You mention you thought you heard her use of vibrato: Well, since you're not sure you heard it, if you look at her left hand, you'll "see" it. Watch how it "vibrates" in imitation of her voice.

Just to add to the amazement. She has kept a diary since learning to write. At this age she went to the Middle East with her Mother and Grandmother where she recorded her meeting with an orphaned girl. At the age of eight and nine she wrote a book based on her diary entries at age six. Titled “Between Two Harts “. At nine she became the youngest published author in Norwegian history. You should read this book which will be all you need to know about who and what Angelina is. No six year old should or has expressed these thoughts to my knowledge. Consider that while singing this song she was reading the lyrics in her third language. Norwegian and Persian being her first two at this point in her life. Prodigy does not meet the criteria for this child. Have a wonderful journey learning about Angelina Jordan Astar.

There is another video of this out there that has been enhanced both visually and the audio so that it can be seen and heard clearer, but this does give you the indication that at 6 years old she is VERY gifted.

Your reactions and comments are very interesting Didy.Angelina obviously has a special "ear" for music to pick up these songs and sing them flawlessly in her own arrangements.This "ear" is a gift Quincy Jones and David Foster have,both of which have gushed about Angelina coincidentally.I predict one day she will produce music and probably other artists.May I suggest that you give Angelina her own playlist,as is common amongst reactors,and to honor her with being your first artist with her own playlist.

This was in her school (an after school music program) studio. It is thought that the "engineer" was actually her music teacher. His comment meant that it was a good first take. It was not her first time in the studio (she has about 5 recordings there) but is definitely the best.

They did a great job, letting her get such training, even at evaluating her performances, and get comfortable in such surroundings. There are several videos from these sessions she had. They are probably mostly pre NGT, and I highly recomand for you to see them. They are even worthy of reactions I think. The one she does "Rolling In The Deep" (by Adele) shows her as she really is on fire. 🔥 As it is prior video to the one you just did see, it is one of those rare performances we are able to see she wear shooes. (A big thing in the world of Angelina and her fanbase, as you probably already know.) The thumbs are probably for her filming Grandma, Iranian artist Mery Zamani, her inspiration, her mentor, who introduced her to jazz, especially to her first idol, Billie Holiday...

Others have suggested he is actually Angelina's music teacher and that the studio is an educational facility in the basement of her school in Oslo. Now, you are Norwegian and are well placed to answer your own question by hooking up with this teacher/engineer by Zoom, Skype or whatever, and recording a short interview with him about his memories of this particular occasion, which is a key event in her story. You can brush up on your editing skills by interleaving the conversation with relevant excerpts from Meri's home movie. If you need help with that, I'd be happy to advise. I can guarantee that Angels world-wide will flock to watch such an upload! R (Australia)

FYI: I think the man's name who's list you are using is Rusty SHACKLEFORD. You forgot to mention, not only how well she sang for her age, but that she sang the song in her SECOND language at 6!!!! That's even more amazing. Regarding Angelina's effect on the engineer, can you imagine the studio musicians and engineers who participated in her other studio appearance on 'I Put A Spell On You'. Even if they worked with her before, working in a recording studio & being recorded on video, as well, is a different animal from just jamming or singing to a sound track. I would've liked to have seen their faces and listened to what they may have said in the parking lot(car park).

I'm going to say something extremely controversial, here: I believe there are good reasons to doubt the two most repeated pieces of information about this particular performance (one of which has made its way into your video title), that she was 6 and that this was her first time in a recording studio. Both claims are undermined by the appearance of her teeth, which look (to me) _exactly_ like they did when her adult teeth were growing in, in early 2014, and _nothing_ like they did when she still had some baby teeth among her four upper front teeth (as seen in every other video of her working in this studio [where you can see her teeth, anyway] - except for one short clip of her singing this same song on a different day [a later one]). To be more specific, I estimate that she was about 8 years and 2 months old here (so, late February or early March 2014), just based on her teeth. This idea is supported (again, IMO) by multiple lines of "circumstantial evidence", including: (1) the appearance of her face (admittedly, nowhere near as reliable as the teeth); (2) how well she stayed on pitch, especially when she got loud (which was a real problem for her before she turned 8); (3) the fact that footage of her singing this song was first seen by the general public in late March 2014, in a "news story" about her (it was the aforementioned "short clip" of that later take); and (4) when the studio posted on their Facebook page in May 2014, congratulating her for winning NGT, they said, "It's been great having you in the studio and watching your developement over the past year". If she had actually been working with them since she was 6, ISTM that they probably would have said "two years" (or something else). Now, it is likely that someone will want to point out that the fan who posted this video (in January 2015) recalls that when he came across it on YT (and snagged a copy before it disappeared shortly afterwards), he mentally estimated her age as 6, based on the date of the upload (which he has repeatedly admitted he can't actually remember, since he didn't save that information at the time). I think this might be explainable as possible confusion with similar videos that were posted in June and July of 2013 (and are still there today). If he was searching YT for videos of her in March/April 2014, after her first one or two appearances on NGT, he might have come across those videos and this one, all showing her recording vocals in the same studio. At the time, I don't think the fact that she had already turned 8 had been stated on NGT (it was said in a later episode, and in various news stories around that time). So, if he thought she was still 7 in March/April 2014, then he probably would have estimated her age to have been 6 in June/July of 2013, the date on those other videos. And if this one was dated so much later than the others (February/March 2014), then he easily could have simply assumed it was posted long after it happened, and not given it a second thought. (That's plausible… right?) Finally, the specific claim that it was her "first time in the studio" comes, I think, from a misunderstanding of the exchange she has with the sound engineeer at the very end, where he says that her performance was good for a "first take" or "first time" (depending on which translation in the comments you want to go with). He clearly meant it was her first attempt at recording this particular song, not necessarily her first time ever singing in the studio! Pretty much every time I bring this up, someone loses their shit. Hopefully that won't happen this time. Anyway, now to actually watch your reaction… [grin]
