I'm 70 years old and just like you I thought....I remember the first time I heard Zeppelin, Hendrix, John Denver,. Mariah Carey , Nirvana, White Stripes, RATM, ,....I could go on....today Ren showed up in my RU-vid feed and I immediately ran to my 41 year old musician son and said OMG you have to watch this !!!!!!! I know something special when I hear it and Ren is the real deal !!!!!! I too had several omg moments while watching this performance, especially when the devil appears and felt a soaring elation when God has his retort " I too have many names, I am HOPE, I am the One who loosens the knot in the rope" !!!! Ren is a stand alone master story teller, musician and artist !!!! Hi Ren is going to be his ticket to instant FAME !!!!! 😮😮😮😮

I have been watching reaction video after reaction video of this song for the past 2 weeks. I think I have heard/watched this song/performance about 100 times…and I have noticed that once the climax occurs with the dark side…and it switches to the light side. 99% of reactors stop worrying about how they are reacting, and start truly listening to this masterpiece. Thank you for your reaction video…and you have gained a new fan as well. I still get chills every time I watch Hi Ren, and I get even more when watching that transition of a reactor turning from a person scrutinizing a video…to someone scrutinizing themselves and how this hits them personally. Love it.

Ren's an absolute genius, such a multi talented guy, and who can disagree after a performance of his art like we have seen in this video. He's got many other amazing tracks / art including a trilogy (that needs to be watched in the correct order) called Jenny's tale, Screech's Tale and Violet's Tale. I only discovered him a couple of months ago myself but I'm sure it's not going to be long before he's very, very well known across the world.

I have never seen anything like this. This guy has just set another standard in music and performance art. He is pure genius !!! He had me mesmerized !

I have tears in my eyes every single time I listen to this. It hits so deep. I deal with alot of the same things from an autoimmune disease to the mental struggles and the struggles with medications, never quite getting that relief and getting to that point where the voice in your head takes over saying "why keep going to these doctors, it isn't going to help you"... That voice inside that isn't a real voice, but has so much to say and so much sway. We give it that power over us. I'm glad Ren seems to have found a way to handle it. Hope all of us who struggle with it kind find that dance and stop having to fight as victims.

A few things! 1) Really happy you discovered Ren. He is incredible! 2) That was a fantastic analysis for a first time listen and it was brilliant hearing your perspective. 3) Towards the end, Ren captured you. Like he captures most people. I don't know how many times I've watched this video (and the rest of his catalog now), but I literally get chills every time he rises from that chair. I know it's coming. I think this is one of the first reactions to mention him wearing a mic and being plugged in, this is what makes a lot of his videos hit harder for me, knowing how much skill he must have to get all this down and played so cleanly. He's something else.

Rens music and humanity are already making waves,he will not have to wait until he is gone before he achieves notoriety,for me personally,hi ren is the greatest piece of musical,video,lyrical and performance I have ever had the honor to listen to and watch,ren deserves to achieve what ever it is he wants,but more importantly he deserves the recognition and respect of the both the general public and the music industry,many many so called artists that have received recognition could only dream of having anywhere near as much talent as ren,God bless him!!

You can see the respect in your eyes. The silence at the end of the track was perfect, you knew that you had witnessed, possibly, one of the most creative musical artists of this century. You just were in awe and were not sure what to say as you sat in silence appreciating a master at work. The track is very complex and Ren nailed it. His timing is remarkable, the story telling superb and the production amazing.

I've watched several people break this masterpiece down, best One I've seen, he gives me Vincent Van Gogh vibes.

LOL! Everyone goes to "split personality" when they hear this, but it was just him articulating and expressing the internal dialogue that we all have. Musically, you missed the Celtic trick after Evil Ren's rant. Ren doesn't say the expected words and doesn't contribute to the tempo. He doesn't say, "I spent half OF my life BE-ING ill" He sings, "I spent half my life ill." In our heads we are adding the words he chopped until we are left wondering how we got out of step... Lastly, "Some people know me as 'HOPE' // Some people know me as the // voice that you hear when you loosen the noose on the rope" plays again and again in later songs such as Money Game Part 3. Thank you for doing this reaction video. It was fun seeing you evolve into the song you were listening to.

This song was the first Ren song I ever heard. It had a profound impact on me. The first time I heard it, it was so deep, so overwhelming that I suddenly had to cry, I was so deeply moved. I have never experienced such an authentic artist in my entire life. Since then, he has surprised me every day with his versatility and what moves him. I hope we will hear a lot more from him, and above all, I hope he gets better and doesn't have to constantly deal with pain and immense burden. It's always the people who give the most that have the least because they know from their own experience what it's like to be alone in the darkness, hoping for help that never appears.

Ren is the greatest musical artist of our generation, he's a modern day Van Gogh, but he still here and it's amazing.

In this song I love the difference in guitar melody between Ren and his dark side and back and forth. Ive now watched about 20 reaction videos to Hi Ren, some better than others, you captured the neuance in the lyric well for a first time listen and by now im sure youve realised there is so much more, beautifully set with emotion and passion in the cinematography, 3 cams, live vocals, man, guitar, perfection. I've watched Hi Ren at least 100 times in the past 2 weeks. Of those 100 times about 15 were react videos. Your reaction was the most authentic among the others, mainly due to the fact the when Ren locked his alter-ego inside and temptation and despair took over, you looked totally blown away, were speechless for the remainder of the performance.
