Through the First Person program, Holocaust survivors have the opportunity to share their remarkable personal stories of hope, tragedy, and survival with thousands of visitors at the Museum. This program was recorded on March 23, 2017. It features Susan Warsinger (née Hilsenrath), who was born in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, in 1929. After Kristallnacht, Susan and her brother Joseph were sent to Paris. They later traveled through Spain and Portugal to the United States, where in 1941 they were reunited with their parents.
