoes of your camper shell like what you were saying about the back of the truck. This way you can have good air flow when you sleeep at night to prevent condenesation, especially if its hot.
You did great! Love your new build out on your truck! I’d have to put on a taller camper shell so I could sit up a little bit better to get dressed. Look forward to seeing your new suspension and new tires. Love your videos. Thanks 😊
Basically, she met a boyfriend who seems to be on the other side politically. And getting heavily influenced by him. Will be interesting to see how this all plays out in a couple months
I think youll go back to the van, when you get a sore back from stooping over all the time in the truck. And then figure out you have a more private shower and toilet.....
I don't think it's intended to be a replacement for the van, just another option for short trips or rough terrain. I've been thinking about something similar myself. I love my travel trailer, but it's a pain to drag it out and get everything set up just to go spend a weekend at the lake or something.
Just ordered one! We aren’t campers but will use at the beach 😊 Idea for next merch…. Large water flask (like a Stanley) with camper and Rodney. Hoodie would be nice too….you could use printify for the hoodie
Please make sure if you have push button windows that you keep them locked so the dogs don't step on it and get chocked 😢. I have a friend that lost her dog that way. I like your new truck but I would rather have the space of the van. 😊
Just a heads up that portable battery will be a deadly brick should you ever have to make an emergency brake.. like a real one... I would suggest making sure it can't move or be launched... Lol you dogs sure love the outdoors too and riding in the car :)
I think your personality makes this channel so much better than others 👍💯 Fun to see your adventures. 🙃 You should attach like a rope to the inside of the back end of the truck to pull the bottom up to close it.
nikki nice video. they make taller caps that you might consider. you may already know of them. i am looking at how cramped you seem to be. in a couple of wks you may consider modifying the top. not trying to spend your money, just observing. i saw the prius videos and i think that was a HAVE TOO. i am hugging the dogs. have fun!!!
I would want some kind of tent on the back to be out of the rain and wind where I could leave everything out and a chair to sit in the camper shell is like being back in your car good design though 🤷♀️would love to have that blanket just can’t spend the money I wouldn’t discontinue selling them I think they should sell well
Nikki this might work what if you got a Strong rope attached to the back door and used the rope to close it from inside the truck it could take a few pieces not sure check with Justin
If you ever forget coffee filters you can always do cowboy coffee. You simply grind the grounds a little more coarse than usual and then add the grounds to hot water and bring to a boil for 2-3 minutes depending on the strength that you prefer. Remove from heat and as it cools the grounds will settle to the bottom and is ready to drink. It's how I always make coffee when I'm camping.
you need to test the rig on Az. AJ to "fish creek hill" road...itll take you through two lakes and the Roosevelt dam and lake...they just opened it. You must drive this gem.
Wow, Rodney seems to have grown a bunch! At least that's what it looks like to me. Thanks for the Video. I'm going to watch Chappell Roan's "Pink Pony Club" video and think about you having a blast......
All you have to do is get out of the truck and close the tailgate and then climb over the tailgate into the truck and then it’s all you have to do is close the back glass
It's definitely easier 'normal' to be driving a truck rather than the van with its higher center of gravity. And Rodney needs a slow feeder bowl 'a maze bowl' to slow down his eating, he's like a vacuum cleaner. I wonder if he'd ever stop eating if you kept refilling his bowl...until the next one and travel on !!
Nikki it would be cool if you could design a snap away blanket for fur babies. My dog only wears a snap around winter coat and I can't find any that are thick enough to keep him warm. We sleep in our SVU camping in most of the winter months. He is a 85lb pitty mix short hair and gets cold easily. I would definitely buy a few if you could design a snap away fitting coat that can work with his harness so we could wear both. Thanks 😊from this Midwest girl
Just a guess here but I think that the black square button on the blue(2nd) burner stove is a piezo-lighter so you just have to press that to lit the gas
