The Soviets were true heroes of WWII who fought 24/7 from 1941 to 1945, defeating more than 80% of the German army. When the rest of the Western allies in 1944 decided to open another front in Eastern Europe (d-day), Germany had already lost entire regiments and was on the defensive, due to lack of men they began to recruit children and the elderly.
The recording is from 1943. The footage is a compilation going backwards in time from a parade in 1984 to some sporting events around the late 40's and early 50's, then to the Battle of Berlin in 1945.
