Sunshyne A it isn’t really difficult, I’ve done it twice. You just have to get your hair really wet and moisturized with water and conditioner, then slowly comb it out with a small but strong thin toothed comb. It’s takes a while, but that way is safest for your hair.

@EndMeNowPls
@EndMeNowPls 4 года назад
For certain people commenting. You DO NOT need loose curls for thick healthy hair after locs. Let me reiterate, YOU DO NOT NEED LOOSE HAIR FOR THICK HEALTHY HAIR AFTER LOCS. If you did some research and actually took care of your locs or hair out side of locs and took care of them while combing them out you would retain and grow your hair as one does with any hairstyle. This girl has healthy thick hair not because of her pattern but because she took care of her hair. Stop bashing her length and health based on your self hatred and inability to take care of yourself. In fact loose curly hair is harder to loc and maintain in loc form because it takes longer to form. I do not have loose hair in fact it's thick as hell and coily as hell but the reason I was able to grow my hair and keep length while simultaneously keeping the thickness and health is because I kept my hair mosterized and took care of them on a daily. Now I didn't keep them for 8 years like she did but i did keep them for a good amount of time that resulted in the progress I had. I even dyed and bleached my locs and still had no issues. It's about care not type stay educated you walnuts.

@EndMeNowPls
@EndMeNowPls 4 года назад
@@blueismylove3128 It would not be easier you walnut. (That's what I said before) In fact it's more difficult. And that's a lie literally the people in the comments are saying her hair is that length and health because of her texture. That's my stance in this redundant argument of the comments. Because her hair is loose it provided less friction for locs to stay resulting in her having to care care of her hair in a different more difficult way that people with kinky hair. It's not easier and of course combing them out was probably different than the way I would comb them out. Its n ou t that difficult to understand.
@blueismylove3128
@blueismylove3128 4 года назад
@@EndMeNowPls People like you are no use. It is harder, hard headed. A person with straight hair getting locs would have an easier time taking them out then someone with 4c hair. It's not really that hard to understand, Hun. Both can have healthy result, one just has an easier time getting it.
@EndMeNowPls
@EndMeNowPls 4 года назад
@@blueismylove3128 no people with loose or more precisely straight hair literally have to knot their hair. that should not be hard to understand. Where as people with kinky curly and curly hair like me have to just comb out their hair to separate it unless it is interlocked. That's a differnt story. Kinky hair just has to be combed and moistened to take them apert. Source I've taken out my locs on loose hair locs. Get it together I know what I'm talking about you fricking rock. Not only do people with loose and straight hair lose more hair it dries out their hair more because their hair type just lest out the moister rendering them dry. Where as kinky and coily hair traps what moiser is in because it already traps and absorbs moister because it thrives on it.

How is it possible for hair to have been matted together for 8 years, and still be able to get untangled? Did you intend to say that 8 years ago she had locs that were cut off, and now we’re seeing 8 years of new hair growth?
@SwisherGutsLLC

I had dread locs for eight years. And combed them out loc by loc over the past few weeks...literally combing out the last before seeing Cassandra. Starting my loc’s was a spiritual experience, and combing them out was the same.

Locs are NOT matted hair. That’s a horrible misconception about having locs and often why people associate locs with being poor/lazy/unkept. Secondly, her hair is healthy. Healthy hair will always be beautiful because it’s taken care of.

@Michelle Watkins the only time I've seen texture matter with locs is if a white person has them and it doesn't look as neat. Otherwise, you can have locs as a person with 4c hair or looser texture curls and be fine with how you comb them out. Just wet them and let them soak in conditioner before picking. It took me a week to take my locs out after having them for 5 1/2 years and I'm type 4b.

@Michelle Watkins any texture type can comb out locs. I combed out my 4c locs after 6 years. It was lovely.

@Michelle Watkins my sister had locs in for 6 months and they barely touched her neck. She picked them out in less than 3 days!

I spent such a long time in my life being so ignorant about locs, (because i listened to people that didn’t know what they were talking about 👀) thinking that they damage hair, and thinking that when you take them out you’ll be left with no hair. And that’s so not true!! Thank you for sharing this. You have to be gentle. You HAVE TOOOOO lol

People really mad that her hair looks nice after locs. If anything you should admire her patience and hard work because her hair is in a really good state. It took her a month to take them down, that’s patience. When you take care of your hair, regardless of texture and do what works for you, you’re hair will be in a healthier state. No need to be sour lmao

Nice job! TIP what I do with my long hair natural clients so that I don’t have to use a lot of heat.... after I detangle I either do the stretch method or sit them under dryer to absorb most of the water so I don’t have to keep passing the brush with the heat from the blow dryer to damage clients hair. Hair that is wet snaps easily. Plus when you sit them under the dryer or do stretch method drying you will see the hair drys quicker and it saves you time 👍🏾

@stephimarie5474 4 года назад
@@theressarhoe633 Oh...well okay. I thought you were being sarcastic and the reply from Mia Marie was sarcastic, bc the question and answer didn't make sense to me. However, since you were both apparently serious, apologies. Hair doesn't get wrapped with sashes so that further confused me BUT anyhow.... Wrapping is when you tautly secure the hair by wrapping it around the dome of the head. You can secure it section by section with a bobby pins (like how she demonstrated in 5:35) or by just keeping it in place with a head wrap/scarf or both. Some people do not like using bobby pins as they can create indentations in the hair but it really depends on how well you know how to wrap the hair and what type of hair pins you use to secure it. For ex., thicker hair may require larger pins. Some people like the grooves on pins and others like straight pins. An actual silk/polyester scarf isn't required if you use pins but it helps lay the hair flatter and keeps humidity out. It's best if you want to lie down or sleep. The term "wrapping the hair" isn't coined that way because of what you put on top of it but because you are literally maneuvering the hair by wrapping it around the head. ✌🏾
