The long haired guy is Taemin, but ten years ago 😂 He was 17 in that video, Taemin debuted at 14. Lucifer is great live, I agree they didn’t need the autotune at all, specially when SHINee are known for being live vocal legends. Please react to more SHINee. “Sherlock” is really great (and the choreo, if you love choreo watch the dance version), “1of1” , “Married to the music”, “Juliette” etc... Apart from “Ring ding dong” there’s no more autotune. The guy you loved his voice is Onew. The taller one, rapper, is Minho. The guy who does the high notes is Jonghyun and the one with half the head shaved is Key.

SHINee's whole concept since debut is they are supposed to be SM's experimental boy group, so they are constantly making and setting trends. Trends SHInee has started? Lets make a list: -- They are the first group to start the trend of skinny colored jeans and form fitting outfits that showed off their athletic psychics for male idols. Before SHINee, the trend was hip-hop style with baggy clothing that was 3 times too big. (SHINee started the boyfriend/student look.) Their fashion trends have been given the name "SHINee Trend." -- They were one the first groups to have sharp precise synchronized dance moves and to show the world that they could sing live while performing complex choreography and sound flawless. Because of SHINee, everyone upped their standard when it comes to live performances and choreography. -- They were the very first group to release a dance practice video specifically so fans could see the full dance and they were the first to have a dance practice video become a trending video online. They are the reason why dance practice videos are a thing today. -- Jonghyun, SHINee's main vocalist, was one of the first IDOLS to be recognized as a singer/songwriter, and to produce songs for not only himself and his group, but for other artists as well. Jonghyun was highly respected within the industry for his songwriting and composing skills and he was considered one of the most prolific artists of his generation. About 40% of SHINee's songs were wrote by him, as well as all of his own solo songs and several songs for other artists, such as EXO, Taemin, IU, Lee HI, etc. -- And SHINee pretty much starts almost every trend in the music industry when it comes to the sound and style of their music. And every song they release is expected to be something that has never been seen or heard before. Not only is it expected to be something they have never done before, but they are expected to come up with a sound and style that has never been done before in the entire music industry. The industry looks to SHINee to set the trends and to show them the next direction to take. And that continues still today even after more than 11 years in the industry. -- SHINee are also often the ones to start the next dance style or trend in the Kpop industry with their choreography. -- They were the first group to use a world-famous choreographer to create their dance for their "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" MV. Tony Testa is a very well-known "Hollywood"-famous American choreographer who has also worked with some of the most famous artists, productions and dancers in the world, including Micheal Jackson. "Sherlock" was the first time SM (or pretty much anyone in the Kpop industry) had ever used a famous choreographer, and at the time, it was the most expensive Kpop production ever. Before then, dances were choreographed by the company's in-house choreographers. It was SHINee's skill level that proved to the industry that it was worth spending the money to have big name choreographers come up with dances that would help to showoff a group's talents.

