This is the most encouraging video I have listened to. May you be blessed as you have blessed me today. I feel so much more positive and hope to find my NP job soonest-
Awww, thanks so much for that, I hope you do find it soon, I know it can be frustrating but trust me you will find something. I was getting frustrated when I was looking as well. How long have you been job hunting?
Thank you for your honest advice. recently I am doing interview , today even i went shadowing . some part i did not like it. but another pot is good for start.my husband says don't do it. but he does not know anything for np. actual NP can only give advice to NP. thank you for your time !
Hello, I admire you alot and I like your videos. I am also a fnp novice. I am looking into inpatient setting. Any advice you can share about rounding, what exactly do you do when doing rounds? Also, could you share more about your approach to complicated cases, ex complicated imagining and or lab results you don't understand well, how do you handle them? Being in the hospital setting, do you approach Residents doctors for clinical support or do you use medical encyclopedia or do just consult with your Attending physician? tx
Thanks for watching! if I don't understand something I only consult my attending physician. I am fortunate to be working with a Dr who I can go to, however I try and look it up before I ask him and I would say to him, this is what I am thinking what do you think about that. I always go to him with a solution and just out right asking.
@@fromcnatonp thanks so much for your swift response. Indeed, having a doctor who is very understanding and approachable makes the job worth doing. Tx and keep up the good work.
Great video as always! Question for you...I know MI is a restricted practice state for NPs (like TX, where I reside). Did you have to have a collaborative agreement in place prior to applying for your DEA number?
Thanks!! When I was applying I did it alone unlike most of my colleagues who had the office manager at their place of employment do so for them... I started the application process before I had a job and was told 4-6weeks for processing and at that time I didn’t have a collaborating physician once my NP license was active I was able to apply... hope this help
@@fromcnatonp Oh yes, it helps. It's interesting how different states do things differently. I contacted the local DEA office here and they said I need to have an agreement in place prior to even applying for the DEA number, which the BON website does not really say you do (all it say is to have a license and prescriptive authority number, which I have). I wonder sometimes. I'm gonna investigate further because I really want to get it before I find my first job. Thanks again 😉
Yes look into it further!! how long have you been looking? and how is the job market for NP in Texas? I am glad I be of help bc I felt like when I was becoming a NP a lot of ppl with hold information like really its information to better the next person!! Good Luck
@@fromcnatonp I hear ya girl. I try to share the wealth. I give names of preceptors to strangers on the ENP Network online for those looking because I know what it was like. Job market here is tricky. Some folks find jobs fast, for others it make take a while. I have a potential position with one of my preceptors so, I should be in there by May if nothing else comes up. I just finished in December so it hasn't been too long. I'm just waiting on God to open the right door for me. I'm patient 😊
I am in Michigan. I have been board certified for 4 weeks and still cannot find a job. Primary care, urgent care and family care is fine. But if these practices do not take a chance on a new grad then how am I to get experience.
Thanks for watching.... honestly 4 weeks is not bad. I hope you find something soon. Yes they are all requiring experience which we do not have. Hopefully you will find someone that will take a chance on you. Most new NP wait 3-6 months to find something. Others longer. Best of luck
