First reaction to ASTERISM - "BLAZE" and "DAWN" 

This is the BEST three piece instrumental rock band I've ever heard in my LIFE!!! And they're still TEENAGERS!!! INCREDIBLE!!!!

The first time I heard Dawn it literally brought tears to my eyes.

Asterism means (a band of stars) which fits them very well, Haruka's stage name Hal-Ca guitar, Miyu Bass, and his older brother Mio drums met in 2014 and formed their band in 2016 took off big time, released their debut Ep The session Vol 1 in 2017 they were only 13 through 15 years old. On this show, Hal-Ca was 16 and Miyu was 17 and Mio was 19. As of date Hal-Ca is 19, Miyu is 20, and Mio is 22. In 2019 they were worldwide touring and I got to see them at the SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas and they blew us all away. We are still hoping that soon they will come back to showcase themselves once again. I knew you were going to love this band and wait till I introduce you to another master on the guitar Ay Gusfanz from Indonesia, Hal-Ca and Ayu are my top number one and my number two are Miyako and Midori of Lovebites. I don't think there are any male guitarists that can beat these ladies at all

Biiiiig thank you for reacting to this incredibly talented and criminally unknown band. They are just otherworldly good at still such a young age, all of them. Guitarist Hal-Ca is only 19 by now and must have been 16 or 17 when this was recorded. And, btw, Miyus bass has 7 strings 😉 Please listen to more of them, like "Church" or "Light in the darkness".

There is a conglomeration of guitarists in the world, different ones. Old and young. Talented and not so talented. Ingenious and simply diligent. And then there's Hal-CA, hovering in the clouds above all of them.

HaL - Ca is probably the fastest female shredder in Japan . Bucket Head was so impressed with her that he played a couple of songs on their Album .Some people call her Steve Vai 's Granddaughter .

Wonderful reaction! I feel the same emotions as you watching this magnificent performance. Just for an update - Asterism guitarist Hal-Ca has been doing more singing lately, perhaps to get more of a fan base. She has a beautiful voice!

Hal-Ca is another Midori from LOVEBITES.....that seven strings bass was made specially for him by ESP....

It’s hard to tell because of the filming angle, but HAL-CA is only like 4’ 10” or 150cm of pure music fire bomb!🤯💪🏻🤘🏻

Since this performance, Asterism signed with Amuse, Inc. (Perfume, BABYMETAL, etc.). Their latest couple of EPs, 'GUERNICA' and 'GUERNICA + a' are their most progressive and experimental so far. The follow up is going to be a Japanese anime x metal cover album titled "Animetic", to be released on September 9th, 2022. Not what I was expecting, but I'm really looking forward to it. I met them in Los Angeles in 2019 where they played a small club, before heading back to Japan. Besides being incredibly talented, they are super nice and polite.

They are an instrumental trio. They have done some covers where they have a guest vocalist, in particular, Maki Oyama, who also has worked with the power metal band Aldious. The bassist and drummers are brothers (Miyu and Mio) and were introduced to the guitarist Haruka (Hal-ca) at a youth music festival. Bootsy Collins (ex-bassist for James Brown) is a fan, he helped produced their first full album Ignition. They attended the Yamaha Music School in Fukuoka. Their 1st US concert was at the Japan Night event of SXSW in Austin, which Yamaha was a sponsor of. Hal-ca plays a high-end Yamaha Pacifica.
