They posted a live performance of Hypa Hypa they did for tv I think. I wasnt sure how they would pull it off live but they do. I know you just went through the trouble of getting this video put back up so I'm not sure if you're ready to revisit this but I thought I'd let you know it might be worth a look at some point

Humour in music is a dangerous tight rope to walk, it has to be really really well written and performed for it to work. Tenacious D spring to my mind because their songs are very well put together and performed. These guys have done it too, this song is amazing and SO fun!

Greetings from Germany! 😂 I heard this song a couple days ago for the first time myself. Read the title and thought of Scooter immediately (a 90s German techno band), because they have a song called "Hyper Hyper". but I thought "no way they would cover it because I knew it had to be some kind of metal-related music. then I heard the first few notes and thought "no, they didn't. they just took the title, the beat reminds me of "Maria (I like it loud)" although it is not exactly the same". then the heavy part kicked in and it instantly put me in a really good mood. the mix of those genres with the humor is done pretty well and I love it. 😁 I love your facial expressions in this one, btw. 🤣

Love the part in the end, about taking musicians that create fun music (if well done) seriously. 👌🏻 Plus, your reaction here reminds me how I felt when I watched my first EC music video back in 2013 - it was WE ARE THE MESS (from the album of the same name) and that song has a pretty similar structure as HYPA HYPA (but it wasn‘t as elaborated yet; but still the track that made me fall in love with them [the older tracks IS ANYONE UP & MUFFIN PURPER-GURK then underlined my feelings]). Has a "Miami Vice" feel, until it explodes! Thought I saw it here first, but hadn't "Liked" so must have been Hop's Metal or? I've been looking for this post for a while to (I thought) go back and compare to the 100s of other reactions I've seen of this song. I always enjoy your take on songs and getting exposed to new stuff, even if I don't like all of it. THANKS!

Eskimo Callboy are as incredible a band as they are incredible people. They just do what they want, and they do so with a lot of passion and professionalism, despite the sometimes scetchy approach. Hypa Hypa is a great example of that. I'd really like to see you react to one of their more serious songs, Chase! If you got the time, you should check out their song "Prism". Thanks for the video!

Couldn't agree more with your analysis. I completely understand that it is a very unique sound that will not resonate with everyone, but as someone who grew up on metal, rap, and edm... this had me smiling from ear to ear the whole time.

Would recommend two more songs from Eskimo Callboy - MC Thunder (basicly here they started with the funny music videos) and Crystals (they said in the past that they put the most work in that song). Both vids are with their old singer Sebastian, also known as Sushi. This year Sushi left the band and Nico took his place as singer.
