First silage feeding - opening the bag

We apologize for for not posting a video in a little while, the past month and a half have been slowing around the farm with not too many new things happening.
In this video we are opening up the first silage bag! For the past couple years we have been feeding round bale silage and this past season we switched things up and put the silage into two large bags. Hoping to improve production and to bring down the wasted silage that the goats aren't eating. Join us as we learn how to feed it and find out if the goats enjoy it.

Was wondering how things were going would putting a treatment on the silage helped it any at cutting time great video again cheers

Glad you enjoy watching the videos. using a treatment on the silage would help with the fermenting process but not the preservation of the feed, as this is my first time using bags we are just trying it out and may make some tweaks if we decide to feed this way going forward.

Man you waited a long time to make a video. Correction I waited a long time for a video.😛 There are supposed to be kids born by now ,right? I was curious about the mold too. But if you can deal wid dat that is good. Still wondering about the kids? 🎅🤶

Yes things have been really slow here but in a couple months things should really pick up again and we will be able to have lots of videos out. We were thinking that some of the kids were going to be born around Christmas as that is when the breeding cycle should've lined up but it looks like now they missed that cycle and will be due in February along with the majority of the other goats. Doing the ultrasound the way we do is not exact but we will just have a very busy month when all the kids do come.
