You guys are coming at this from a angle. This man has a 7 octave range. He has trained for 20 years, has two singing degrees and is completing his doctorate. He sings everything from pure opera to pop ,rock, musical theatre, to acid punk. He sings in 12 languages and plays 7 instruments. It's unusual that the fans would suggest THIS for a first listening. This is all head voice. This song is my MOST favorite - I"ve listened to it a million times since he released 8/26. But just know that Dimash has the widest vocal color palate of any singer I've ever heard.....chest, base, baritone, opera, pop, rock, tenor, alto, soprano, high soprano. He even occasionally, if the material calls for it, sings a couple notes off the top of the piano that do not exist on the piano. He just released a few days before AM a new song called Stranger that sounds like it could be the theme song for Game of Thrones or a battle film...and in that song he uses a broader vocal color range with immense vocal power and stamina!!! This is NOT Shubert's Ave Maria. This piece was composed by Igor Krutoy the man at the piano (Russia) with lyrics by Sharon Vaughn (US). It was inspired by Shubert's AM, but it is NOT a cover which has already been done 10 million times. this is a NEW creation that no other male vocalist could sing! The only thing I can say is get ready, hold on REAL TIGHT and get ready to have your musical minds blown to smithereen!!

This Ave Maria is a vocalise of Caccini's Ave Maria and has been sung hundreds of times by lots of singers. The musical arrangement behind it is Igor's and it's modern and beautiful. I've only ever heard it sung with the words but here our beloved Dimash uses no words to convey the truest, deepest meaning I've ever heard. Many blessings ❤🙏

Realize that the Singer competition of Chinese star singers in China required world hit covers and only one original song allowed on one episode. People hear a lot of these 2017 songs and assume Dimash only sings covers. He is a massive star in China and released many hit singles and one triple platinum album "iD" and is building his original song repertoire in Russia and Kazakhstan. All beautiful with stunning vocals each different from each other, unique in style and genre. He is currently preparing to release an all Kazakh album but keeps releasing original singles through the streaming platforms and videos through RU-vid.

“How can he (Dimash) do this?” Through education and many years of honing his craft. A musical prodigy, he is the grandson of accomplished musicians from Kazakhstan. His mother is a soprano and his father is also a singer. Dimash started music school at the age of 5. He is classically trained and graduated with a degree in contemporary music. In 2020, he received a Master’s degree in Composition and is currently pursuing a PhD. Dimash works hard to hone his craft which is very evident in his body of work. In addition, he is also a fabulous human being: humble, family oriented, respectful, kind, & patriotic.
Vocal range is just one factor to talk about him. If you listen more to his performances and songs, you will know why many vocal coaches/ viewers believe he is the best singer with full package!
I enjoyed your reaction but this was probably not the best choice of song to start your Dimash journey. I only recently discovered Dimash after ignoring him in my RU-vid recommendations for over a year. I figured he was just the latest pop "sensation" and I generally do not listen to that genre of music. I am almost embarrassed to admit that I have since watched hours upon hours of reactions to his various performances. I mostly watch reactions from professional vocal coaches, many with backgrounds in Opera. I came across your channel, and like you, I am absolutely amazed by his incredible talent, ability, vocal range and dynamics, his delivery, as well as his stage presence. You have barely even begun to scratch the surface of his talent and vocal ability. I am looking forward to your next reaction. By the way, some Dimash fans are almost cultic to the point of fanaticism and they get outright defensive and combative over any perceived criticism of their "object of worship." I am simply an admirer of good music and talent, regardless of genre, and do not count myself among the Dimash fanatics, but I am utterly amazed by him. From what I gathered, Dimash is from a very musical family and started singing and piano lessons at the age of five when he was found to have perfect pitch. He is university-educated with degrees in classical/opera, contemporary music, pop, and jazz with a major in vocal. He also completed a Broadway musical master’s class and has recently completed his Master's with a concentration in Composition; his thesis was titled: "Personal Image of Traditional Music". He graduated with Honours, achieving a perfect score of 100%. He is currently working towards his Ph.D. as he wants to teach music after his singing career. Dimash has diligently honed his craft and developed his God-given gift for more than 20 years now and it shows. I read somewhere that Dimash used to swim 3 hours every day to increase his lung capacity. It's not just raw natural talent but tremendous work, dedication, and discipline to achieve this level of performance. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a much-loved national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He was even offered a place with the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down to follow his own path and he has been very successful thus far. He sings in 12 different languages, speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is getting pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a very hard language to learn. Dimash also plays six instruments; the piano, dombra, guitar, xylophone, cello, and drums. During his live concerts, he usually performs for more than two hours and treats his audience to an eclectic mix of styles. His range is 7 octaves and 1 semitone (A2 to D8; F2-B5-F6-G#7), spanning across all four registers. As many probably know, the four registers, from lowest to highest are: vocal fry (pulse), modal voice, falsetto, and flageolet (whistle tone), and Dimash seems to effortlessly navigate between them, often within a single breath and without a break in between. Dimash has even hit a D8 for ~5 seconds with vibrato, the highest note ever performed during a live performance. He sings in multiple musical genres. His main genre is classical crossover, but he also sings classical music (bel canto) pop, and world music. He uses musical elements, and vocal styles and techniques of many other genres, including jazz, rock (e.g. screams), RnB, musical theater, even rap.

