First start attempt on my 2000 Honda 400ex. As you know I picked this quad up and first ride it locked up. I ended up tearing into the bottom end and replacing the crank. This is the first start attepmt since then. Will It start? #Honda, #FirstStart, #400ex,

Another great job. Glad I saw this one and noticed a chance to pass a little trick on to you and others. Watch your video and look how you're holding the oil bottle with the spout side down. If you hold and pour with the spout side up, air will easily enter to replace the oil as it comes out smoothly. Much less chance of the oil "glug, glug, gluging as it comes out and even if the bottle's full, you can hold it with the spout at a lower degree of angle to the ground. Give it a try, I think you'll like it. One more trick, when pouring automatic transmission fluid into your car or truck without a funnel, you can use the dipstick to guide the fluid into the hole. Just pull the dip stick partially out, leaving the tip inside, then put the mouth of the spout against the dip stick and pour slowly. Takes a little practice to perfect, but the fluid will follow a pretty sharp curve right into the dip stick tube :)

Try nailing the wheelies in 3rd gear off the clutch a bit. Basically 25-30mph wheelies. I was wicked impressed with my lil 01 300ex, the torque on the shift was awesome. I started watching when I was gonna rebuild my 85cc rm and that was at least 2yrs ago. Now I look forward to posts, this latest one being the best!! Thanks to you!

The piston and cylinder aren’t new. Just bearings in the crank you might want to worry about but even then it’s not a big deal.

little tip for wheelies, put your left foot on the bar on the back and keep your right foot on the brake, at a stop, pop the clutch and try to get brake control. nice job on the rebuild by the way 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

What u should have done was build a stroker out of that motor and put a big bore on it cams port it and everything bore over or get a bigger carb fine tune it. that would have been sweet, probably could get decent hp with that stuff

Hey joe. I think a great couple videos would be taking one of your 400 and doing some speed and power test. Then swapping on the big bore kit and do the same tests. Nothing else changed .

Stock jets? You probably need to re jet it for that exhaust/intake setup. Get that bad boy some fuel.

I only use gripper ceet covers,and odi Rouge lock grips,the best out there. Sucks when the grips come flying off in the middle of a race, or you keep sliding on your seat with stock covers.AND THIS IS NOT BREAKING IT IN PROPER. its missing on top

Try starting ur wheelies going a bit slower or clutch pop in first and use ur back break you will figure out you can ride them a lot longer especially with those 400s

I haven't heard any complaints from people using the current Wiseco cranks. There was a problem in the past with quality control. They don't manufacture the cranks themselves and dropped the ball when they should've been consistently checking what they were buying from their vendor. Their reputation took quite a blow and they say they are paying more attention to what they put their name on. Seems to be working out for them so far.

Not trying to hate but when you warm up a four stroke bike you have to let it sit there at idle and if it won’t idle you give it a little throttle but keep the throttle steady not up and down. But nice bike tho

Sounds like it but it was just the engine missing. I don’t think it’s jetted properly for the exhaust and intake upgrade. When you add air you need to add fuel. I hit the rev limiter all the time lol.

Buy a Yamaha Raptor and do a rebuild on that quad, from 700 cc to 1000 cc, just a complete rebuilding with the engine included, that would we thrilled. Or rebuild a Yamaha Banshee from a 350 CC engine to a 500 CC engine, enough possibilities.

Junk!!!! hada 99, it blew up after 5hrs on a fresh built motor, the only cool thing about it is 4x4 2 stroke. There oil injected junk, can't keep up, way!!!!! To heavy. I crashed one at 65mph and it almost killed me,

@@kendallnewman1122 I did gncc, poker runs and full mudd bog with mine, it was rode hard put away wet!!It was fun in the sand alot mine spit the rings right out the exhaust!! And broke the piston in half
