This is my first ride with the Seba CJ Carbon. After enjoying the plastic Seba CJ Prime with Intuition V2 liners a lot, I was curious about the carbon version. This is my first carbon skate. And it’s awesome. I mounted the Wizard NR90 on it and went for some urban flow skating.

Just wait until you try the NR100s and the PR80s, you're gonna not want anything else where boots are concerned (well, maybe more seba sx wizard boots). I can't speak to your seba carbons, but if they're like my seba carbon wizard boots - oh my. I would suggest replacing that top strap with a another seba velcro strap, so much better.
@TheRollingRaptor
@TheRollingRaptor Год назад
Well, I’ve got several 4x100 frames, but I like 4x90 better. More nimble and more fun. :-) (And I’ve small feet, with my EU size 42.) I wasn’t sure whether to mount the NR90 or Advanced on those CJ Carbons, but finally decided to first try the NR90. The Advanced are on my CJ Prime with V2 Intuitions and Leon also seems to use the plastic Wizard boot with his Advanced. So I do as the master does. 😉 At some time, I’ll give them a go on the Carbons as well. Great tip about that Velcro strap! I’ll look into it.
@ravenouspathogen
@ravenouspathogen Год назад
@@TheRollingRaptor To use a velcro strap on the cuff, you will need to drill a hole for the screw, after you screw it in, use duct tape or gorilla tape because some of the screw holders will not be in the recessed areas and they have sharp corners. Waxed laces are a must. If you can get yourself a pair of the wizard 3m intuition liners, no other liner (intuition also) comes close. The Premium intuitions are just TOO tight in the sebas for some reason. I would go straight to the NR110s, being at the skill level you are, you should have no issues on wheels and frames at that size. Shortly after I got my wizard setup, I tried my FR1s with the Endless 100/110s and they felt so sketch after riding the wizard plastics/basics and the carbons too that I never went back. I would never go past 90mm wheels on anything outside of a seba. What are your takes on FRs with wizard type frames after riding seba boots?
@TheRollingRaptor
@TheRollingRaptor Год назад
@@ravenouspathogen I bought Nicola Torelli’s carbon IQON AG10 boots and those came with his (used) Wizard 3M Intuition liners. 😎 Very curious about that boot - haven’t tried it yet, but will in the following weeks. I’ve got the Rockin’ 4110s on my second pair of CJ Primes. Love ‘em. (And I’ve already made several videos about that setup. 😉) 4x110 is big fun for ripping through the city and rougher terrain, but 4x90 offers more swivelly magic, certainly at the skatepark. I still dig my FR1s with the NN Dragon. Feels great for urban skating. But granted, with less control or precision than a real Wizard setup.

Hi, great content!! If you had to choose only one, would you pick a 90mm or 100mm wizard style frame and why?
@TheRollingRaptor
@TheRollingRaptor Год назад
Thank you! I'd definitely pick the 90mm. I've even made a full video on my love for 4x90 rockered frames: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kCFqAwJlO5M.html In short: 4x90 is more fun than 4x100. 🙂

@@TheRollingRaptor Thanks for your thoughts! I'm constantly trying to decide which one to focus on but you have definitely swayed me towards the 90s:) What is your boot size may I ask?
@TheRollingRaptor
@TheRollingRaptor Год назад
@@9jhlikesmusic9 EU42 (MP 268mm). For larger feet (44 and above), a 4x90 can feel too short or too nimble. But I definitely love it.

Tim are you going share your thoughts on the setup in another vid?
@TheRollingRaptor
@TheRollingRaptor Год назад
That’s the plan. During that first ride, the boot felt awesome enough (and I’ve already made a review about the NR90), but I’m planning on making a kind of review video when I’ve got more experience with this new setup. This was just a first look and try. ;-)

Ah, I wondered when you'd jump on the carbons. I've considered this also, but unsure on the sizing, as I don't think I'd want to go straight into gutting these badboys. How do they compare to size to your CJ Primes?
@TheRollingRaptor
@TheRollingRaptor Год назад
Well, as I expected, they fit _less tight_ than the CJ Primes - which is a good thing, since I can't skate the Primes with the stock liner without my toes hurting like hell. I solved that problem with the Intuition V2 liner (and the Prime liner is great in my FR1s and Rollerblade Twisters). I've tried the EU41 CJ Carbon, but it was too tight for my 268mm feet, with my toes aching without even skating. So I went for the EU42, my usual size. It fits tight enough, I can feel the stiffness of the carbon under the padding, but my toes don't hurt when I'm jumping gaps and that's a great thing. I've no idea what will happen when the integrated liner's fully broken in. I hope I'll still get the same responsiveness. If not, then I'll have to gut them anyway. The Intuition Premium could be nice then. But as for now, I very much like the fit. Painless responsiveness all the way. 🙂

@@TheRollingRaptor How are you finding them after two months? I see from your recent videos you've not used them much?
@TheRollingRaptor
@TheRollingRaptor Год назад
@@shingweima Oh, I sure like 'em! I haven't used them as much as I would've liked, but that was due to being very busy with work and spending a lot of time at the skatepark with more aggressive setups. But every time I'm riding those CJ Carbons, it feels great. Of course, my videos aren't very representative of what I'm riding on a daily basis. During most of my sessions, I'm not taking any cameras with me - and I've _still_ got a three month lag with editing. 😅

Thank you! I already had the Wizard NR90 - first mounted on my Seba CJ Prime - and I paid 440 euro (470 dollar) for the CJ Carbon boot. So, in total, that would be about 900 euro, wheels included, I guess.

Is there a big difference with the integrated Liner on the Seba Cj2 and a boot with the INTUITION liner?
@TheRollingRaptor
@TheRollingRaptor 8 месяцев назад
The integrated liners feels softer and slightly more comfortable, while the Intuition is great at support and control. My toes have a little more room in the carbon size 42, while they sometimes ache after a sesh with lots of jumps. Both skates feel great.
@Slavaki1

@@TheRollingRaptor So the integrated liner would be better for just some nice and smooth flow Wizard skating.. and with the Intuiton liner for more hardcore pro controll Wizard skating..

Depends a bit on what you want to do. More flatland tricks or also jumping big gaps and stuff? I feel I'm not willing to do very risky stuff with the carbon boot - some say carbon breaks more easily and I don't want that.

@@TheRollingRaptorthat is also my big concern when deciding now on my first CJ's. I'm a big guy, 120kg. Scared of breaking carbons with a casual stair ride, jump, or a fall. On the other hand - because of 120kg weight the plastic gives up more than for a usual 75kg guy and bends quite more - that kills my power transfer and control over the skate. Carbon: - control and responsivenes Plastic: - durability - 2x cheaper Should I go for plastic, or not? Howbdo you think? 😅
