for the oil drain plug, I recently just stripped the hole for it on my '07 kx250f. The best fix I found was to use aluminum brazing rods to fill in the hole, and to redrill a hole for the bolt to fit into. Because the aluminum brazing point is much lower than normal aluminum that the case is made out of, you can easily use a torch to head up both the brazing and the case. It worked pretty smooth and wasn't to much of a hassle.

Have owned and built quite a few of these RMs over the years. Front brake sucks - oversized rotor and 2008+ CRF front master cylinder is a must have. Tall seats are nice and look good. Limited frame guard options, make your own with ABS Kydex plastic (heat to form). Stock clutch baskets are always worn, causing slipping, buy an aftermarket new one. If you don't want the yellow tank, use RIT DYE Proline to change tank to black. Better off fixing the drain bolt yourself, cases are very hard to find or they cost an arm and a leg. On my 03 rm 125 i have a Bill's racing fatty pipe and shorty muffler, v force carbon fiber reeds, jetted carb, mcr rear shock , mcr forks and the bike handles absolutely beautiful and is a really fast bike ive just had a failure late this season and in the middle of a rebuild... stock bore nothing fancy

Mine was fine. Ran a little rich but not too bad. Then I was on my way home from my parent's place down the road and it started losing power when I would pull the throttle. Took it home, rode it a while and it completely died. Wouldn't start. Used a plug from my other bike (almost same exact size) and it started right up. Left it in, rode it a while and it just died. Tried new plugs again and nothing. I'm thinking maybe a stuck power valve. I cleaned the carb thorough and checked for leaks. Nothing. Hopefully I fix it cuz I just bought it for 3k a month and a half ago. I do like the fact that it's easier to work on than my 450.

Definitely get v force Reed's and lectron carburetor with ether a fmf gold series or a pro circuit exhaust that is what will open up the bike a lot more also if u plain on doing a bottom end rebuild don't get the wisco crank go with a rench rabbit top and bottom end kit

I have an 05. 144 kit sent it to millennium tech. & told them to make it a beast. Also told them I rode mostly woods & they gave it more bottom end. So I have way more gear wherever I’m riding. It’s runs excellent always going to keep it. Hinson clutches also

Just a suggestion, I have a 2002 rm125. when we got it the clutch was slipping, so we took it apart for a rebuild ect, and we found it it had a 144 kit in it. therefore the stock clutch couldn’t hold the power. just a though I would check that before you order a piston ect. not sure if u already have ordered it but its just a thought

My friend has a 1983 Suzuki 125. 4 stroke. He also has a 2017 250cc huskavarna. Guess whitch one is running and hasnt needed anything replaced in 40 years.... They dont make em like they used to.

We got a rm 125 with a very similar problem the clutch barely works or if you adjust it just slips like crazy replaced the basket and plates made it a tiny bit better. Any help guys would be appreciated

Check the oil in your gear box. That’s first this you should look for when a 2 stroke clutch slips. I have a 2002 that rips insane. It looked like your cases were had wet oil spot.

Well the oil drain bolt is jb welded as he said... so he cant change the oil as is unless he dumped it out of the clutch

Love the video and before you take the bike apart of your drain out is stripped out get a little bit bigger of a bolt and just force it up did it for my rm250 and works great take the bolt out and everything

You should do an rmz250 plastics conversion! Those polisport kits are so ugly. You'll need a custom fuel tank to do it right. Only seen a couple done so far

Idk if you do but use Wisco crank and top end but if not you’ll get a lot more out of them in your 125 and 250 2 strokes. And they will actually last. My 125 days I’d get 20 hours out of a piston and 35 to 40 out of a crank.

It’s funny, my rm also had Jb weld all over the drain plug, but it’s because mine straight up split down the middle and was stripped, fixed it with a more silicon based mix 👌

dude that is one of the cleanest best jetted rm125s rm ive ever heard!!!!.... revs to the moon and sounds really tight and agile and the way you power shift and ride is really stylish ....is that the stock jetting or have u tewaked it to match the pipe n silencer n reeds or what have you...