Great reaction, don't worry about the swearing, most people get struck like that when they hear his voice for the first time. I'm old enough to honestly say that he is the greatest voice I have ever heard and probably the greatest humanitarian too. He has a huge back catalogue to work through covering everything from Rock, Rap, pop to opera. He mixes genres within the same song, even reinventing genres too. He's a true musical genius forged by genetics and 20 plus years of training. Even as an established artist now famous across the globe (he has a ten million strong fan base from over 50 countries) he still does vocal training for 3 hours a day and has recently expanded his range from 6 octaves to 7. He's a very humble person who gets embarrassed by compliments and is never satisfied with his performance, always striving to improve and develop. Oh, plus he's still only 27, is from Kazakhstan and currently working on his PhD whilst touring the world, and recording.

@@jus2react it doesn't bother me personally but Di does have a massive varied audience from ladies in their later years down to children. (Kids have a tendency to flock to him). It may be an idea to bleep some of the worst ones out, but it's your channel and entirely your decision. I'm just looking forward to your future reactions as I know what my first impressions of Dimash were and I certainly wouldn't have been brave enough to start with the Ave Maria. You will certainly have many suggestions flooding in, my advice would be to try and find ones with subtitles (most of the ones directly from his channel will have them) as he sings in 12 different languages and sometimes knowing the lyrics helps understand the range of emotions in the song.
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever listened to, and only Dimash's voice could evoke such profound emotions within me. This rendition touches the very core of my soul. I have watched this performance numerous times already since it premiered and my eyes fill with tears the moment I hear the first note sung by Dimash's angelic voice. This is a vocalise interpretation of Ave Maria that Igor Krutoy (on the piano) composed for Dimash, using only 4 original bars from the original composition. There are at least 10 other compositions titled "Ave Maria" and over 40 different renditions of these versions. The version most people are likely familiar with is Schubert's 1825 composition or the 1853 Gounod composition, based on a famous Bach keyboard prelude written 137 years earlier. I have followed Dimash since 2017 in the Chinese singing competition ,there is 13 rounds with the best Chinese singers pitting against each other ,Dimash was an outsider and they were all taken back ,you can see their faces amazed. I went to see him live in London and I cannot tell you how good it was . Endless dimensions is one I recommend as is Adagio from the singer competition,there is too many fantastic performances but start way back then you can see him get better and better. He’s from Kazakhstan his parents are singers he’s 6ft 3 and about 25 now. He sang girl and boy parts at music school to increase his range and swam underwater holding his breath so he can hold notes longer dedicated I must say . This guy is out of this world there is nobody like him as you will see ,happy watching I will be watching with you

Amazing premiere of the new composition written by Igor Krutoy for Dimash's voice. This is not the Ave Maria you have heard from other singers. Gorgeous vocalization and there may be a few sopranos that could cover this song, likely none would sound as beautiful.

Lots of info from others here about Dimash. He is worldwide famous he has been in his own country Khazhstan for many years, his parents are also famous singers, his Mother is a soprano. After being invited to The Singer competition in China in 2017, at age 22, his first song SOS, a cover made him world famous overnight around the world. He came 2nd in that competition and the rest is history. Apart from his vocal range and versatility he is a very humble and kind humanitarian, supporting many charities in Khazhstan and around the world. He has his own production company which his Father runs, Dimash Ali and he's an independent artist. He has held concerts around the world including New York Barclays Centre in 2019 to 30k plus audiences. He calls his fans Dears and they are across all age groups from teens to seniors. He has something for everyone. He's due to live in the USA soon, to further his career in the West and Europe. Covid put the breaks on this move.