SHINee really are legends in the industry. Their attention to detail and flawless vocals and dancing is what they are known for, and it's why they are so highly respected by their peers. (However, Taemin is always going to standout for his dancing. No one is as good or as powerful as him. Taemin is so passionate about dancing that he puts everything he has into his dancing every time. :D Next to Taemin, everyone looks like they aren't as good when it comes to their dancing. But the rest of the SHINee members are considered some of the best dancers in the industry as well.) The standard every idol in the industry strives to reach is the SHINee standard. SHINee really are one of the most talented and unique groups in Kpop. If you want to see where SHINee truly shines you have to watch some of their live concert footage. I recommend any thing from their SHINee World Concert III (SWC3) in Seoul or their SHINee World Concert IV (SWC4) in Seoul. You can find official DVD footage of the whole concert on RU-vid. Can you believe that SM originally wanted to make SHINee a hip-hop group? Hip-hop was the style of music that was really popular in 2008 when they debuted. That's why Key and Minho are both rappers and how Taemin started out as a popper in dance. But as Key tells it, they just didn't have the swag to pull of hip-hop, so SM switched up their sound and style to something that fit them better and they came up with the signature classic SHINee R&B vocals they are now known for. I, for one, am so glad they debuted with their signature R&B style instead of hip-hop. Can you imagine if the world never knew the amazing vocals and sound that is SHINee today? Things would be so different. May 25, 2019 was SHINee's 11th anniversary. So SHINee are part of the second generation of Kpop and yet they are younger then most everyone in their generation and are the same age, or even younger, than most other groups such as EXO and BTS, etc.which are part of Kpop's third generation. SHINee debuted young and have the experience of seasoned veterans. It just goes to show you why they are legends in the industry. SHINee debuted in 2008 when Onew (the leader and lead vocalist) was 18, Jonghyun (the main vocalist and songwriter) had just turned 18, Minho (the main rapper and sub-vocalist) and Key (lead vocalist and sub-rapper) were 16 and Taemin (Main dancer and lead vocalist) was 14, so now after 11 years they are all in their late to mid-20s. (Onew just turned 30 in December) SHINee are some of the most well respected artists in the industry. The group is currently on hiatus right now because 3 of the members are fulfilling their military obligations. Onew (Pronounced Oh-New, real name Lee JinKi) is the leader of the group and he has one of the most unique and best vocals in the industry. His vocals are unmatched. He even holds the record (40+ seconds) for the longest continuous note without changing tone or pitch or ever being off key, etc. His record still stands today. Onew is currently serving in the military. He is part of the military's promotional team so he is spending a lot of time as a stage actor alongside several other idols who are also serving in the military right now. Jonghyun is known as one of the best vocalist in Kpop who was one of the most prolific songwriters and composers of his generation. Jonghyun wrote and composed over 40% of SHINee's songs, plus he wrote all of his own solo songs and numerous songs for other artists such as EXO's "Playboy" and songs for Taemin, IU and Lee HI, etc., as well as participated in several movie and drama OSTs. He was one of the only SM artists to be given complete artistic control over his work, including several of SHINee's song selections. SM knew that if Jonghyun was involved in any way that the song would be a hit. He was extremely respected within the industry as a songwriter, composer and singer. As the main vocalist, Jonghyun is the one you hear with all the amazing high notes and R&B runs and ad libs most of the time. As I mentioned, Key is our diva and fashionista of the group who is SHINee's stylist for a lot of their MVs and stage outfits. SHINee are known for setting trends and never being afraid to experiment with their sound or look, so Key is known for really paying attention to detail when it comes to fashion. He is known for always being unique and wanting to standout. He is an amazing singer and is a sub-rapper in the group. He is also known as SHINee's dance copy machine. Key has the ability to see and remember choreography the fastest in the group. He only needs to watch the dance once and he has it memorized. He is also SHINee's fluent English speaker, and he is almost as good as a native speaker. Key is serving in the military right now as well. He is part of the military band. Minho is the main rapper and visual of the group, but his vocals are also some of the best in the industry. Minho sings just as much as he raps. He also writes most of his own raps in SHINee's songs. Minho is one of the top actors in the industry and he has starred in numerous dramas and movies. Minho is also known as a top athlete. He says these days he goes to the gym a couple of times a day to work out just because he likes to work out. but he is also crazy about soccer, and he plays