My first solo back in 1993 when I was 16. It has been one of the most amazing things I have done that has truly made me feel free. Nothing can explain it. So proud of you, chasing your dreams.

When Kelly said "He's put in the effort, he belongs up there." (I got teary eyed and I don't know why!) My most recent moment of really living? The last two years I have taken off the entire month of January from work and relocated to warm climate, got off the grid, and lived in the moment daily for a short term. Life changing for me. My second favorite part of this episode is when you said "Whisper of a thrill..." Great line, great show. Thank you for sharing. See you soon.

I'll definitely never forget the first time I picked up off the ground solo in the R22 during my training. I got airborne and got a rush of adrenaline from realizing there was nobody to help me get it back down on the ground, it was all up to me. It was also liberating to feel free from the rules of the world. To fly is heavenly, to hover is divine.

My first helicopter solo was in a Hiller My Dad was my instructor. So it ment more than a solo. I remember what my instructor told me if I don't remember anything that he's said remember this one thing. Always keep that rpm in the green. So I'm taking off in this 1947 Old surplus Army helicopter and the gauge's started shaking so bad the rpm was going from one end to the other but I LISTENED AND KNEW BY THE SOUND I was in the green even though the gauge was shaking violently up and down but after I got about 100 ft it smoothed out and was right on the middle of the green WOW! WHAT A ADRENALINE RUSH. I NOT ONLY SOLOED I MADE MY FATHER VERY Proud OF ME. ILL REMEMBER THAT FLIGHT TILL THE DAY I DIE!

Great story. My first solo was 37 years ago yesterday, and yes, I remember that odd feeling that goes with it: like your first solo drive, but amplified x10. Had some great experiences following it, with possibly the best moment with the horizon framed between the wings of a Stampe biplane, with the world above, and the sky below on a crystal clear day over the Thames. But introducing my American nephews to gliding the Long Mynd was probably the last time I felt like I was really living, last summer.

This brings back fond memories of my first solo circuits in a helicopter. Like you my solo was videoed from both inside the chopper and outside. Its a memory that will be with you for the rest of your life. In time you will get to fly different helicopter types and have great experiences. The one memory that will bring the biggest smile to your face will be that of your first solo. Well done may your sky be always blue and the air always smooth. Stay safe fellow aviator.

Great video series! There is nothing like your first solo! Except maybe the feeling when you pass your first checkride! I know where you are coming from, being grounded for medical currently, but hope to be back in the air soon. It’s inspiring to see you overcome challenges to reach your goals! Keep at it! I love the NASA sweatshirt btw… …spot on comments about using the sim to practice. I did the exact same thing with VR, a PFT Puma and XP10 when I was training and I passed my PPL checkride at 49hours! I don’t think I could have done that without the sim.

It continues to be an absolute delight to see you (Clint) like a kid in a candy shop all nervous and unsure. Since I've mostly ever seen you in situations where you are supremely confident, it's a fun behind the scenes. As for really living, getting back on stage and speaking this past year has probably been the biggest one for me. It really felt like coming home. Also, getting to take my kids up into the mountains and climb around Vedauwoo has been that this summer. Just a perfect blend of nostalgia, family, and activity in the beauty of nature.

this is actually my first vlog of your series... and the most thrilling part was when youre wife said... am nervous.. before you went to fly your copter.. and i am thinking.. like he's thinking.. (wow.. am doing this.. but lets do it.. and lets complete this hurdle.. i shall compete and i shall achieve it for me and for those behind me.) that was my thought pattern.. when watching you fly... a late Congrats.... my suggestion.. don't go and buy a helicopter... Slow and steady wins. Regards from Singapore, God bless.

Very nice and emotional video for me. I love helicopters and fly in X-Plane. I have glaucoma and was born deaf in one ear so my dreams of being a helicopter pilot were all in vain. I got to love helicopters on my job flying to offshore platforms I literally became obsessed with helicopters lol. To this day I am still hurting but I have sincerely accepted my circumstances. I am thankful for the technology that I can still fly helicopters in X-Plane and MSFS 2020 with my Pro Flight Trainer Puma and strictly in VR. Thanks, Clint for sharing this. I am so happy for you.

I too for a very long time wasn’t able to fly again and I appreciate you sharing your journey and love of helicopters. The sim world is amazing and has brought the world of flight to so many that would maybe never have the chance. So glad to hear you’re also rocking the pro flight trainer. Thank you again for sharing and for watching!

Clint, thanks for pushing us (me) to think about the challenges and risks we must take to live better lives. It is easy to settle into comfort, to accept rinse and repeat routines, especially when one has achieved as much traditional success as you have. Your quest is a reminder for me personally to keep seeking new air while staying grounded in the beauty of everyday life. Thank you. See you at Influence.
