The other guy is Matt, he’s the bass. He sings the low notes to emphasize the beats that Kevin does. In old videos you’ll see the old bass guy, Avi. Both Matt and Avi are excellent basses!
This is my favourite song of the new album! The other guy ist Matt, he is doing the bass. The beatbox and bass together is the whole foundation of the song - also refered to 'meat & potatoes' and the trio (Mitch, Scott and Kirstin) are on top of that with their voices. And then their acting - just the cherry on top. You just GOT to love them.

The things falling from the sky startled me at first. I thought I had imagined it!! Wonderful reaction, I love it when your jaw just drops to the floor! PTX said they were trying to make it spooky. The fact that both Kevin and Matt had on eye makeup (1st time for them!), I'd say they succeeded!

Already subscribed, but agree they are awesome! This is such a great arrangement! Love the steampunk, Mad Hatter/Alice in Wonderland vibe to this. Definitely need more of this!!
If I may, you seem to mix things a bit regarding to the rythm section: Kevin is the beatboxer, and him alone. But he works side by side with the bass (Avi from 2011 to 2017, then Matt until today, and Scott when the regular bass takes the lead.) Listen carefully, they are so good at blending that I understand why you could think it's done all at once!
Bayo...great reaction as usual. I want to follow up on a couple of points you've made... First, you mentioned that you think Kevin is the best beatboxer in the world, I take umbrance to that statement as it understates his talents (lol). Kevin was trained in classical cello and appeared in Carnegie Hall at 18; he also plays the saxophone and 3-4 other instruments; he's a graduate of Yale and was accepted to their medical school, but declined to join Pentatonix; he speaks a couple of languages, including Mandarin; and, while he has a nice voice, Scott and Avi helped him to improve his singing and is now a contributing member; and he has his own RU-vid channel where he composes his own tracks....NOW, YOU MUST, MUST (PLEASE) CHECK OUT HIS SOLO OF "DOWN"...it will blow you away ! Secondly, Pentatonix arranges ALL of their songs with the help of Ben Bram, who is consider the 6th member. Their arrangements are a complete collaboration of all the members, but I believe that Scott and Ben have the final say...and generally, the arrangement starts with Kevin to see how he fits in to that arrangement !! Don't forget my previous recommendation of "Can You Feel the Love tonight (Lion King).

I like watching your reactions it's so real and like I am a huge fan of theirs but I also listen to Stan Walker he is a great singer one that deserves to be acknowledged for his epic talent just saying and of all the reactions in RU-vid your the first one I've e every commented on and yes I f follow your post, your doing great.
When you watch this again, watch for the flying clothes and other items dropping down on them. Definitely makes it feel like Alice in Wonderland. Their videos are always very clever.

Hey, you should react to VoicePlay and Home Free. Both of them are Acapella groups and are different to Pentatonix. If you love Bass voices, you'll love both groups. If you love beatboxing, both have you covered. Basically, everything you like about Pentatonix, VoicePlay and Home Free can provide in slightly different ways. This is actually one of the VERY few songs of theirs that I am just not into. FYI you said "They never fail to disappoint me" hehehe.. I think you meant either "They never disappoint me" or "They never fail to impress me." hehehe
I so wish they were still making Superfruit videos. I miss the two of them sharing their friendship with us. But people grow up, get new relationships, and naturally grow apart. Still hurts my heart a little though.
I often think PTX covers are better than the originals and this one is certainly well done. But better than Julie Andrews? I don't think I would ever say that. ;1