basketball, baseball and golf, and he is good at track and field events, etc,, as well. And not only does he enjoy playing all those sports, but he is usually the best athlete on the field and he pretty much wins every time. There is a reason why Minho's nickname is "Flaming Charisma," and one reason is for his intense passion for sports and his need to always win. He currently is serving in the military and is a member of an elite branch of the Marines. And as you now know, Taemin is considered one of THE BEST dancers in the industry and that's not just by fans but by everyone in the industry, both young and old. Taemin's nickname is the Korean Michael Jackson. From the very beginning, even at 14 years old, Taemin was known as one of the best dancers in the industry, and you will soon discover with the more that you watch from SHINee and Taemin's solo work that he has only gotten more magnificent over the years. Taemin truly is art when it comes to his performances. SHINee are one of the top groups that are known for the fact that they all can do it all. They are a group of 5 amazing vocalists, 5 impressive dancers, 5 visuals, 5 rappers, 5 top actors, and 5 of the most talented and unique voices in all of Kpop. Once you get to know them better you will wonder how it was even possible that you couldn't tell them apart. As a Shawol (a SHINee fan) I tell people that once you get to know their voices you will always be able to pick them out of a crowd just by the sound of their voice. I can tell who is speaking or singing within 1 second even with my eyes closed with them standing in a crowd of people. Each of their voices are that unique -- there is no one with a voice like any of their's. That is why they are "The Princes of Kpop". SHINee are known for their live vocals and amazing dancing. They are known as CD-quality singers because they sound just as good live, if not better, than they do recorded. SHINee always sings live. The ONLY thing they are not good at is lip syncing so they avoid it at all costs, so when you hear SHINee singing 95% of the time it will be live. They have trained their entire career to be able to sing live and always sound flawless while performing extremely complex choreography. You really should check out some of their live performances because their stages are like none other. Their concerts last 3 to 4 hours straight and they perform nonstop and never sound out of tune or out of breath. They are also one of the best dancers in Kpop and they have some of the best harmonies you will ever hear. If you know EXO, then you know how good of vocalists they are, well, the members of SHINee actually were mentors to a lot of the EXO members and they helped coach them in their singing. The EXO members and SHINee members are all around the same age and they were in the same trainee classes together, and yet SHINee debuted 4 years before EXO. So, that just goes to show you a little bit of what makes SHINee so amazing and why they are considered legends.

The one in Red is Taemin. Taemin is only 26 now but SHINee members were pretty young when they debuted 12 Years Ago. Taemin youngest was 14, Onew oldest was 18.

SHINee's "Lucifer" came out in 2010, almost 10 years ago, so this was just kind of the look that a lot of MVs had back then. Take a look at a TVXQ, Super Junior, Infinite or 2PM MV, etc. from around that time and you will see a similar look and style. SHINee was setting trends in the industry with 'Lucifer." Why is everyone so thrown by their hairstyles and outfits in this MV? I think they are actually all pretty cool for doing something different that sets them apart from everyone else in the industry. And that is what makes SHINee legends and why "Lucifer" is such an iconic song and dance.You're not going to remember a group or a song if they look and sound the same as everyone else, you remember them for standing out and not being afraid to be unique. In the MV the boys don't have superpowers, but the "smoke" or "light trail" you see is supposed to represent the aura of a girl who has devilish powers like Lucifer, who is trying to possess them and take over their lives. As the English lyrics say "Loveaholic, robotronic ... her whisper is the Lucifer." (They are using auto tune because they are supposed to be "robotronic"-ly controlled by the girl who is "The Lucifer." So the auto tune is meant to make them sound robotic.) So, in other words, the women or girl they are talking about is so desirable that she is like Lucifer and you have to use all your willpower just to resist her wiles. In the MV you see them trying to fight against her powers and resist her attempts to try to make them bend to her will, etc. That's why in the choreography you see all the robotic moves because they are showing how "Lucifer" is trying to control them like a robot -- for example, they put their wrists together like they are being handcuffed to show how she is trapping them. And they vibrate to show how they are being manipulated by "Lucifer" and they are trying to resist her powers, etc. (FYI: That vibration you saw them do is 100% them actually shaking like that, there aren't any camera tricks. If you pay attention when they perform Lucifer live, you will see them do that exact same thing. :D) LOL we have no idea why they had to be dancing in front of a sports car, but that was kind of an iconic thing that Kpop companies did back then in a lot of their MVs, The group would dance around a fancy car to showoff their coolness and to give the video a more futuristic, expensive looking aesthetic. Key is our diva and fashionista of the group who is SHINee's stylist for a lot of their MVs and stage outfits. SHINee are known for setting trends and never being afraid to experiment with their sound or look, so Key's head was 100% really shaved bald on the one side. What you see is head has been shaved all the way down to his scalp. He is known for always being unique and wanting to standout. That's why Key's style is often just straddling the edge of outrageous, but somehow always manages to look cool. This was the era where Taemin had long hair and it made him one of the most popular of the members at the time, especially with their Japanese fans. The Japanese culture rally embraces men with long hair and the members said that he was one of the most popular at the time because of his style. Taemin with long hair is so iconic and many in the fandom were really sad when he eventually cut his hair. When Taemin debuted as a member of SHINee in 2008 he was only 14 years old, so in "Lucifer" he is only about 16. SHINee are one of the most iconic and influential groups as trendsetters. Like I often remind people who are new to Kpop, when watching these older MVs you have to put everything into context of when it was released. And the song itself is very complicated with the songs wide range of notes and flow. Many amateurs have thought "Lucifer" looks like one of SHINee's more simple songs and dances. But the minute they try to sing the song and/or dance the choreography, they soon discover that it is way more complicated then they thought. Its funny because when they came to meet SHINee to start the practice, Jonghyun asked them why they chose this song of all songs, and they said because it looks manly and they thought it was fairly easy to cover. But the first thing Jonghyun said to them, while laughing, was "oh no, actually its one of our more difficult choreography and it took us extra time to really perfect it." :D You should also check out SHINee's dance practice for "Lucifer." SHINee's "Lucifer" dance practice was the very first dance practice video ever released specifically for fans. SHINee is the group that started the trend and they are why dance practice videos are even a thing today. :D It was the very first dance practice video to go viral, even before viral was a thing. "Lucifer" may not be your favorite song now, but just wait. I think it will grow on you. After listening to it more, I think you might eventually find yourself drawn to it. Like Lucifer, you might find that the song starts to worm its way into your subconscious, and it gets you bobbing your head when you least expect it. Its called the Lucifer effect. LOL Now that you have heard the song, you will probably start hearing it all over the place. Its one of those songs that is used everywhere and it's kind of a SHINee theme song. It was even used on the U.S. Netflix TV show called "Lucifer."

‪Every time I watch or listen to an old SHINee song it’s like a jump back in time when oppa bling Jongie (Jonghyun) was alive it brings tears of sadness & enjoy because I miss his smile and powerful voice but when I listen & watch to the present SHINee I know and see Jonghyun presence still alive within his brothers and group which makes me happy but still tear up at times. Jonghyun along with the groups web segments that theyve done always make me crack up to tears 😂. When this title track came out there was allot of religious theories about it because of the word being used but it’s not that at all. *Reading between lines* it’s more about a relationship that the guy can’t seem to get away from because the girl is so evilly addictive (like lucifer) because in reality kpop artists can’t be in relationships with anyone without fans getting extremely jealous and Kmedias doing everything they can to get a story whether it’s true or not. Later, the album was repackaged as “HELLO” in October 2010.‬

Thanks for your reaction to Shinee, I’m glad you’re looking into them. 💙 The other commenters have given you lots of information. You really should check out their live performances. All the members did solo work except for Minho. Jonghyun and Taemin (my bias💙🤩) have done the most. I already commented on NCT 127 “Regular” mv that you should check out Taemin’s work & listed songs & provided the links. Key released an album just before enlisting because he wanted to give music to the fans. Check out “I Wanna Be”, “One of Those Nights”, great dancing, beat & songs. Onew’s “Blue” is a haunting mv with lots of symbolisms & such beautiful vocals. It’s about a time when Onew was going through some difficulties (celebrating a friends birthday at a club, was drunk, lost his footing & by accident he grabbed/touched a woman’s leg, sued for sexual assault, he was put through the wringer by media & fans, he locked himself at home for a long time) while and how people turned their backs and others were vicious in attacks but what got him through were friends, family and true fans. Enjoy the adventure!
